The Christian Aid-backed National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights, which began in 1998, brings together concerned individuals and groups working among Dalits, the lowest caste in India. The aim is to dismantle India’s hidden apartheid and create protection for its most vulnerable people, the Dalits, who comprise 160 million of India's one billion population.
