Bang won.
Well.... repeat of 2004, I guess. Good omen. This means India will reach final, and thrash Ireland there. <!--emo&:tv--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tv_feliz.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tv_feliz.gif' /><!--endemo-->

So Pakistan has 2 losses. India has 1 loss. England has 1 loss.

Aus, SA, WI, NZ and SL have won I suppose, and Ireland is at 1.5/2

Unbelievable <!--emo&:omg--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/omg.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='omg.gif' /><!--endemo--> I guess two minnows have good chance of getting into the super8!

I wonder if some fixing is going on here. <!--emo&Rolleyes--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='rolleyes.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It looks like india also along with pak will have a short world cup. Moron singh should sieze this opportunity, talk to the general and as a CBM organise some matches between india and pak. <!--emo&Tongue--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo--> The players will anyway be free for the next 1 month <!--emo&Wink--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Ranchi: ...  Mahender Singh Dhoni's under construction house in Ranchi was attacked by a mob on Sunday morning.

Around 20-25 JMM youth wing activists held protests in front of Dhoni's under construction house in Ranchi. The mob demolished the boundary walls of the house and also burnt an effigy of Dhoni. The JMM youth Wing leaders also demanded that Dhoni give back the land gifted to him by the Jharkhand government.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Pakistan were eliminated from the World Cup on Saturday after losing by three wickets to minnows Ireland.

<b>But Woolmer said: "I'm going to sleep on this one as I've had a very bad day, which ranks along with my worst days as a coach.</b>

"Coaching is what I like to do but whether I continue to do that at international level is under discussion.

"I'm going to give it some thought." <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

This is really sad.
Bob Woolmer's death was really sad.

I am certain his career as a coach was over. Probably he ended up drinking a bit too much to swallow the defeat?

My condolences to his family!
<b>Pak coach Bob Woolmer passes away in Jamaica</b><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Pakistan team spokesman Parvez Mir told Pakistan television channels that Woolmer "had expired".

Sports Minster of Pakistan, Mian Shamim Haider confirmed that Woolmer's <b>death was caused by a heart attack</b>.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Seems like he was under lot of pressure. Players failed him. Very sad.
Its game, one will lose or win.
Coming back to “Team India”.

I am very disappointed with the way we run cricket business in India. I have following gripes:

1) Team selectors fu*ked up. What is Virender Sehwag doing in the team anyway?
2) Sports media was tauting Munaf Patel as the paceman and the guy throws around paltry 130km/hour. Is that a pace? I think sports media is dorky. Both Agarkar and Zaheer were touching around 144km/hour. Irfan’s pace is even lower than Munaf’s pace.
3) Dinesh Karthik should have been in the team. He is very balanced player. But the idiotic selectors have an IQ of a 4 year old.
4) Agarkar and Zaheer are OK as opening bowlers till we can come up with someone who can exceed 144km/hour. But we need to rotate between RP Singh, SriSanth, Irfan and Munaf.
5) Sachin should retire honorably. I recommend Sehwag’s immediate dismissal from the team. He is out of form. He should play in the Ranji trophy if he really loves cricket that much.
6) I think Ganguly and Dravid should go as openers to give India a calm and reliable start. Dinesh Karthik is very talented. He should come next. Utthappa is not reliable. But he is young so he can improve. We can bring in some new youngsters and can do some rotation with Utthapa.

My 2 cents!

In my opinion, Bob Woolmer had a very difficult task at hand. Can you imagine dealing with animals like Sohaib Akhtar on a regular basis?
Have you missded BCCI election and whole drama?
Problem starts from top, too much money change hands.

I don't see any change in future.

Strong political support. His marriage was a live telecast event. Jaitley gave his own bunglow for wedding. BJP MP Verma was escorting him everywhere. Congress MLA, NCP all were competing for wedding decoration.
<b>Grieving Pakistan captain Inzamam quits one-day cricket</b><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq on Sunday announced his retirement from one-day cricket after <b>his team's humiliating exit from the World Cup and the death of coach Bob Woolmer</b>.

Mostly agree with u, except that Agarkar should be replaced with Sreesanth. Agarkar is a horrible bowler. Check the commentary log of every one of his matches, he will give atleast one 4-ball per over releasing the pressure completely. Zaheer was also similar, but has marginally improved the last 6 months.
Also someone should break harbhajan's hand/leg so that Ramesh Powar can be brought to this worldcup.

<b>India secure highest total in history of World Cup</b><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->India set an imposing 414-run target for Bermuda in their second World Cup Group B league match at Queen's Oval Park in Trinidad on Monday. It is the highest total scored by a team in World Cup history.

Electing to field, Bermuda got an early breakthrough as seamer Malachi Jones packed off Robin Uthappa for three. Dwayne Leverock took an excellent catch diving to the right in the first slip to grab the ball single-handed.

Virender Sehwag showed signs of his return by hitting a brisk century. Accompanied by the in-form Sourav Ganguly, he built a 202-run partnership to prop up the Indian innings. But soon the right-hander was dismissed by pacer Kevin Hurdle for 114 runs which came off just 87 balls including 17 boundaries and three sixes
