List Of Anti-Indian Charities - acharya - 09-04-2005 Do not criticise elected government, minorities told http://www.hindu.com/2005/09/04/stories/2005090402970700.htm Special Correspondent It will be preposterous to question the sincerity of the Government: NCM chief JAIPUR: The Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, Tarlochan Singh, on Saturday called upon the minority communities to discard the habit of criticising democratically elected governments with constant complaints of "perceived discrimination.'' He said the fear psychosis created among the minorities would harm them in the long run. Mr. Singh was interacting with reporters during his visit to attend a function of the Sikh Sangat here. He said minorities had no right to denounce the elected governments as the latter had the people's mandate in their favour. "Holding the Government or the ruling party responsible for communalism in the society is improper,'' he said. Mr. Singh â who is also a Rajya Sabha MP â pointed out that an elected government was answerable to the people at large irrespective of who voted for it and a Chief Minister was duty-bound to fulfil the aspirations of the entire population of the State. It would be preposterous to question the sincerity of the Government, he said. The Minorities Commission chief said he had led a delegation of Muslims that met the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, in the aftermath of violence in 2002, when Muslims had announced boycott of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government. The grievances of the community were settled in a "congenial atmosphere'' with his intervention. On the observations of the Prime Minister's high-level committee that visited Rajasthan recently to study the socio-economic and educational status of Muslims, Mr. Singh said he did not find any atmosphere of fear, distrust or terror among Muslims in the State. GSub, do you know about SEWA ? http://www.indianexpress.com/full_story.php?content_id=79433 List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 11-24-2005 This is wild.. Actually when I was in Gujarat recently I had read in paper that Guj Govt is auditing many NGOs. Some of the NGOs have been kicked out. Dont remember the details. QUOTE SEWA alleged that the government is harassing it because many members are Muslim victims of the communal riots. While the media has hyped the Modi government's harassment of SEWA, they conveniently forgot that the NGO chose to remain silent while Gujarat burned. During the carnage, while more than 20 leading NGOs organised relief under the banner of Citizen's Initiative, this eminent organisation chose to stay away. But it did supply raw materials in camps for women to make beedis - at a meagre Rs.8 per 1,000, says a relief worker. "No NGO is coming forward to support it [SEWA] now. At a time when it should have spoken out, it chose to remain silent. With just one phone call to Bill Clinton, such influential organisations could have put pressure on the government to stop the violence that continued for three months," says an NGO representative. "It is true we did not make any statement against the violence because our members were directly under attack; 1/3rd of our members are Muslims," says Ela Bhatt. List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 11-24-2005 SEWA is leftist NGO, supported by ASHA, AID, Prakash Cedric, Angana Chatterji and Biju etc. This is different from UK based SEWA. List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 11-28-2005 QUOTEDailypioneer NGO abandons 'rescued' kids Rajesh Kumar/ New Delhi ...sends them to juvenile homes--- The climax was on expected lines. As feared, the 477 children "rescued" amid media hype by Mumbai-based NGO Pratham, in coordination with the labour department of Delhi Government, have landed up in juvenile homes. Failing to put together a rehabilitation plan for the children and unable to bear the cost of food and lodging, Pratham on Sunday sent the children to 11 observation homes spread across the city. These homes mainly house juvenile delinquents. But in the case of these unfortunate 'rescued' children, there is neither a first information report (FIR) against them nor their employers from whose premises they were rescued. They have been sent to Sewa Kutir run by the Delhi Government, Prayas and Deepalaya, run by NGOs. These children would now be in the company of those incarcerated there on various criminal charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In a related development, Pratham has sacked its volunteers who were assigned the task to carry out the rescue operation. The step has been taken, sources said, following adverse media reports. The Pioneer had carried a report in its front page titled-Lure of UN funds drives NGO to rescue kids- which revealed that rather than concern for the rehabilitation of the children, utilisation of UN funds prompted the raids. The report also pointed out that neither the government nor the NGO that carried out the raids had an answer about the rehabilitation plan of these children. Sources in the labour department said that the government had already placed a task force under divisional commissioner GK Marwah to carry such raids. "In this case, the labour department and NGO did not consult the task force prior to the raids. The entire exercise was done without proper planning," said the source. "The rescued children would now be required to depose before the child welfare committee of the Delhi Government after which a decision would be taken on their rehabilitation," said a Delhi government official. "But one thing is clear, rehabilitation process under Child Labour Act would be impossible. The NGO is running away from its responsibility. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) will hand over these children to their parents," the source added. It was also revealed that about 20 per cent children who were rescued in Mumbai early this year by Pratham, returned to Delhi and joined factories in the trans-Yamuna areas." List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 11-28-2005 M.H. We are going all out to plug the trend.â The DNA reported on May 1 that 57 NGOs and social groups across the city were blacklisted by the state intelligence department for aiding Naxalite and Maoist insurgents. List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 08-15-2006 Is this one of those "South Asian" charities? EXCLUSIVE: 'THEY USED QUAKE CASH' QUOTEIntelligence services in the UK and Pakistan are now trying to trace the whereabouts of £50million, including quake donations. They fear some of it may have been used to fund terrorism. The Sunday Mirror has also learned that the father of the "key suspect" in the jet bomb plot is linked to one of the quake charities. It is also claimed that many of the 23 suspects had travelled to terror training camps in Pakistan while posing as volunteers working in refugee camps following the October 2005 quake. The alarm over the charity cash was first raised two months ago when Britain tipped off the Pakistan authorities when they noticed a £50million transfer of funds from several British charities to troubled Kashmir province. The money, allegedly sent through Barclays Bank, went to three individuals at three different banks in Kashmir - Saudi Pak Bank, Standard Chartered and Habib Bank. Some of the cash was collected by three British nationals - one a builder, the others described as businessmen. They were subsequently arrested. One of the British charities being investigated is Crescent Relief (London), based in Dagenham, Essex. List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 08-17-2006 Confederation of Human rights organization - Kerala These people perpetrate lies and ask the government to release Coimbatore blasts, Terror accused Madhani, a rabble rouser and close ally of CPI in Kerala. List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 08-21-2006 Sandeep Pandey's ASHA is on another fund raising mission in USA presently, with their monkey troop Indian Ocean. Members beware, and spread the word. I have gathered the following details on ASHA (a lot is already available on AID at http://www.aidindia.info/). Asha was founded by Dr. Sandeep Pandey, as a frontal fund collecting NGO which further disburses funds to several other nodal NGO projects in India. Asha claims to be an apolitical, for-democracy and secular NGO. However in reality, the ideologies and leaders of ASHA are strongly leftist with pro-Marxist and pro-Communist loyalties. ASHA works closely with the Forum of Indian Leftists (FOIL) and arranges numerous political events together with them both in India and USA. Asha's leadership - especially its founder and chairman Dr Pandey have been actively promoting anti-Democracy, anti-USA, anti-globalization, anti-semitic, anti-Hindu, pro-militancy, pro-radical-islamist efforts in India. They actively oppose US-India cooperation on all fronts - strategic, security, nuclear, cultural, industrial. It is ironic that 100% of their funds come from USA, and they very cleverly use those fund to tacitly preparing the ground work for the anti-USA and anti-Indo-US-cooperation efforts. All their fund-raising is done in disguise of harmless events such as music concerts, and for declared goal of basic education in India. While collecting funds, they obviously try to distance themselves from political leanings, and would go extra-lengths to prove their non-political credentials. They also talk a lot of egalitarian activities that they do in India. However, once in India they divert these funds very cleverly and tacitly for political propaganda and activism, while maintaining a front face of social work for education. Some snippets of their ideology and activities: Asha-founder Dr. Sandeep Pandey says: "USA is the biggest evil on earth", "USA is an aggressor", "US-India-Israel strategic cooperation is bad for the world", "Kashmir is for Kashmiris only, and India is an adamant state". http://www.milligazette.com/Archives/2004/.../1631200434.htm Asha works closely with radical-Islamic organizations like Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), typically under the guise of espousing pluralism and furthering human rights. One of the slogans seen in one such rally, which they participated in, says: "Allah will destroy the terrorist state of India." (photo: http://www.geocities.com/aid_india_info/glimpse-502.jpg), some more news: http://volunteer.news.prweb.com/releases/2...prweb246615.htm and http://www.imc-usa.org/cgi-bin/cfm/PressRelease.cfm?PRID=58 While they say nothing about Iran's nuclear program, they are very much against India-US civil nuclear cooperation. "India-US cooperation is ominous" - http://www.thesouthasian.org/archives/2006...inous_deal.html Asha leaders were frontal in opposing President Bush's India visit. They organized protest rallies, and very actively opposed the whole visit that was to further India-USA relationship, wherever he went or addressed public. http://www.thesouthasian.org/archives/2006...ts_of_bush.html Asha founder, has regularly attended meetings of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), and has honored Naxals (a terrorist communist movement in southern-eastern India - responsible for a wide range of murderous activities). This link is from CPI's own website: http://www.cpiml.org/liberation/year_2003/...ary/feature.htm Rock band Indian Ocean have been very open about their support for Communist agenda in India, and are known to be singing for all major conventions of theirs. Another "good-cause" concert they did for communists in New Delhi: http://www.hardnewsmedia.com/portal/book/export/html/150 (I need more information on this one - if members have) Asha leaders have made public statements supporting Pakistan president Musharraf, and said Musharraf was more sincere about peace than Indian leadership, despite Musharraf's continued support for terrorism against India. Asha leaders have openly opposed the operations of MNCs in India. This month itself, they have actively opposed operations of Coca Cola Inc in India, and are radically against large power projects being executed by Indian state and federal governments. http://southasia.oneworld.net/article/view/134592/1/1893 ASHA has not dissociated itself from the activities of its leaders and founder - in fact, it continue to fund projects that they are directly running. This effort has raised many questions of ethics, both about the nature of the tactics used, as well as the fascinating attempt by them to deny their well-known ties to the Communist Party of India(Marxist), and its most rabidly violent offshoots such as the CPI (Marxist/Leninist) and the CPI (Marxist/Leninist/Maoist), a.k.a. "Naxalites" and "People's War Group". ASHA leaders are in fact very active in organizing political rallies in USA, of communist leaning: http://www.proxsa.org/resources/ghadar/v5n2/organizing.html It seems very ironic that Asha/AID and other left-leaning NGOs of India come collect funds from USA and especially from Indian-Americans - so that they can go back and use those funds in India, against the Indo-US strategic partnership and relations, democracy, and economy! They seem to indeed believe in Karl Marx's prediction: "The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which to hang them". In this case Donate not even sell? Raghu Publication: The Asian Age Date: October 27, 2006 The increasing number of bishops cheating the public in the guise of building houses for tsunami victims and the poor has turned the spotlight on the so-called "independent" churches, of which there are said to be 1,500 in Tamil Nadu. At least four bishops have been accused in recent weeks of cheating the public of Rs 40 crores in the name of charity. While two of them have been arrested, the police is hunting the other two. The Madras Mylapore Archbishop, A.M. Chinnappa, had recently distanced himself from these bishops, saying that Catholic bishops had to be appointed by the Pope and that these robed men did not fall into that category. He had also warned people against being taken in by such self-styled bishops. The archbishop's statement received a sharp response from the Independent Churches of India association, which objected to his suggestion that the bishops belonging to independent churches were frauds. The association claimed that proper procedures were followed in the appointment of its bishops. <img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /> The controversy, however, has not died down as more cases of bishops cheating the public have occurred since then. Over the last two months, at least three cases have been registered against four bishops of the Moulin Mission Trust in Mahabalipuram, near Chennai, the Calvary Mission Trust in Vellore and the Hallelujah Full Gospel Missionaries of India, Chennai, by the Tamil Nadu police. It started with priest Anandaraj of the Moulin Mission Trust, who was arrested by the Mahabalipuram police for allegedly swindling over Rs 10 crores from contractors by collecting earnest money deposits from them after promising them orders for construction of houses for tsunami victims and the poor. Priest Job Saravanan of the Calvary Mission Trust is absconding although the police arrested his associates. He is accused of swindling people of over Rs 20 crores using the same modus operandi. The police arrested priest Joseph Solomon of the third church for cheating the public of Rs 7.5 crores. His associate, Sathyaseelan, another bishop, has escaped to the United States, according to the police. The operations of these self-appointed bishops are spread throughout South India, the police say. Bishop Dr M. Prakash, founder of Independent Churches of India, when contacted, said the bishops involved in these cases were not members of the association. "They have brought shame to the independent churches," he said. Bishop Prakash said he had been trying to bring all independent churches in the state under one umbrella for the last three years. He defined independent churches as those separate from the established ones, like the Catholic Church. "It is time for the independent church to have a common code of conduct by which the members will have to abide. The constitution will be goal-oriented," he said. "I am in touch with the heads of all independent churches. We will meet soon and will make a constitution for the functioning of such churches," he added. He claimed that 60 per cent of the Christian community in the state were members of independent churches and did not belong to Catholic or CSI churches. "We have around 1,500 independent churches in Tamil Nadu and all over the country the number of such churches may be more than 40,000. Yes, among them there are a few black sheep. Those who are involved in fraudulent activities are making use of social welfare projects to achieve their ends. No bishop will to do something to harm others," said Bishop Prakash, who has been running the SISWA Mission Trust in Anna Nagar in the city for the last 30 years. It is mainly involved in religious activities. According to him there is no uniformity in belief among the independent churches, which comprise various sects whose beliefs differ from those of the established churches. "We believe in Christ and in doing good," he asserted. List Of Anti-Indian Charities - Guest - 12-12-2007 I need info about Vibha.org.
