Dubai, Sept 3 (PTI) Indians living in the Gulf, especially from Andhra Pradesh, have expressed shock and dismay at the sudden demise of Chief Minister YSR Reddy, who was killed in a copter crash in the Rudrakonda Hill area.
Families belonging to Andhra Pradesh remained glued to their television sets ever since the news of the disappearance of the former chief minister yesterday morning.
Vira Reddy, who is from Karimnagar and resides in Saudi capital of Riyadh, said he is shocked at the tragic accident which took YSR's life and those of four others.
"My first reaction was this cannot be true. Somewhere inside I had the feeling that he will be found alive from the jungles even if his helicopter had crashed," he said.

When IG, Sanjay Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi died, lot of people in South India committed suicide. I think in South people get emotionally attached with leaders due to lot of factors. This phenomenon is missing in North.

But one can not fault the people for all the evils of creating political dynasties. It is the coterie around political powers that benefit for status quo and political clouts. They are the ones that create all the thamsha.
Another political dynasty is the DMK party in TN. People talk about Kannimozhi, Stalin and Azzhagiri after Karunanidhi. Because they know one of them is going to get the reins. Like in USA, there is no concept of Primaries where the public elect party nominees. It is a question of how many MPs or MLAs a particular person can command.
The aam admi has little say in creating the political dynasties.
