About your comment about growing ONE child with all possible financial and mental resources, one of the resources a child needs is siblings. Brothers and sisters provide a child with a larger network at birth itself. And it is a very close and intimate network, sort of like a micro-community by itself. The values and priorities set in this community by his parents will have a lasting effect on him. The child will also be able to call on this network when he or she needs help.

Agree. So the couples are more likely to base their dissision based on their family's needs not that of hinduisim. Each member could be successful and prosperous in their own way they think fit and use that success and prosperity to then help hinduisim. that's kinda a way jews work.

Though the Gaya police initially detained Akram for his resemblance with one of the blast accused, its suspicion of Akram's terror links grew stronger as during his seven-year stay in Lucknow he was reported to have come into close contact with a SIMI activist, Faiyaz.

The fact that Akram's sister was married to a person of Pelawal village in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district where three suspects of the year 2002 attack on U S Consulate in Kolkata were killed in a police encounter, also made police suspicious about his possible terror links, police said.

Mumbai blast came with no surprise. The modus operandi is recurring. Pakistani terrorists recruit locals, they in turn keep bags of RDX or similar material in crowded places and rest is taken care by those explosives. Even though, India is not new to terrorist attacks, the response to such act is invariably useless and ignorant at worst. The real culprit is the political class that lack the conviction of doing what is needed and commitment to stay on the right path. Look at our Prime Minister's speech and it becomes certain that India will remain unprepared for next attack and the culprits of every terrorist henceforth, will be as free as birds and citizens constantly under threat.

Let's keep aside the controversy whether this attack was an act by the LeT or Hizb. What is important is to see the kind of response our government gives to the culprits. If these bombings are done by LeT or Hizb, then, is our government ready to declare some sort of tough measures against Pakistan? Or at least, is our government ready to give an ultimatum to Pakistani government to hand-over Dowd Ibrahim & Co.? Forget about warning Pakistan, is our government ready to tackle the homegrown extremists like SIMI? The answer is excruciatingly no. It is impossible for our politicians to work for the betterment of the society. Because, if they do that then there is always the danger of losing certain vote bank. They will rather sale their country but lose their vote bank. With this kind of politics of appeasement our democracy is fast becoming malediction to our future.

Reports are already indicating involvement of SIMI in these blasts. In spite of these evidences, political parties like Samajwadi Party are in the forefront to defend the organization. It's scary considering Samajvadi Party is the ruling party of Uttar Pradesh which is the largest state of India with largest Muslim population.

Most of the media is constantly mentioning that Mumbaikars are brave and the way Mumbai is back on it's feet within few hours. It sounds more opportunistic. Of course, Mumbaikars are brave and the way Mumbai functions is worth applauds. But more than that people there don't have any option. Mumbaikars seem to have accepted the fact that the politicians can't give them safety and security.

Political correctness should not come when the matter is related to national security. The current recipe of Indian government to deal with Pakistan seems more like a road to nowhere. But there are only two ways out of current political quagmire in India. Either, more bomb blasts will force politicians to go tough on terrorists and Pakistan. Or, Indian voters can use their voting weapon to oust these inept politicians. The second option is better and useful.

People seem to not understand the role of a politician. he is not a social worker. he is a representative. He represents the strongest public opinion. its is the responsibility of the people to create that strong public opinion. few politicians like Advani(and likes) for Ayodhya, Vajpayee for nuclear test and Modi for Godhara do make daring decision, but often their supporters remain mute when these guys are driven in the ground by leftist. That would make these politicians care less about patriotism and more about making the safest decision.

Blaming everything either on our past or present leaders is just an excuse for not doing anything yourself. Help your government make the right decision for you. Take part in constructive actions to generate public opinion for the good of our country, rather then just futile complains.

Three months ago, the CPM sent T K Hamsa, its MP from Manjeri, on a supposedly discreet mission to Coimbatore to get Mahdani to make his outfit, the Peopleâs Democratic Party (PDP), openly pitch for the Left in the Assembly polls. This was vital for the Left to build temporary bridges with a reasonable chunk of the Muslim votebank that wouldnât touch it.

Hamsa did an undercover job â careful even to keep his popular name under wraps. And once this visit was exposed, the Left refused to confirm that he had gone as its official emissary.

When asked to explain this, Hamsa told The Indian Express: âThe party leadership did not ask me to meet Mahdani. I went on my own because his human rights were being seriously violated, I wanted to express my sympathies.â

So why didnât he identify himself? âI didnât tell anyone I am an MP because jail officials would not have let me in if I did. I went in as a common man.â

Not just Hamsa.

Another emissary from the Left at Coimbatore jail was the rebel Muslim League man in the CPM camp, T K Jaleel, who later won from Kuttipuram with substantial PDP help.

But did the Left woo Mahdani or was it vice versa? ââWhat does it matter? The reality is the Left was greatly helped in this poll by both Mahdaniâs personal charisma and the PDPâs organizational strength,ââ Poonthura Swaraj, Mahdaniâs second in command, told The Indian Express.

This is not the first Left overture to Mahdani, though. In the early nineties, Marxist guru EMS Namboodiripad surprised Kerala when he compared this fire-breathing cleric on crutches with Mahatma Gandhi, saying he could not be untouchable to the Left because he believed in his religion.

That was when this man looked like he would straddle a good deal of the Muslim political space that the Muslim League in the Congress fold during the post-Babri anger was beginning to vacate. Muslims in Kerala had traditionally leaned away from the Left, and EMSâs revelation was when the CPI(M) was in one of its deep ideological ferments over deciding on its approach to the elusive Muslim vote bank.

To avert trouble, Mahdani was arrested on a communal incitement charge â he used to get charged with that often â and was thereafter promptly handed over to Coimbatore police to be made an accused in the blasts case.

This was while EK Nayanarâs CPI(M)-led Government was in power. The Left, of course, hastily washed its hands of even slamming the Congress for sidling up to him in two successive polls.

Eight years later, the man accused of masterminding a serial blast that killed 59, and maimed many more is now a political idiom, a human rights symbol, and a significant tilter of fortunes in Kerala politics.

The PDP had grown large enough not to worry any more about its congenital taint â it is the re-worked version of the Islamic Sevak Sangh, a barely concealed communal outfit that Mahdani ran before it was banned.

Top on the PDPâs political agenda, naturally, has been getting its supremo released from jail. The Congress-led UDF garnered its votes in the 2001 polls promising to do just that.

A K Antony, and then his successor Oommen Chandy, did make some noise about their doing everything to persuade the then Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to let him out on parole.

That did not, however, wash well with the PDP â especially not after the Tamil Nadu Government submitted to the Chennai Court a faxed missive from the Antony Government that clearly said letting Mahdani out would endanger law and order in Kerala.

ââThe Congress Government cheated us. It was their faxed missive that Jayalalithaa used to clamp a ban on Mahdaniâs movement outside of the jail. We canât forgive them for that,ââ Poonthura Siraj affirms.

The PDP was surely assuming a key political profile, while leveraging a slew of human rights outfits to join the chorus for Mahdaniâs parole on health grounds â the man had a leg blown off early in his career by an RSS bomb, and was a hypertensive diabetic. In September last year, a bunch of suitably armed men boarded a Tamil Nadu government bus leaving Kochi, shooed out all passengers and set it aflame, shouting slogans for him.

Soon, the 2006 polls were coming up and almost every political leader of some consequence was speaking for Mahdani. V S Achuthanandan, then the opposition leader, was going to town about how he had written to Jayalalithaa seeking an audience to discuss Mahdani but didnât get a reply.

Chandy was talking about his ill luck at not being able to make Amma budge, and how the giveaway fax that his Government sent was actually a mistake.

That was when President A P J Abdul Kalam came down to Kerala. The state MLAs, both of the Left and the Congress bandwagon, immediately drew up a petition and submitted it to Kalam, demanding Mahadaniâs release â more than 100 out of the stateâs 140 MLAs signed it.

More was to follow, on the day of Holi on March 15, the Congress-led Governmentâs Water Resources Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan tabled a resolution in the Assembly. It urged the Centre to âintervene on humanitarian grounds in the case of Mahdani, languishing under trial in Coimbatore Central Jail for the last seven yearsââ, and for ââurgent steps to provide good medical treatment to himâ.

Now, the Opposition-Left wanted to do one better. It asked for the resolution to be made to read that Mahdani be released on parole, not just given medical treatment. This was incorporated and passed â not a single MLA opposed it.

The next few weeks put him in even more important light. The PDP was angry with the Congress, but had still not agreed to incline Left.

Days before the Assembly poll in May, Mahdani broke his silence to send a statement from his cell exhorting his ranks to work for the Left â for the first time.

The Left won comfortably in many Muslim pockets that it could never have dared to hope for earlier. The last few weeks had seen Left ministers and leaders making a beeline for Mahdaniâs home to meet and promise his wife to get him out, tagging TV cameras along.

Achuthanandan talked to Karunanidhi urging to get him out but the latter, it seems, has gone only halfway. As of now, heâs getting the massages.

Wife surrenders, gets bail

COIMBATORE: Soofiya, Mahdaniâs wife, against whom a non-bailable warrant was pending, surrendered on Monday before a judicial magistrate here. Soofiya, as reported by The Indian Express, was allowed access to Mahdani despite the warrant. On two personal sureties, the magistrate granted bail to Soofiya, who has been asked to appear before the court on every hearing date and posted the case for August 11.

She faces cases under Sections 353 (preventing public servants from discharging their duties) and 506 (intimidating and threatening dire consequences).

After listening this interview I tried to analyse whether MrÂ Ibrahim was honest in his approach or he was also acting likeÂ Islamic apologists to cover up the role of Islam and its teachingsÂ in on going terrorism.Â Mr Ibrahim is not a first Muslim elite to float the theory ofÂ impoverishment of Muslim society and fear psychosis as an excuse ofÂ violent reaction of this society. It reminds old medieval days whenÂ Muslim invaders were followed by Sufis to make sure that HinduÂ society forget the atrocities of invaders with theories ofÂ commonalities between practices of Sufis and Hindu saints. InÂ medieval period we witnessed these so called intellectual IslamicÂ scholars always played the role of reserve army of Muslim invaders,Â now again Hindus are being deceived with some self made hypotheticalÂ theories to deviate the whole debate of Islamic imperialisticÂ ambitions.

On 11th of July when India was attacked by Islamic terroristsÂ our political establishment and media tried its best to downplay theÂ gravity of situation and paid more attention to make sure realÂ motive of this attack should not come in debate. Indian governmentsÂ haste act to blame Pakistan instead of looking within was not takenÂ seriously in international community.

Our political establishment and media did not hesitate toÂ compromise with its duty to come out clean with facts in itsÂ obsession for correctness. But this correctness was not enough toÂ stop the role of home grown Jihadis to come under scrutiny.Â After two weeks of gruesome killing of more than 200 peopleÂ whatever probe has revealed contradicts C.M.Ibrahim's theory thatÂ Muslim in India are afraid.

Couple of days after blasts Mumbai police detained one leader ofÂ Samajwadi party in connection to overstaying of some KashmiriÂ youngsters in his house. One leading English news paper publishedÂ this story and very next day another samajwadi leader Abu Azmi holdÂ a press conference and threatened Government of India andÂ Maharashtra not to blame Muslims in the grab of terrorism otherwiseÂ 20 lakh Muslims will come out on streets and no government will beÂ able to stop them. This pre partition syndrome in itself tellsÂ story how Muslims are afraid in this nation.

This threat was followed by another fundamentalist Muslim leader who is also patron of UDF the same party whose leader Mr Ibrahim claim Muslim in India are afraid. In first Friday prayer in Jam Masjid after Mumbai blasts Shahi Imam said "we have ruled this country for 800 years Insallah we will rule it again.'' He did not stop there he blamed RSS, VHP, SHIV SENA and Hindu organisations for Mumbai blasts and criticized government for falsely implicating Lashker-E-Toiba in this attack. He dared to challenge Indian government to provide evidence against so called organisation then he himself will go to Pakistan to meet the members of thisÂ organisation. Addressing the gathering of 200 people after FridayÂ prayer Shahi Imam threatened government not to paint all Muslims asÂ terrorist.

In the meantime leader of Babri Masjid action committee Sayed Shahabuddin met with Mrs Sonia Gandhi with a delegation of Muslims to request her to stop the government and Media from portraying all Muslims as terrorists. It is surprising to note how Shahabuddin did not see the correctness of media and government to not mention the real motive and perpetrators of this attack and blamed media and government for portraying Muslims as terrorists. It seems he does not want truth to be come out and perpetrators of this incident will bring to justice. Time is not too far when we will hear about meeting of Shahbuddin like peolpe wih natioanl security advisor to argue him not to mention in his report how jehadis spreading their tentacles in all over India.

Anyway Congress president obliged them immediately and Home minister of India in an extraordinary speech gives clean chit to madrassas and termed them as seat of social service and propagator of human values. Home minister denied any involvement of madrassas in any terrorist activity.

This statement in haste from an authority responsible for internal security not only disappointing but irresponsible also. Not only Home minister but also whole world knows what is being taught in madrassas even in ongoing probe in Mumbai blasts madrassas and Muslim seminaries from Mumbai, Bihar , Assam to Tripura are under scanner of security agencies . In this volatile Situation Home ministers' statements matters more and could influence investigation also. Is he trying to demoralise counter terrorist agencies? These three incidents indicate towards a clever aggressive Muslim policy to keep government institutions on back foot in their probe as well as in their counter terrorism policies.

This policy has worked well for them. They were able to get some allies in political parties who pleaded openly for terrorists. Chief minister of Uttar pradesh and president of Samajwadi party Mulayam singh Yadav took no time in giving clean chit to Students Islamic union of India SIMI main culprit organisation for Mumbai blasts. Mr Mulayam singh whose Hindi meaning is soft has translated it in its true spirit with his softness on SIMI. His government provided all facilities to make sure the surrender of chief of Uttar pradesh of SIMI Md Amir with state head of Kanpur. Government of UP has issued the direction to Baharaich court a district of adjacent to Nepal border to withdraw all the cases of treason or else from president of SIMI Shahid Badra.

Mulayam singh Yadav who is pushing the Islamic agenda of Dar-ul-Islam since long time was clearly visible when one member of his cabinet Haji Yakub Qureshi openly declared prize of 51 crore for anyone who kills Danish cartoonist responsible for drawing Mohammed cartoon. One other senior minister of his cabinet Md Azam Khan few days back demanded separate Muslim state in Uttar Prdesh. But Muslim love of this party of the most populated state does not end here only; senior leader of Samajwadi Party Mr Beni Prased verma floated the idea of reservation for Muslims in Parliament and legislatures.

Along with Samajwadi party communist party of India Marxists jumped in rhetoric's and did not lose chance to appease Muslims and demanded the enquiry on the role of Hindu organisations in Mumbai blasts, reminiscent to Islamist-leftist-liberal conspiracy theory of involvement of FBI and Israeli agencies in 9\11 attacks on New York as well as theory of Karsevaks burning themselves in Godhra carnge.In light of these instances it is quite difficult to believe on Mr Ibrahim that Muslims are afraid in this country. It is up to Hindus to decide who is afraid in this country those who have privilege to keep their personal law out of purview of Indian constitution, those who have license to kill Hindus in name of faith or those who are not allowed to chant Bharat Mata ki Jai even in their own country.

Two held in connection with Mumbai blastsQUOTETwo youth suspected to be LeT operatives were arrested by the police in connnection with the July 11 bomb blasts on suburban trains in the city.

Jamir Sheikh and Sohail Sheikh had already been detained by the Crime Branch and were arrested late on Tuesday night after being thoroughly interrogated, ATS sources said.

While Jamir is from the city and runs a key making shop in Mumbai Central, Sohail hails from Pune. Both had allegedly undergone LeT training in Pakistan, sources said.

The two are suspected to be members of the LeT sleeper module led by Tanvir Ansari, the unani practitioner held on July 24, they said.
