Capitalism vs Socialism
#23
As most questions posed here are inane and repetitive, I am not gonna respond individually. So let me summarize in a way that the intellectually challenged can comprehend. <!--emo&Smile--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Cappie: I own resources, so I can hire and fire workers at will.

Socialist: What do you mean by resources? Are you referring to raw materials in particular?

C: No, the machinery...

S: Created by labor

C: Commodities that I sell to consumers...

S: Created by labor. <!--emo&Tongue--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->

C: Fine, but what about raw materials? They just exist in nature, labor didn't create that. And since I own them, I am right, and you're wrong. See, I got you!

S: Not quite. How did you acquire those raw materials?

C: By paying for it, of course.

S: How did you pay for it? Did the money materialize out of thin air?

C: No, I made that money...

S: But how?

C: By selling commodities.

S: And those commodities were also products of labor!

C: Oops! <!--emo&<_<--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='dry.gif' /><!--endemo-->

S: See what I mean? Even the alleged capital with which you acquired those raw materials was a product of previous labor. Which means, not only the commodities you create now, but the capital with which you create them is a product of previous labor.

C(scratching his head): Does this mean I own nothing, labor owns all.

S: Yes, but even the workers don't realize this, just see the arguments put forth by India-Forum workers defending you against all odds!

C: So workers are that stupid, eh?

S: It would seem so. So enjoy while it lasts, honey. <!--emo&:beer--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='cheers.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Hopefully, this simplified version may help some people understand things better. Funny how Hindus, of all people, argue in favor of capitalism when it screwed them many times over.
