I some times feel that even educated Indians are more interested in finding differences than finding commonalities between different group of Indians. No wonder we were colonized for 1000 years.
One of the best known commentary on Indian nation was written by Swami Vivekananda. He had debunked this North - South and Aryan- Non Aryan divide thoroughly.
Speaking of Hinduism being a north Indian phenomenon, surprisingly Shankaracharya, considered to be a Shiva avatar, came from Kerala and revived Hinduism when Buddhism had dealt a big blow to it and India could have suffered the same fate as that of Afghanistan which was almost a Buddhist country before it was run over by mohamadden bandits. Just to add, Ramanujacharya, Madhavacharya, Ramana Maharishi all came from South.
