Dear Sri. G. Subramaniam,
Read your postings on Reservations. You look very broad minded in your outlook, though I see that a non-brahmin reading the comments are sure to get hurt. Since, you have quoted about meeting Periyavaal of Kanchi math, I was wondering whether you have read a discourse of Periyavaal posted at this site
http://www.kamakoti.org/hindudharma/part3/chap6.htm
This article/discourse will answer the cause for the anti-brahmin attitude in Tamil Nadu.
I very much agree with your observation that if the brahmin was interested to confer Dwijahood on communities that practised Krishi-Vaanijya-GoRaksha as described by Lord Krishna in Bhagawad Gita, such a situation would not have arised as we see in other states of India.
If you send me a personal email, I would be interested to correspond with you. My personal email is ramak20@hotmail.com
I live in Phoenix, Arizona. Married with two kids and graduated from IITM in 1986.
