Inside work or Karachi effect?
Low grade explosion means either warning to someone (Bukhari) in mosque or takeover push by Deaoband?

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Two blasts took place inside the Jama Masjid complex on Friday evening, injuring at least three people, police sources said.

Five fire tenders, ambulances and police squads have rushed to the spot.

The first explosion took place at around 5.30 pm when devotees were preparing for 'Asar' (evening) prayer near a pond used by them for ablutions.

Fifteen minutes later, another blast rocked the place, eye witnesses said.

Jama Masjid spokesman Amanullah Khan told rediff.com, "We were caught unawares. There was no alert warning given to us by the Delhi police nor were we told that there was any risk of such blasts."

"<b>Since it was prayer time, not many people were present at the spot where the twin blasts took place,</b>" he said, adding, "A large number of worshippers have gathered here. They are agitated about the blasts and are refusing to go away."<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->The explosions came within minutes of each other at about 1700 local time (1130 GMT).

"The blasts took place near a water tank used by worshippers," a mosque official, Mr Amanullah, told the BBC.

He said that most worshippers were inside the mosque and not by the tank when the blasts took place.

<b>Imam Bukhari said he thought worshippers had been deliberately targeted.

"We did not see the first explosion but the second one definitely originated from a plastic bag that was kept inside the prayer grounds," Imam Bukhari told the AFP news agency.

"The second blast went off as people were helping those injured and if this is not a terror attack then what is?"

"There is anger among our people but I am appealing to them to maintain calm." </b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Only Sky news is saying 2 dead and they are calling it powerful.

Figures are widely varying. I even saw some story about 27 injured etc.. But this 2 dead thing is mentioned only in a few places. Need to confirm this. Also need to confirm whether shrapnel was indeed used - if so what kind of shrapnel. Bottomline I want to know if the blast was indeed credible.

Rajesh,
if you see this
link, no hole on floor, infact it is intact, only dark. Plus side wall is intact. No nail extra.
Check, people are so close and cop is bare foot and holding evidence without gloves?

Looks like somebody left his thala where he must be sitting. Intention was not to harm people.

How did he know ?

One can't trust Imam Bukhari. He is always first in line to spread rumors, he can beat Laloo in this trade. <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

<b>Crude chemical mixture used to trigger Jama Masjid blasts</b><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Pottasium Chlorate and Sulphur mixed with acid -- a crude form of explosives -- were used to trigger Friday's twin explosions inside the 17th century Jama Masjid in New Delhi.
............
The two chemicals were mixed with acid along with some splinters to cause injuries to the devout.
...
Though the same mixture is used for manufacturing of detonators, the one used today was completely in its crude form and could only blacken the surface where it was planted, the sources added.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
