Agra, Aug 29: Violence erupted here after four persons were run over by a speeding vehicle, with<b> angry protesters torching 20 trucks prompting authorities to clamp curfew in Nai Ki Mandi and Mantola area</b>.

Following the accident, the members of the community took to streets, stopping vehicular movement in the Dhakran crossing area. They also torched 20 trucks. Curfew has been imposed and additional police force has been deployed in the violence-affected areas.
"Efforts are on to bring the situation under control," District Magistrate, Agra, Mukesh Meshram said. Authorities have ordered for closure of educational institutions in the city as a precautionary measure.Â
