The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday cornered Congress on the floor of the House of the Delhi Assembly saying that while on the one hand, the Government has been showing complete compliance when it comes to High Court and Supreme Court's ruling on sealing, it has been dragging its feet over "identifying and deporting" Bangladeshi nationals from the Capital, a suggestion which too was given by the courts. Raising the issue in the Assembly, Delhi BJP Chief Dr Harshvardhan moved an adjournment motion in the House and demanded discussion on the sealing issue.
He asked if the UPA and Delhi Congress Governments honour the courts so much then why does it not comply with orders in which the Supreme Court and the High Court have directed them to deport more than five lakh Bangladeshis staying illegally in the Capital.
"It may be mentioned that due to illegal infiltration of these people some big criminal incidents occurred every week. The Bangladeshis looters and murderers have created terror in Delhi. The Congress is not interested in driving them out of Delhi. On the other hand, the traders who have contributed to the development and prosperity of Delhi for the last 50 years are being ruined by the Congress on the pretext of court orders," Harshvardhan said.
As soon as the House assembled, Harshvardhan stood up from his seat and demanded that this House should discuss the issue as sealing drive had resumed from Wednesday. The BJP's lone member Harshvardhan, who was not present in the House on Tuesday, tried to corner the Government that the same Government has failed to implement the court orders on Bangladeshi nationals illegally residing in Delhi and deport them, but this order is yet to be implemented.Â
