"In Buddha era, CPM winds of reform blow away Kerala hardliner
RAJEEV PI" http://www.indianexpress.com/story/534.html
Interesting spin/plant in Indian Express on VS/Pinarayi fight. VS has been called a stalinist leader with Pinarayi holding on to reform candles.
More amusing is the spin on CPI-M's corporatization -
" Clearly, the hardliners were getting to be increasingly embarrassing to the CPM leadership. The party has been moving steadily away from its own traditional but unviable labour-centric initiatives that it once swore by, like the Kerala Dinesh Bidi Co-operative now in its death throes, for more practical business options.
The party now runs a couple of commercial TV channels, is building world-class amusement/theme parks, constructing air-conditioned auditoria, plush corporate hospitals and hypermarketsâand looking to invest in a slew of other new-age businesses too. "
So is the media finally acknowledging that CPI-M has transfromed itself from a political party to an unincorporated corporation with strong legislative and mafia interests. Does any of our "intellecutuals" or analysts realize the dangers of a political party turning into investors?
