NEW DELHI: The RSS has won a positive endorsement from the UPA government. The Tribal Affairs ministry in its annual report has recognised the services of four RSS affiliated organisations and has listed it in the select category to grant relaxation while providing grants. An elated RSS has put the endorsement on the top of its website with the headline: âSangh activities win union ministryâs approval.â The website, rss.org, says âWhile the UPA government and its coalition partners especially the Leftists oppose the RSS, the government had to laud the service rendered by various RSS associated organisations in different parts of the country. About one third of the 14 voluntary organisations whom the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has identified in its annual report for their outstanding services, are RSS associated organisations.â âThe Ministry of Tribal Affairs implements its welfare schemes for all-round development with the help of voluntary organisations. The Ministry has identified 14 organisations, which produced remarkable results through implementation of its various schemes. The ministry has put them in a special category to grant relaxations while providing grants for next year,â it said. The RSS affiliates which have been listed are Vidya Bharati, Sewa Bharati, Deendayal Research Institute New Delhi and Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. The Ministry is working on four major schemes with the participation of voluntary organisations. They include grant to the organisations working for the welfare of the tribal, literacy campaigns among tribal women, running of vocational training centres and development of various tribal communities. www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=1038143

Muslim team against bullet-proofing Ayodhya temple New Delhi, July. 10 (PTI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today told a delegation that plans to protect the makeshift Ram temple in Ayodhya with a bulletproof shield cannot be shelved, Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Shoaib Iqbal, leader of the delegation, said. Iqbal said after the meeting that Singh cited last year's terrorist attack on the sacred compound as the primary reason behind the new security plan for the site. "The Prime Minister said he won't take any risk. He said another attack could lead to a very serious situation and therefore it was necessary to build a bulletproof shield around the site," the JD(S) leader said. Disappointed with the Prime Minister's refusal to drop the plans for protection of the makeshift temple in Ayodhya, Iqbal vowed to create political pressure on the government to force it to withdraw its decision. "He rejected our request one hundred per cent and now we will mobilise support of the UPA allies as well as the Left to make the government drop this plan which we feel will give legitimacy to the existing temple there. We would like the allies to pull down the government if it does not accept our demand," Iqbal said. In its reaction, the BJP described as "highly inappropriate" the demand for withdrawal of plans to provide a bullet-proof cover to the makeshift temple. "There is a Ram temple which has faced an attack before. The government must ensure its safety. We believe it's the government's responsibility to ensure all places of worship are safe. Any opposition to such plans is highly inappropriate," BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said.

Ascent of the anti-Hindus
Barely a month after his visit to New Delhi for support in rebuilding his Maoist-ravaged country, Nepal's appointed interim Prime Minister GP Koirala has delivered his unhappy nation into the hands of its worst tormentor and retired to a hospital bed. Whispers from Kathmandu suggest that Prachanda, would-be President-King of the former Hindu kingdom, is a Christian. There is little reason to doubt these voices, as similar murmurings about LTTE supremo V Prabhakaran proved correct, and Sri Lanka's Tamil Hindus admit that the organisation does not serve their political, economic or cultural interests in any way. Its objective is to provide its covert Western backers a foothold in the region. With Prachanda's ascent in India's hinterland, the West has executed a far greater coup than the secession of East Timor from Indonesia. If South Block is unmoved, it is only because an Italian Roman Catholic has successfully subverted the national ethos and subjugated the country to American geo-strategic interests. It is truly shocking that New Delhi has refused to react to the fact that an aged politician, appointed for an interim period in the wake of a popular agitation, has inaugurated the most audacious changes in Nepal's polity without any mandate from the Nepali people. Instead of supporting Hindu Nepal, its civilisational ally, the Sonia Gandhi-dominated UPA regime is shamelessly working to accomplish the West-sponsored Maoist agenda. The centuries-old Hindu character of the country has been tossed aside, and the monarchy and the Royal Nepal Army which symbolise the nation discredited. Though the supposedly popular uprising (the cognoscenti say the streets were crammed with paid lumpens) aimed at electing a government and restoring the democratic process, it now transpires that Nepal is going to be subverted through a new constituent assembly, which was never on the people's agenda. It is true that King Gyanendra is not respected like his late brother. Yet realisation is beginning to dawn in some quarters that the political parties that constituted Nepal's fractious democratic process have been rendered completely irrelevant by plans for a new constituent assembly. This is because the Seven Party Alliance (SPA) regime is being blackmailed by Maoist threats of renewed violence and bloodshed, and this threat may impact upon the results whenever elections are held. Prachanda, dreaming of the Nepali version of the Imperial Presidency, is advocating United Nations supervision of the polls, when everyone knows that the UN is an agent of the West, especially under Kofi Annan. America is seeking to enthrone Christian stooges wherever it has strategic interests. Ideology is a ruse, mere washable distemper. This will become apparent when the new constitution officially abolishes the Hindu nature of the State and espouses minority rights, despite the fact that there were no minorities in Nepal until the West and the ISI jointly evangelised the region as part of a policy of containing India. Nepal's new constitution will offer freedom of religion (sic), a euphemism for the freedom to convert Nepalis to Christianity. Eradication of the Hindu character of Nepal is the sole raison d'etre for the present de facto regime change, and its instigators are the American-led West, operating through anti-Hindu communist groups in both India and Nepal. Notwithstanding their pretended anti-imperialist rhetoric, there should be no misunderstanding that Communists serve any power other than the West. Russia is officially non-Communist and China is Communist in name only. Left radicals enjoy untold luxury and wealth solely in America, populating its elite universities and NGOs. They are Christian America's natural allies in hurting the native civilisational ethos in non-Christian countries targetted by the West, and are doing a thorough job in Nepal. The great Pashupatinath mandir, as critical to Nepal's cultural traditions as India's Vishwanath temple at Varanasi, has been singled out for secular assault. It has been asked to submit its accounts for scrutiny by unelected unbelievers. This is an outrage, an act of iconoclasm as grave as the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas by the American-trained Taliban. If Nepalis fail to respond to this insult with the ferocity it deserves, they should be prepared to witness the cross replacing the shikar over the sanctum sanctorum. Prachanda has made several revealing statements. Last year, he told Time magazine that when he launched the so-called people's war in 1996, he did not have a single modern weapon or any trained armed cadres (April 18, 2005). Anybody who has observed the insurgency in India's North-East would readily identify the religious affiliations of the international sponsors of such 'people's movements.' More importantly, Prachanda is determined to keep his arms and armed cadres intact even after elections to the proposed constituent assembly are over. This is obviously to secure an advantage (sic) which the elections might deny him. He could then emulate Lenin and enact a Winter Palace-style of coup against the country's effete politicians, who have so far behaved with sheep-like stupidity. This has emboldened him to suggest that his Maoist insurgents could join and take over the Royal Nepal Army (RNA)! Ms Sonia Gandhi's supremacy having ensured an unfriendly India, it is not known what kind of cards the King and Army still retain to defeat this virtual colonisation of Nepal. But it is almost certain that they cannot beat back this challenge alone. Nepal's notoriously divisive political parties have not shown any awareness of the nature of the threat facing the nation, so it is too early to say if they can unite with the King and Army for a larger purpose. If Prachanda formally seizes all power in Nepal, there is little doubt that America will seek bases on Nepali soil, in order to 'contain' China. This does not augur well for India. Yet we must prepare for this eventuality, as there is no other reason to plant a Christian in Kathmandu. The 21st century seems set to witness a major geographical realignment with old national boundaries being merged into larger conglomerates. America already calls the shots in Pakistan and through it, in Bangladesh. It has bases in Afghanistan, and Tibetan leader, the Dalai Lama, has been cultivated and controlled through a Hollywood star. Christian supremos have been put in place in India and Nepal, while Christian protégés are being promoted in Sri Lanka and Myanmar. That gives you a new political entity already christened by the US State Department - South Asia. Not a nice thought; not one that can be readily dismissed either.

Hindutva is a way of life: Sitaram Kedalaya
6/25/2006 2:56:44 PM Newindpress BIDAR (Karnataka): Rashtreeya Sawayam Sevak Sangh has been working for bringing unity among various communities of the country, said Sitaram Kedalaya, Akhil Bharat Saha Pracharak of the RSS. At an interaction programme held at Basavakalyan on Friday, he said, ââHindutva is the only ideology that will bring unity among the all communities of the country." He claimed that Hindutva stands above all obligations in uniting Indians. He described it as a way of life, not a social class. Hindutva preaches equality, irrespective of communities. Hence there is no need to adopt any Western secular theory, he added. "The tradition and culture of India was not given priority in the countryâs education system during the British raj. Their education system has led only to enslavement.
So, some people believe that radical Xtian elements in the west are creating christian leaders everywhere. That's very interesting. Ofcourse these folks will have to find a way to deal with people like me who arn't going anywhere in a hurry. THere is a fairly large, educated, and solidly Hindu bunch of people. With economics on our side, we may just be the boot that breaks the crosses back.
Do you believe this is a new technique to use Emperor Constantine like tactics and make the head of state Christian in an attempt to control the country or has this been going on for a while ? Hinduism's fragmented Jati/tribal structure will prevent a Roman Empire style change in religion. Our Clan based society gives us strength. It may not be the right way or the wrong way, but it's definetly the vedic way. QUOTE(acharya @ Jul 11 2006, 01:18 AM)Ascent of the anti-Hindus Barely a month after his visit to New Delhi for support in rebuilding his Maoist-ravaged country, Nepal's appointed interim Prime Minister GP Koirala has delivered his unhappy nation into the hands of its worst tormentor and retired to a hospital bed. Lala Hardayal on the Hindu-Muslim problem and the solution for it:
QUOTE"I declare that the future of the Hindu race, of Hindustan and of the Punjab, rests on these four pillars: (1) Hindu Sangathan, (2) Hindu Raj, (3) Shuddhi of Moslems, and (4) Conquest and Shuddhi of Afghanistan and the Frontiers. So long as the Hindu nation does not accomplish these four things, the safely of our children and great-grandchildren will be ever in danger, and the safety of the Hindu race will be impossible. The Hindu race has but one history, and its institutions are homogeneous. But the Musalmans and Christians are far removed from the confines of Hindustan, for their religions are alien and they love Persian, Arab and European institutions. Thus, just as one removes foreign matter from the eye, Shuddhi must be made of these two religions. Afghanistan and the hilly regions of the frontier were formerly part of India, but are at present under the domination of Islam. . . .Just as there is Hindu religion in Nepal, so there must be Hindu institutions in Afghanistan and the frontier territory; otherwise it is useless to win Swaraj. For mountain tribes are always warlike and hungry. If they become our enemies, the age of Nadirshah and Zamanshah will begin anew. At present English officers are protecting the frontiers; but it cannot always be. . . .If Hindus want to protect themselves, they must conquer Afghanistan and the frontiers and convert all the mountain tribes." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2

Some of Savarkar's own thoughts (a lot of which I agree with, and some of which I don't such as his definition of Hindu and having Sanskritised Hindi as the national/link language instead of complete Sanskrit) and also the part where he says the state may provide assistance to minorities to build their own schools along with Hindus and some other things:
QUOTE"In expounding the ideology of the Hindu movement, it is absolutely necessary to have a correct grasp of the meaning attached to these three terms. From the word "Hindu" has been coined the word "Hinduism" in English. It means the schools or system of Religion the Hindus follow. The second word "Hindutva" is far more comprehensive and refers not only to the religious aspects of the Hindu people as the word "Hinduism" does but comprehend even their cultural, linguistic, social and political aspects as well. It is more or less akin to "Hindu Polity" and its nearly exact translation would be "Hinduness." The third word "Hindudom" means the Hindu people spoken of collectively. It is a collective name for the Hindu World, just as Islam denotes the Moslem World." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE"It has come to my notice that a very large section of the English educated Hindus hold back from joining the Hindu Maha Sabha. . . .under the erroneous idea that it is an exclusively Religious organizationâ something like a Christian Mission. Nothing could be far from truth. The Hindu Maha Sabha is not a Hindu Mission. It leaves Religious questions regarding theism, monotheism. Pantheism or even atheism to be discussed and determined by the different Hindu schools of religious persuasions. It is not a Hindu Dharma Maha Sabha, but a Hindu National Maha Sabha. Consequently by its very constitution it is debarred to associate itself exclusively as a partisan with any particular religious school or sect even within the Hindu fold. As a national Hindu body it will of course propagate and defend the National Hindu Church comprising each and all religions of Hindusthani origin against any non-Hindu attack or encroachment. But the sphere of its activity is far more comprehensive than that of an exclusively religious body. The Hindu Maha Sabha identifies itself with the National life of Hindudom in all its entirety, in all its social, economical, cultural and above all political aspects and is pledged to protect and promote all that contributes to the freedom, strength and glory of the Hindu Nation; and as an indispensable means to that end to attain Purna Swarajya, absolute political Independence of Hindusthan by all legitimate and proper means." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE". . . .Many a superficial critic seems to fancy that the Maha Sabha was only contrived to serve as a make-weight, as a reaction checkmating the Moslem League or the anti-Hindu policy of the present leaders of the Congress and will be out of court or cease automatically to function as soon as it is shorne of this spurious excuse to exist. But if the aims and object of the Maha Sabha mean anything it is clear that it was not the outcome of any frothy effusion, any fussy agitation to remove a grievance here or oppose a seasonal party there. The fact is that every organism whether, individual or social which is living and deserves to survive throws out offensive and defensive organs as soon as it is brought to face adversely changing environments. The Hindu Nation too as soon as it recovered and freed itself from the suffocating grip of the pseudo-nationalistic ideology of the Congress brand developed a new organ to battle in the struggle for existence under the changed conditions of modem age. This was the Hindu Maha Sabha. It grew up of a fundamental necessity of the National life and not of any ephemeral incident. The constructive side of its aims and objects make it amply clear that its mission is as abiding as the life of the Nation itself. But that apart, even the day to day necessity of adapting its policy to the ever changing political currents makes it incumbent on Hindudom to have an exclusively Hindu organization independent of any moral or intellectual servility or subservience to any non-Hindu or jointly representative institution, to guard Hindu interests and save them from being jeopardised. It is not so, only under the present political subjection of Hindustan but it will be all the more necessary to have some such exclusively Hindu organization, some such Hindu Maha Sabha in substance whether it is identical with this present organization or otherwise to -serve as a watchtower at the gates of Hindudom for at least a couple of centuries to come, even after Hindustan is partially or wholly free and a National Parliament controls its political destiny. "Because, unless something altogether cataclysmic in nature upsets the whole political order of things in the world which practical politics cannot envisage today, all that can be reasonably expected in immediate future is that we Hindus may prevail over England and compel her to recognise India as a self-governing unit with the status contemplated in the Westminster Statute. Now a National Parliament in such a self-governing India can only reflect the electorate as it is, the Hindus and the Moslems as we find them, their relations a bit bettered, perhaps a bit worsened. No realist can be blind to the probability that the extraterritorial designs and the secret urge goading on the Moslems to transform India into a Moslem stale may at any time confront the Hindustani state even under self-government either with a Civil War or treacherous overtures to alien invaders by the Moslems. Then again there is every likelihood that there will ever continue at least for a century to come a danger of fanatical riots, the scramble for services, legislative seats, weightages out of proportion to their population on the part of the Moslem minority and consequently a constant danger threatening internal peace. To checkmate this probability which if we are wise we must always keep in view even after Hindustan attains the status of a self-governing country, a powerful and exclusive organization of Hindudom like the Hindu Maha Sabha will always prove a sure and devoted source of strength, a reserve force for the Hindus to fall back upon to voice their grievances more effectively than the joint Parliament can do, to scent danger ahead, to warn the Hindus in time against it and to fight out if need be any treacherous design to which the joint state itself may unwittingly fall a victim. "The History of Canada, of Palestine,of the movement of the Young Turks will show you that in every slate where two or more such conflicting elements as the Hindus and Moslems in India happen to exist as constituents, the wiser of them has to keep its exclusive organization intact, strong and watchful to defeat any attempt at betrayal or capture of the National State by the opposite party; especially so if that party has extra-territorial affinities, religious or cultural, with alien bordering states." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE"Swaraj to the Hindus must mean only that in which their "Swaraj," their "Hindutva" can assert itself without being overlorded by any non-Hindu people, whether they be Indian Territorials or extra-Territorialsâ-some Englishmen are and may continue to be territorially born Indians. Can, therefore, the overlordships of these Anglo-indians be a "Swarajya" to the Hindus? Aurangzeb or Tipu were hereditary Indians, nay, were the sons of converted Hindu mothers. Did that mean that the rule of Aurangzeb or Tipu was a "Swarajya" to the Hindus? No! Although they were territorially Indians they proved to be the worst enemies of Hindudom and therefore, a Shivaji, a Gobindsingh, a Pratap or the Peshwas had to fight against the Moslem domination and establish real Hindu Swarajya." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE"The name "Hindustan" must continue to be the appellation of our country. Such other names as India, Hind, etc., being derived from the same original word Sindhu may be used but only to signify the same senseâthe land of the Hindus, a country which is the abode of the Hindu Nation. Aryavarta, Bharat-Bhumi and such other names are of course the ancient and the most cherished epithets of our Mother Land and will continue to appeal to the cultured elite. In this insistence that the Mother Land of the Hindus must be called but "Hindustan," no encroachment or humiliation is implied in connection with any of our non-Hindu countrymen. Our Parsee and Christian countrymen are already too akin to us culturally and .arc too patriotic and the Anglo-indians too sensible to refuse to fall in line with us Hindus on so legitimate a ground. So far as our Moslem countrymen are concerned it is useless to conceal the fact that some of them are already inclined to look upon this molehill also as an insuperable mountain in their way to Hindu-Moslem unity. But they should remember that the Moslems do not dwell only in India nor are the Indian Moslems the only heroic remnants of the Faithful in Islam. China has crores of Moslems. Greece, Palestine and even Hungary and Poland have thousands of Moslems amongst their nationals. But being there a minority, only a community, their existence in these countries has never been advanced as a ground to change the ancient names of these countries which indicate the abodes of those races whose overwhelming majority owns the land. The country of the Poles continues to be Poland and of the Grecians as Greece. The Moslems there did not or dared not to distort them but are quite content to distinguish themselves as Polish Moslems or Grecian Moslems or Chinese Moslems when occasion arises, so also our Moslem countrymen may distinguish themselves nationally or territorially whenever they want, as "Hindustance Moslems" without compromising in the least their separateness as Religious or Cultural entity. Nay, the Moslems have been calling themselves as "Hindustanis" ever since their advent in India, of their own accord. "But if in spite of it all some irascible Moslem sections amongst our countrymen object even to this name of our Country, that is no reason why we should play cowards to our own conscience. We Hindus must not betray or break up the continuity of our Nation from the Sindhus in Rigvedic days to the Hindus of our own generation which is implied in "Hindustan," the accepted appellation of our Mother Land. Just as the land of the Germans is Germany, of the English England, of the Turks Turkistan, of the Afghans Afghanistanâeven so we must have it indelibly impressed on the map of the earth for all times to come a "Hindustan"âthe land of the "Hindus." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE"The Sanskrit shall be our "devabhasha" (Deva Bhasha)/10/ our sacred language and the "Sanskrit Nishtha"/11/ Hindi, the Hindi which is derived from Sanskrit and draws its nourishment from the latter, is our "rashtrabhasha" (Rashtra Bhasha)/12/ our current national languageâ-besides being the richest and the most cultured of the ancient languages of the world, to us Hindus the Sanskrit is the holiest tongue of tongues. Our scriptures, history, philosophy and culture have their roots so deeply imbedded in the Sanskrit literature that it forms veritably the brain of our Race. Mother of the majority of our mother tongues, she has suckled the rest of them at her breast. All Hindu languages current today whether derived from Sanskrit or grafted on to it can only grow and flourish on the sap of life they imbibe from Sanskrit. The Sanskrit language therefore must ever be an indispensable constituent of the classical course for Hindu youths. "In adopting the Hindi as the National tongue of Hindudom no humiliation or any invidious distinction is implied as regards other provincial tongues. We are all as attached to our provincial tongues as to Hindi and they will all grow and flourish in their respective spheres. In fact some of them are today more progressive and richer in literature. But nevertheless, taken all in all the Hindi can serve the purpose of a National Pan-Hindu language best. It must also be remembered that the Hindi is not made a National Language to order. The fact is that long before either the English or even the Moslems stepped in India the Hindi in its general form had already come to occupy the position of a National tongue throughout Hindustan. The Hindu pilgrim, the tradesman, the tourist, the soldier, the Pandit travelled up and down from Bengal to Sind and Kashmere to Rameshwar by making himself understood from locality to locality through Hindi. Just as the Sanskrit was the National Language of the Hindu intellectual world even so Hindi has been for at least a thousand years in the past the National Indian Tongue of the Hindu community..... "By Hindi we of course mean the pure "Sanskrit Nistha" Hindi, as we find it for example in the "Satyartha Prakash" written by Maharsi Dayananda Saraswati. How simple and untainted with a single unnecessary foreign word is that Hindi and how expressive withal! It may be mentioned in passing that Swami Dayanandaji was about the first Hindu leader who gave conscious and definite expression to the view that Hindi should be the Pan-Hindu National language of India. This "Sanskrit Nistha" Hindi has nothing to do with that hybrid, the so-called Hindusthani which is being hatched up by the Wardha scheme. It is nothing short of a linguistic monstrosity and must be ruthlessly suppressed. Not only that but it is our bounden duty to oust as ruthlessly all unnecessary alien words whether Arabian or English, from every Hindu tongueâwhether provincial or dialectical. . . . ". . . .Our Sanskrit alphabetical order is phonetically about the most perfect which the world has yet devised and almost all our current Indian scripts already follow it. The Nagari Script too follows this order. Like the Hindi language the Nagari Script too has already been current for centuries all over India amongst the Hindu literary circles for some two thousand years at any rate in the past and was even popularly nick-named as the "Shastri Lipi" the script of our Hindu Scriptures. . . .It is a matter of common knowledge that if Bengali or Gujarathi is printed in Nagari it is more or less understood by readers in several other provinces. To have only one common language throughout Hindustan at a stroke is impracticable and unwise. But to have the Nagari script as the only common script throughout Hindudom is much more feasible. Nevertheless, it should be borne in mind that the different Hindu scripts current in our different provinces have a future of their own and may flourish side by side with the Nagari. All that is immediately indispensable in the common interest of Hindudom as a whole is that the Nagari Script must be made a compulsory subject along with the Hindi language in every school in the case of Hindu students." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2

QUOTE"When once the Hindu Maha Sabha not only accepts but maintains the principles of "one man one vote" and the public services to go by merit alone added to the fundamental rights and obligations to be shared by all citizens alike irrespective of any distinction of Race or Religion. . . .any further mention of minority rights is on the principle not only unnecessary but self-contradictory. Because it again introduces a consciousness of majority and minority on Communal basis. But as practical politics requires it and as the Hindu Sanghatanists want to relieve our non-Hindu countrymen of even a ghost of suspicion, we are prepared to emphasise that the legitimate rights of minorities with regard to their Religion, Culture, and Language will be expressly guaranteed: on one condition only that the equal rights of the majority also must not in any case be encroached upon or abrogated. Every minority may have separate schools to train up their children in their own tongue, their own religious or cultural institutions and can receive Government help also for these,âbut always in proportion to the taxes they pay into the common exchequer. The same principle must of course hold good in case of the majority too.
"Over and above this, in case the constitution is not based on joint electorates and on the unalloyed National principle of one man one vote, but is based on the communal basis then those minorities who wish to have separate electorate or reserve seats will be allowed to have them,âbut always in proportion to their population and provided that it does not deprive the majority also of an equal right in proportion of its population too." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE"The Moslem minority in India will have the right to be treated as equal citizens, enjoying equal protection and civic rights in proportion to their population. The Hindu majority will not encroach on the legitimate rights of any non-Hindu minority. But in no case can the Hindu majority resign its right which as a majority it is entitled to exercise under any democratic and legitimate constitution. The Moslem minority in particular has not obliged the Hindus by remaining in minority and therefore, they must remain satisfied with the status they occupy and with the legitimate share of civic and political rights that is their proportionate due. It would be simply preposterous to endow the Moslem minority with the right of exercising a practical veto on the legitimate rights and privileges of the majority and call it a "Swarajya." The Hindus do not want a change of masters, are not going to struggle and fight and die only to replace an Edward by an Aurangazeb simply because the latter happens to be born within Indian borders, but they want henceforth to be masters themselves in their own house, in their own Land." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE"In my Presidential speech at Nagpur I had, for the first time in the history of our recent politics pointed out in bold relief that the whole Congress ideology was vitiated ab initio by its unwitted assumption that the territorial unity, a common habitat, was the only factor that constituted and ought to and must constitute a Nation. This conception of a Territorial Nationality has since then received a rude shock in Europe itself from which it was imported wholesale to India and the present War has justified my assertion by exploding the myth altogether. All Nations carved out to order on the Territorial design without any other common bond to mould each of them into a national being have gone to rack and ruin, tumbled down like a house of cards. Poland and Czechoslovakia will ever serve as a stem warning against any such efforts to frame heterogeneous peoples into such hotch-potch Nation, based only on the shifting sands of the conception of Territorial Nationality, not cemented by any cultural, racial or historical affinities and consequently having no common will to incorporate themselves into a Nation. These treaty-Nations broke up at the first opportunity they got: The German part of them went over to Germany, the Russian to Russia, Czechs to Czechs and Poles to Poles. The cultural, linguistic, historical and such other organic affinities proved sponger than the Territorial one. Only those Nations have persisted in maintaining their National unity and identity during the last three to four centuries in Europe which had developed racial, linguistic cultural and such other organic affinities in addition to their Territorial unity or even at times in spite of it and consequently willed to be homogeneous National unitsâsuch as England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, etc. Judged by any and all of these tests which go severally and collectively to form such a homogeneous and organic Nation, in India we Hindus are marked out as an abiding Nation by ourselves. Not only do we own a common Fatherland, a Territorial unity, but what is scarcely found anywhere else in the world, we have a common Holy Land which is identified with our common Fatherland. This Bharat Bhumi, this Hindustan, India is both our pitribhu and punyabhu. Our patriotism therefore is doubly sure. Then, we have common affinities, cultural, religious, historical, linguistic, and racial which through the process of countless centuries of association and assimilation moulded us into a homogeneous and organic nation and above all induced a will to lead a corporate and common national life. The Hindus are no treaty Nationâbut an organic National Being. "One more pertinent point must be met as it often misleads our Congressite Hindu brethren in particular. The homogeneity that wields a people into a National Being does not only imply the total absence of all internal differences, religious, racial or linguistic, of sects and sections amongst themselves. It only means that they differ more from other people as a national unit than they differ amongst themselves. Even the most unitarian nations of todayâsay the British or the Frenchâ cannot be free from any religious, linguistic, cultural, racial or other differences, sects or sections or even some antipathies existing amongst themselves. National homogeneity connotes oneness of a people in relation to the contrast they present to any other people as a whole. "We Hindus, in spite of thousand and one differences within our fold, are bound by such religious, cultural, historical, racial, linguistic and other affinities in common as to stand out as a definitely homogeneous people as soon as we are placed in contrast with any other non-Hindu peopleâsay the English or Japanese or even the Indian Moslems. That is the reason why today we the Hindus from Cashmere to Madras and Sindh to Assam will have to be a Nation by ourselves. . . ." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE". . . .who regards and owns this Bharat Bhumi, this land from the Indus to the Seas, as his Fatherland as well as his Holy Land;âi.e., the land of the origin of his religion, the cradle of his faith. The followers therefore of Vaidicism, Sanatanism, Jainism, Buddhism, Lingaitism, Sikhism, the Arya Samaj, the Brahmosamaj, the Devasamaj, the Prarthana Samaj and such other religions of Indian origin are Hindus and constitute Hindudom, i.e., Hindu people as a whole. Consequently the so-called aboriginal or hill-tribes also are Hindus: because India is their Fatherland as well as their Holy Land whatever form of religion or worship they follow. The definition rendered in Sanskrit stands thus: asindhu sindha panyanta yasma bharata bhumika pitribhuh punyabhushraiva sa vai hinduritismritah This definition , therefore, should be recognized by the Government and made the test of 'Hindutva' in enumerating the population of Hindus in the Government census to come." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2 QUOTE"Several infantile politicians commit the serious mistake in supposing that India is already welded into a harmonious nation, or that it could be welded thus for the mere wish to do so. These our well-meaning but unthinking friends take their dreams for realities. That is why they are impatient of communal tangles and attribute them to communal organizations. But the solid fact is that the so-called communal questions are but a legacy handed down to us by centuries of a cultural, religious and national antagonism between the Hindus and the Muslims. When the time is ripe you can solve them; but you cannot suppress them by merely refusing recognition of them. It is safer to diagnose and treat deep-seated disease than to ignore it. Let us bravely face unpleasant facts as they are. India cannot be assumed today to be a unitarian and homogeneous nation, but on the contrary these are two nations in the main, the Hindus and the Muslims in India." http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pritche...07a.html#part_2

`Intellectuals are abusing Hindutva' Staff Correspondent MANGALORE: The chairman of Prasar Bharati M.V. Kamath said here on Sunday that it is not the Muslims and Christians who abuse Hindutva but "some intellectuals'' among Hindus. He was delivering a keynote address at the inauguration of a seminar on "Hindutva and nationality and secularism and Hindutva'' organised by Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar birth centenary committee. Mr. Kamath said that a situation had arisen where some intellectuals view speaking about Hindutva as a crime. India stands for values and the Hindu dharma upholds morality, ethics and a way of behaviour, he said. He also criticised a sections of the media for attacking Hindutva

Govt employees with RSS links will be dismissed: Virbhadra
CM's statement `undemocratic and dictatorial', says BJP Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has warned that any State Government employee having links with the RSS will be dismissed from service. Speaking to reporters in Solan district on Wednesday, Mr. Singh cautioned the Government employees against participating in activities of the RSS. ``Government employees will not be allowed to take part in RSS activities. If any employee does so, he will be dismissed,'' Mr. Singh said. Mr. Singh's remarks came in response to a question regarding the suspension of a Government Ayurvedic practitioner posted in Chamba for his reported links to the RSS. ``He was working for the RSS. That is why he has been placed under suspension,'' he said. Mr. Singh's statement evoked a sharp reaction from opposition BJP which termed it as ``undemocratic and dictatorial''. In a statement issued here, party spokesman Randhir Sharma said the RSS was a ``nationalist social organisation which works for inculcating moral values, honesty, dedication and selfless service.'' He said that it appeared that the Chief Minsiter had ``no faith in democratic values and was trying to infringe upon the right to views and expression which was violation of the Constitution''. The BJP leader said Mr.Singh was trying to ``browbeat the honest and dedicated employees and asked him to quote the article of the Constitution under which Government employees could not have links with RSS''. Mr. Sharma dared the Chief Minister to take action against such employees and said that if the need arose, the BJP would not hesitate to launch an agitation on the issue. PTI/UNI

QUOTEHINDU POLITICAL PARTY, THE IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME
From: Narain Kataria in New York Twelfth Hindu Sangathan Divas (Hindu Unity Day) in which more than 700 Hindus representing all sections of the Hindu society enthusiastically participated in New York will be remembered for a very long time to come. The significance of this celebration lies in the fact that it was joined by two very powerful Hindu leaders from India: Didi Maa Saadhvi Ritambhara ji and Dr. Subramanian Swamy. In the celebration, a unique resolution, that has the potential of having a far reaching impact on the Indian polity, was passed by the participants with a unanimous voice vote. The resolution read by Srichand Sidhwani, a senior Hindu community activist, and seconded by Dr. Babu Suseelan, a psychiatrist from Pennsylvania said: âIt is hereby unanimously resolved that a Hindu political party be formed in India. Aims of this political party would be to safeguard the legitimate interests of Hindus in India, preserve the Hindu character of country, and ultimately capture the political power.â Sadhvi Ritambhara, the keynote speaker said that Hindus should derive inspiration from the noble lives of Sri Guru Govind Singh, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Veer Savarkar and others who fought like lions to protect the motherland and sacrificed their lives at the altar of nation. It is an irony of fate that the present Hindu politicians are behaving like lambs. We have been too tolerant and too peaceful. We always talk of peace. But, we need to remember that in order to establish peace we have to be the worshipper of Shakti. Disunity amongst us has been the bane of Hindu society. In order to achieve the unity among Hindus, we must stop the internal squabbles. Also, there is an identity crisis in Hindu society. Our excessive emphasis on the divisive factors such as the caste, language and province is the main cause of many of our maladies. . To solve all our social and national problems, and thereby experience an incredible power within ourselves, we need to remember the fact that we are âHindus.â The word âHinduâ has great magical powers that could easily unite and strengthen us all. If we identify ourselves as Hindus, we will emerge as invincible and our voice will be heard with respect and attention. It is a matter of great regret that Hindus today have become refugees in their very own country. Kashmiri Hindus are languishing in refugee camps. Young Hindu girls are routinely molested and brutalized in Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Indian Kashmir. Hindu leaders live in the foolâs paradise. They mistakenly believe that by indulging in the appeasement of Muslim bullies, one day, they will be able to create a change of heart in them and win them ever. This foolish attempt is bound to fail. Speaking on the subject of âHindus under Siege,â the learned Harvard professor and former Union Cabinet Minister, Dr. Subramanian Swamy dealt squarely with the question of terrorism against Hindus that India faces today. He rejected the often repeated theory of the Islamic intellectuals, pseudo-secularists and the Muslim apologists that it was because of the problems of poverty, lack of education, unemployment, and social discrimination among Muslims that their youth take to the path of terrorism. Dr. Swamy debunked that theory stating that the top-class Islamic terrorists like Osama Bin Laden are, on the other hand, billionaires. Other young terrorists involved in the London bombings of 7/7 were all well educated and employed as doctors, lawyers and accountants. Dr. Swamy drew a thunderous applause when he said that the root cause of Islamic terrorism is the application of the outdated Islamic theories of Dar-ul-Islam and Dar-ul-Harb to the civilized democratic societies. The recent documents seized from SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India) after the Mumbai blasts make it clear: the goal of Islamic terrorism is to make the Hindu capitulate, convert or simply die a violent death. This Hindus must resist with all their might since Hindus are the target from Coimbatore to Cooch Behar, from Bangalore to Baramula, and from Vadodara to Varanasi. Never again must Hindustan go under foreign rule even if Hindus have to die in millions in a nuclear war. We must win this decisive battle against terrorism and reverse the historical trend of being weak and selfish. Dr. Swamy told the audience that an effective anti-terror strategy is not only to hunt down the terrorists to their training camps but also to make nonsense of their political objectives. If Islamic terrorists want India to let go of our Kashmir, we must instead go over and recapture the Pak-occupied Kashmir. If they want to destroy our temples, then we must instead liberate Kashi Vishwanath and Mathura and three thousand other temples demolished in past by the invading butchers in the name of Islam. If they drive out Hindus from Bangladesh then we should annex a proportionate area of that country to resettle the displaced Hindus. If they want Dar-ul-Islam in India, then instead weâll give them a Hindu Rashtra in its place. Dr. Swamy recalled what Veer Savarkar had said: "If necessary, militarize the Hindus and Hinduize the nation". No more submission, no more compromise, and never to capitulate. The only way is to fight to win. That is the Hindu mindset, the Virat Hindu resolve we need today. Dr. Swamy advocated that those Indian Muslims who openly and proudly acclaim that their ancestors were Hindus are our brothers and sisters. They are a part of our family in Hindustan. India is Hindustan i.e. a land of Hindus and all those who acknowledge their ancestors being Hindus. Outsiders can live here but they cannot be allowed to vote. "We can never accept Vish-Kanyas from Italy as our family," Dr. Swamy added to a roar of laughter and approval from the jubilant audience. Earlier, welcoming the audience, Narain Kataria, the President of Indian American Intellectuals Forum, the chief organizer of the 12th Hindu Sangathan Divas, congratulated Hindus of America for making the Hindu Unity Day a great success. âYour presence here in this auditorium in big numbers demolishes the fallacious theory propounded by the prophets of doom that Hindus cannot be united. Your presence in this hall exposes the myth that Hindus cannot speak in one voice. Your presence is a testimony to the fact that Hindu unity on an All India level is a practicable and feasible proposition, â said Kataria. Bhushan Tadepalli acted as master of the ceremonies. Arish K. Sahani and Aruna Inala coordinated the event, and Ramesh Gathuria proposed a vote of thanks.

Hindu nationalism is territorial nationalism
Tuesday, August 22, 2006 QUOTE While the 'tolerant Hindu' sugar-coated poison pill is intended to reduce Hindus to the status of village idiots, the de-Hinduised description 'cultural nationalism' for what constitutes the basis of our nationhood has deadened the consciousness of intellectual Hindus to the critical importance of territory to survive as a people and the critical importance of state power to protect and defend this territory. And the oft-repeated cliché, "Hinduism has survived all onslaughts" has rendered us smug and unwilling to protect our territory, our temples, our religious leaders and aspects of our religion from the twin threats of direct bodily harm as posed by Islam, and the insidious, cancerous nature of all denominations of the missionary church which invade our society and our homes. If the Hindu homeland is lost to either of the Abrahamic faiths, to Marxism or to de-Hinduised secularism, it matters little if Hinduism survives as a peripheral religion or faith in other territories already under the sway of Marxism, Christianity or liberal democracy. Hinduism must survive and be the living spirit of the bhumi in which it was born.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/artic...945000.cms [ 31 Aug, 2006 2035hrs ISTINDIATIMES NEWS NETWORK ] RSS Feeds| SMS NEWS to 8888 for latest updates NEW DELHI: Ideological chalk and cheese shared dais when firebrand Dalit poet Namdeo Dhasal and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief K Sudarshan came together at a book release function in the Capital on Wednesday. The internationally renowned poet and Dalit leader is the founder president of Maharashtra's Dalit Panther that has traditionally been at odds with the RSS. The Dalit Panther has for long looked upon the RSS as representing the Brahmanical order. Ironically, Dhasal released a RSS book on Dalit pain at the function. Dhasal, an outspoken literary figure and the first recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Lifetime Achievement Award, said he was initially reluctant to share the dais with the RSS chief as "Leftist friends would pounce upon me with abuses and accusations that I have shifted camp, but I don't care, because I have only one mission -- to strengthen national unity and social integrity. This can't be achieved if we remain divided in thousands of castes and sub- castes and keep pouring venom against each other. Neither can politics help eradicate castes, which rather thrive on casteist divisions." He had high hopes, he said, from the RSS, which should get into action to remove the concept of untouchability and castiesm from the country. "Mere speeches and books won't help. The work that RSS outfits like Samarasta Manch are doing in Maharashtra has to be further strengthened," he said. He did not even spare the socialist movement and claimed that leaders of the movement had shielded castiesm and that even Communist leaders were Brahmanical in their outlook and actions. Emphasizing that the fight against casteism needed a combined effort, Dhasal said: "Yes, I do feel that the fight to eradicate caste has to be fought by Dalits and caste Hindus together carrying forward the tradition of Adi Sankara, which got broken somewhere in between." RSS chief K Sudarshan said the pain and anguish of "our people have to be understood honestly. The Dalits are our own flesh and blood, but because of some ill practices and social evils the practice of untouchability has brought havoc on those who were an integral part and defenders of dharma. This has to be corrected through our deeds and actions." The RSS chief said had never accepted any kind of casteism among its cadres. He said the year of Shri Guruji, the second Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, had been devoted to working for social harmony and lakhs of RSS workers had reached out to the Dalits. The RSS Sarsanghchalak ended his address by turning to Dhasal: "I fully agree with what you have said here today". An unusual kinship was thus effected at the release of the book Samaraste Ke Sutra (threads of harmony), which contains articles from Dalit writers and social activists working among Dalits and is edited by Tarun Vijay, Editor of the RSS weekly Panchjanya and Ramesh Patange, Editor of the Marathi weekly Vivek, also an RSS publication.

Muslims protest over directive on `Vande Mataram'
Special Correspondent JAIPUR: Muslim organisations in Rajasthan on Thursday registered a strong protest against the State Government's recent directive to all educational institutions to render "Vande Mataram'' compulsorily on September 7, saying the song could not be imposed on the community which believes that it is against the tenets of its religion and expresses Hindu nationalism. A controversy has arisen in the State with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government reportedly threatening to withdraw recognition and stopping aid to schools and colleges where the orders for singing of Vande Mataram are not complied with. The State Government is yet to issue a clarification on these reports. Representatives of the Rajasthan Muslim Forum -- an umbrella body of Muslim groups of the State -- said at a press conference here that imposition of the song, going beyond the Centre's directive making the rendition optional, formed part of the Sangh Parivar's agenda to target Muslims and label them as "traitors and anti-nationals''. "Muslims do not need a certificate from the Sangh outfits to prove their loyalty to the nation. It is outrageous to say that only those who recite the national song are patriots,'' said Mohammed Salim, president of State unit of Jamat-e-Islami Hind, while pointing out that the Congress Working Committee had in 1937 recognised the validity of objections raised to the song and made the singing of its first two stanzas optional. A delegation of the Muslim Forum met the State Principal Secretary, Education, C.K. Mathew, here on Wednesday seeking a clarification on the applicability of the State Government's order. Mr. Salim said Mr. Mathew did not spell out whether the singing was mandatory but denied that there would be any coercion in the execution of the directive. J.M. Khan, State president of Muslim Majlis Mushawrat and former Chairman of the State Public Service Commission, said the contents of Vande Mataram went against the Islamic doctrine of monotheism, which required Muslims to worship none other than God. |
