California Textbooks - 2
Without a doubt Jews and Christians will be portrayed very well. They have a well entrenched lobby with the politicians. Why else would Christian caste system's in South America be neglected for example.

How are Muslims shown in the textbook. There are a lot of bad things that can be said about Islam (Jihad, women's rights etc). Does anyone know where we can see the textbook section on Islam ?

I know Muslim lobbyists have a lot more money than Hindus, partly because of Saudi money. The Saudi's also sponsor Islamic studies departments in many U.S. universities.

<b>Underground processes, Hostile academics</b>
Courts Slam the Harvard Ethics and Antics of the California Education Board

The headline above that appeared following the Calfornia court ruling on the Michael Witzel orchestrated, but possibly railroaded by the California Education Secretary Alan Bersin, the CSBE's shady textbook adoption process summarizes the predicament in which California Education authorities find themselves in. The whole process has raised eyebrows about a possible nexus between Harvard and California Department of Education, for Secretary Bersin sits on the Harvard Board of Overseers. The last minute entry of Michael Witzel of Harvard in the textbook preparation process and the extraordinary privilege accorded to him in preparing the textbooks has raised the specter of conflict of interest and worse in the $400 million textbook market.

The court has ruled that the process was in violation of procedures, but the enormous financial stakes invloved raises other questions.

Part of Bersin's job is to raise funds for Harvard, while his position as California Secretary of Education puts him in position to arm-twist publishers through the Harvard Professor Michael Witzel whose career has been in the doldrums since he was forced to step down as chairman of the Sanskrit Department at Harvard. Recently, his standing as an 'expert' received another blow when both science (genetics) and British admission of complicity demolished his favorite (and Nazi favored) Aryan theories.

This makes his scramble for publicity and political lobbying perfectly understandable. In his desperation, he even tried to sell his services in the Paksitani media!

Witzel of course claims that he was not aware that Secretary Bersin was on the Harvard Board of Overseers. He would, wouldn't he?

The report goes on to observe: "Given the devastating import of that finding for the entire California School System, the State Court has given the State lawyers some time to consider how they will remedy the fraud. The Federal Court had ruled that the State as such has sovereign immunity (or whatever) from the civil rights suit, but that members and employees who violated the law, must stand trial."

Where does this leave Messrs Witzel and Bersin? In the court room or the Board room?

Beyond the court rulings, what is the nature of their relationship to the $400 million California textbook market? It is known that Witzel at one time wanted to write books for California schools— has he renewed the proposal to the publishers, with the help of some arm-twisting by the helpful Secretary-cum-Harvard Board member Bersin?

No doubt lawyers and the media will look into this juicy story, but in the meantime, California school children and parents are stuck with these highly compromised and publicly discredited textbooks.

Recognizing the very great difficulty of the school boards to discard these books and come up with new ones, the report noted: "The State court Judge has agreed to the State's desperate plea – for time to correct the SBE's illegal processes. Stalling? Foot-dragging? ENRON-type fraud? Only time will tell."

In the meantime, "California teachers know that textbooks approved through Bersin's shady process are grossly inadequate for a 21st century education. The State and taxpayers are stuck with the reminders of the SBE's fraud and arrogance."

Just another thing: what about teacher morale? As a former educator in Indiana, Ohio and Texas, I see the damage to teacher morale as the greatest casualty. One hopes it will not come down to the same level as Witzel's morals.

narayanan,
Eye opener and show corrupt practice by CA education board, prof from Havard and other corrupt people attached with them.
I was always under impression these thing happens only in third world country or in India, but hey! This is universal.

These people are getting support from terrorist organization, communist and Marxist from India and US.

Unemployed Farmer of picco, who claims he had attended every court hearing, missed other well employed with hefty salary Hindus inside court.

I wonder, whether he sit outside court with plastic glass/tumbler or inside.

Mudy: From what I read in that article, if Mr. Farmer was outside courtroom, he would have had Stalini Gera and Raju Rajagopal and Beti Rajagopal for company, since FOSA got free air trip out of courtroom, courtesy of Judge practising punting. <!--emo&:flush--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Flush.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='Flush.gif' /><!--endemo--> Boggles the mind to think of Anu Manda.. whatzit flying through the air and landing. Mudy you really think we would have got those changes if we had more money, I don't think so, Muslims would have definitely got those changes by having a world wide burning and killing festival, people fear them and try to avoid doing anything that might offend them in the first place, it's not just money but political influence also counts.

Yes we need money but we already fought the court case and couldn't manage to get those changes in, so what are we to do now, more than money fear is what makes people not do certain things, like I said, if it was Muslims they would have got changes without expending a penny, you know why, because the authorities incharge would think twice about saying anything against Islam after the Danish cartoons, we didn't manage the changes not because of lack of money but because of lack of political influence and because of our passive image.

I agree we Hindus could give more money, but the number of Hindus in the U.S is not very large.

Individual Hindus need to raise a fuss each time their kid is taught this lesson. Working at the school district level might be more productive.
We did win a lot, wasn't this the first time ever that the image of Hindus was challenged, and didn't many changes get implemented. 6 years from now, in the next review, a few more changes will be done. Muslims have been doing this for years, I am sure they weren't portrayed well in the 1970's or 80's when they must have first gotten started.

I was actually pleasantly surprised this wknd. I went to a couple of parties where a bunch of HINAs had gotten together for the usual stuff. Most of the time conversations are about latest bollywood movies, how naughty the bachcha-log are, latest saris that womenfolk got, etc.. Well there was that too, but this time there was conversation about what the kids go through in the school. Pretty p1ssed off, pot-bellied HINAs I would say.

What was most interesting was a bunch of gujjus asking each other - hey boss, whats this aryan stuff ? Most gujjus dont even know what this aryan stuff is. Dont want to get into the whole scene but it was mind-boggling. At that time I realised how much HAF has already achieved.

In short this is just the beginning, 10 years from now 5 million HINAs will have 10 law-suits ready.

Agreed 400%..

Bharatvarsh boss, The passive image is no longer true. The HINAs have spent tonnes of money already on this with more to come. Remember when all this started there were doubts being raised whether HINAs would even do this. Well that aint true anymore. HINAs not only have one but 2 lawsuits. More will follow.

Based on that article by Ari Saja one can clearly see as to why the IndoEuroracists club blanked all the relevant info on the Open Meeting Act, APA etc. Judge found that these CA SBE types were engaged in hanky panky shady deals to undercut the Hindu community and has clearly said so. This is a very positive development. Overzealous officials who stepped out of bound will now have to face music for their actions.

Judge: Textbooks won't be tossed - <b>Process deemed 'flawed' by which Board of Education adopted sections on Hinduism</b>
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->The decision was based on a lawsuit brought against the Board of Education by the Hindu American Foundation in March. The suit claimed that the procedure used to revise and approve the textbook's sections about Hinduism "was not conducted under regulations required under the California Administrative Procedures Act."

Viren: It's a lot worse than that - looks like Rajaram above has hit it on the head. From that article u posted in the Inside Bay Area:

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--> FREMONT — A Superior Court judge ruled Friday afternoon that the state Board of Education is not required to throw out copies of sixth-grade social studies textbooks, but agreed that the process used to adopt the books was not a fair and open one.

In his ruling, Judge Patrick Marlette agreed that <b>the process in which the textbooks were "adopted" was illegal</b>, but at the same time he refused to have them withdrawn from California curriculum.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Sounds like:

Anything new? Would be surprised if they uttered a word of truth. Forget opposing every edit. They have not contributed a single edit and attacked the California parents who contributed as facists etc. Now that 90% of edits are in they are taking credit for it!! <!--emo&:omg--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/omg.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='omg.gif' /><!--endemo--> That is research I E R style.

Even Justice Marlette saw through these shady characters masquerading as Hindus and rejected outright their amicus brief. <!--emo&:beer--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='cheers.gif' /><!--endemo-->

There is something to be cheerful about in this episode. Those Naxal-Marxists-Jihadi funding going to indologists are probabily saving a few lives. Since Witzel and Farmer can't raise a dime for scholarship now, they'll probabily leech off FOSA and FOIL type entities. <!--emo&:guitar--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/guitar.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='guitar.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Maybe some Hindus can get a job at the textbook company, and quietly start making changes there.

One of the big reasons why the books weren't withdrawn is probably corporate lobbying by the textbook company, since they had already spent the money in creating the book.

Another way is to sue the textbook publisher itself for publishing hatred and bigotry, not sure if it will hold up in court though.

Reading this article you would think they would be more careful about printing hatred against Hindus:

Ok here is a link

Witzel takes his Aryan Invasion to Pakistan

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->.....
Though largely ignored by the Indian media, two major developments have sounded the death knell of the Aryan invasion theory. These are: (1) genetic evidence showing that the Indian population is almost entirely indigenous with negligible input from outsiders going back to the last Ice Age (more than 10,000 years); and (2)<b> British admission that the Aryan invasion theory was concocted to serve imperial interests, because, “it gave a historical precedent to justify the role and status of the British Raj, who could argue that they were transforming India for the better in the same way that the Aryans had done thousands of years earlier.”

In 1929, the British Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin stated in the House of Commons: “Now, after ages, …the two branches of the great Aryan ancestry have again been brought together by Providence… By establishing British rule in India, God said to the British, I have brought you and the Indians together after a long separation, …it is your duty to raise them to their own level as quickly as possible …brothers as you are…” </b>Need we say more? <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Apparently thre was seminar/conf at Uty of Mass at Dartmouth on AIT in late June 06 and Rajaram presented papers on this demolishing the AIT.
