U.S is giving social service amounting to several billions. But in India there is no such thing.
So reservation must be there.
Ofcourse the creamy layer must be removed.
Brahmins are good in memory power not in Intelligence like the jews. Chartered Accountancy Exam is not to educate but to eliminate. Only 2% qualify. CA exam is a test for memory and not for intelligence.
Handicapped quota must be given for the aravani's , low IQ people, mentally and physically challenged etc.

Brahmins must be sent out of India. Then India will prosper. They are a cunning lot, (but not intelligent like Jews)<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->Hiya Rachel.
Did you know that Christianity is terrorism?

Why don't you christians get out of the Americas (leave the Native Americans in peace) and out of Africa and out of Korea and out of.... well, everywhere. And while you're at it, get out of India too. Then we'll all prosper. And take your lying with you. You terrorist.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Brahmins must be sent out of India. Then India will prosper.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->Huh? Let me see if I can even fathom this 'logic'. A percentage-wise tiny proportion of Hindus in India - who aren't getting reservations anyhoo - sent packing from India will ensure "India will prosper"? According to your christoterrorist logic, India is in more dire straits than anyone imagined... Thankfully, christians aren't known for logic, reason, maths, education or other such things (you guys destroyed all the schools in Greece and the Roman Empire ya know and burnt them famous Greek libraries down too). India will prosper with all Hindus in it. It's you terrorists that we can do without.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->U.S is giving social service amounting to several billions.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->That is so true! They are giving billions to the Jihadistan/Terrorist State of Pakistan. Social service, indeed. Matchless.

Rachel, why don't you go burn down your local library or bring down a nearby school, or terrorise small communities. I know you christians need a hobby.

Or maybe you're holding out to join the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA):

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>NCA Raping Has Got To Stop!</b>
Norwegian Magazine publishes letter from ex-NCA employee woman who states that <b>NCA took no action in Africa to stop staff from using prostitues and sexually abusing young indigenous women.</b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->We reiterate, in our interview with NCA staff in Vientiane, they told us that "sex is free with the Akha". We find NCA posturing at this time offensive and offensive to the women in Muang Long and the Akha villages in Muang Long who suffered under the brutal hand of NCA during opium eradication procedures and <b>the rapes and the pregnancies forced on Akha women by NCA staff.</b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

By the way, Rachel, did you know http://www.JesusNeverExisted.com/ ?
Don't let christianity bite ya on your way out!

Dear Sri. G. Subramaniam,

Read your postings on Reservations. You look very broad minded in your outlook, though I see that a non-brahmin reading the comments are sure to get hurt. Since, you have quoted about meeting Periyavaal of Kanchi math, I was wondering whether you have read a discourse of Periyavaal posted at this site

http://www.kamakoti.org/hindudharma/part3/chap6.htm

This article/discourse will answer the cause for the anti-brahmin attitude in Tamil Nadu.

I very much agree with your observation that if the brahmin was interested to confer Dwijahood on communities that practised Krishi-Vaanijya-GoRaksha as described by Lord Krishna in Bhagawad Gita, such a situation would not have arised as we see in other states of India.

If you send me a personal email, I would be interested to correspond with you. My personal email is ramak20@hotmail.com

I live in Phoenix, Arizona. Married with two kids and graduated from IITM in 1986.

Reservations are unjust and beyond all reasonable limits in TN. However, that need not discourage Hindus who are discriminated against.

It is well known that almost all of the institutes in India are worthless, and that one really cant get educated here. The much hyped IITs/NITs/AIIMS also owe their success primarily to what a few of their students achieve abroad and not due to any special merit of the institutes themselves. Moreover, undergraduate studies matter less in this age of hyper specialization, where everyone has to keep constantly learning on the job. The above institutes were built in another era when the knowledge itself was valuable, and not easily accessible to all, whereas nowadays managing information, abstraction and problem solving are the all important skills. These skills are partly hereditary and partly learned, and a person having these qualities is bound to succeed sooner or later even if he is from a "lesser" college.

These degree granting institutions will continue to produce the same types of graduates as before. Though there may be a preliminary advantage in terms of opportunities, ultimately their abilities and effort will decide their fate.
A good grasp of the basics and the foundational knowledge of a subject is all that is required to be productive in this age. I do not see any positive or negative effects that reservations will bring about.

As far as one can see, Tamil Brahmanas have somewhat succeeded in spite of all odds.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->CHENNAI: In an ironical development, a community that was provided reservation in educational institutions and jobs said it does not want the provision. Christians in Tamil Nadu said the 3.5% exclusive reservation made for them in education and employment should be abrogated, contending that they had realised that quota hurt their interests instead of benefiting them.

Tourism minister Suresh Rajan, who belongs to Kanyakumari district which has a huge Christian population, took a delegation of Christian leaders to meet chief minister M Karunanidhi and formally requested him to cancel the quota introduced last year for the community.

Bishop of Kottar Rev Peter Remigius, state minorities commission chairman Fr Vincent Chinnadurai, all MLAs and one MP from Kanyakumari district, were part of the delegation. "<span style='color:red'>This reservation is not beneficial to the Christian community, as we were doing better when we were competing with other backward classes for 30% OBC reservation. As an educated community, we were doing well, but the quota now restricts our job opportunities and admissions</span>," Fr Chinnadurai told TOI.   <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Citing an example, he said in the ongoing MBBS admission process, out of 2,699 seats, Christians could only get 94 seats (3.5%), whereas they could have got more than 300 seats if the entire 30% OBC quota was open to them.

He said the CM responded by saying he had brought in exclusive reservation for minorities only because he wanted to help them. If the measure didn’t benefit the Christians, he was ready to review it. However, the CM made it clear that the matter would have to be referred to the state backward classes commission, headed by justice (retd) M S Janarthanam, <b>which had recommended such quotas in the first place</b>.

When the state government promulgated an ordinance for providing an exclusive quota for Christians and Muslims in education and employment last year, it was widely welcomed by both communities.

To avoid giving an impression that it was based on religion, the government had made it applicable to only those Christian and Muslim sects already included in the OBC list.

The two community quotas of 3.5% each were introduced as compartments within the 30% OBC quota. The state has a total of 69% reservation for various categories. G John Joseph and A Rajan, both MLAs from Kanyakumari, said the community’s interests would be affected if the exclusive quota was implemented every year.

They wanted to be part of OBC and not exclusive christian category. It is not a paradox, but missionary strategy.

What is this fetish with IQ? IQ is nothing but a system created by Whites to judge other people with them being on top.

IQ is GARBAGE!! it does not measure person's social, communications and/or other many skills. It just measures the person ability to compute not Create!!!

Can u clarify what u mean by "create"?

Do u mean wealth creation or creativity?

I think this topic is more suited for the thread on IQ.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->IQ is GARBAGE!! it does not measure person's social, communications and/or other many skills. It just measures the person ability to compute not Create!!!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->Craptastic. I've got none of them skills. I don't compute at all anymore and what I could do before was nothing to write home about either. Social skills - hahahahaha. (Well, I do have lots of friends but I don't do any socialising. Does that count?) Communications... I can't even spell about 30% of the time; or maybe that's 50%, depending on the accuracy of my mathematical estimations. And I end up writing long essays in an attempt to get a point across that takes others maybe 2 sentences to 2 paras tops. I'd laugh at it all, but it's sad really. Create? Hmmmm. Wait... I hear My Ego whispering - loudly and rather obnoxiously actually - it says an undeniable "Yes!". But I wouldn't believe it if I were you. It's got an overdeveloped sense of self-importance. Until it has something substantial to show for its boasting, it's all Void anyways. But it doesn't bother me. I have made every dream I've had so far a reality. And I will make that final one as well. <i>Nothing</i> can stop me.

On another matter, Einstein was a creative physicist genius, so IQ and creativity are not mutually exclusive. It was not clear from your post whether you were implying that it was or not, but I merely mention this in passing.

For the rest, there's really no need to worry though. The world is full of people. We live, we die. (And in between, a handful will hopefully get out of inertia and do something of substance - if it's not too much to hope for.) If you're Dharmic: we get reborn. Tomorrow some may well be less fortunate than today. And others more fortunate. What people do with the capabilities they have now is all that matters and all that's in their control. Just make it count. The rest is not your problem. Success is in tangible achievement, not in mere promised or alleged potential that may or may just as well not deliver.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Do u mean wealth creation<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->And yet another box I can't tick. Not my day is it.
