<b>Muslims arrested for throwing beef in front of the Shiva temple </b>
February 17, 2007
Solapur: On the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri beef was thrown in front of the Shiva temple at the railway station by anti-social elements. As this news spread throughout the city within 3 hours 3000 enraged Hindus gathered in front of the temple and shouting slogans of `Shame on those who have hurt sentiments of Hindus’ and `Shame on the police and Maharashtra government’ they marched towards the police station. To express their protest the traders of the area gave a call for a bandha. Angry mobs set the slaughterhouses on fire.

As usual at first the police refused to register a complaint saying that the meat must have spilt there accidently. Finally the angry mob compelled them to register a complaint but the police took 2 hours to do the panchanama at the site of offence. Despite the police station being at a stone’s throw from the temple the police registered the complaint with an unknown accused which enhanced the atmosphere of rage. Finally the police arrested three Muslim butchers, all named Qureshi.

The 30 cows released from the slaughter house were handed over to people who vowed to look after them. At that time the Police inspector promised that henceforth in this area no cow slaughter would be allowed. The District Deputy Collector, Mrs. Manjusha Miskar pleaded with the people to maintain law and order. The Baba Gowli Mitra Mandal, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana, Hindu protagonists Mr. Agarchand Dhoka and Mr. B.M. Koli and member of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Mr. Rahul Dhoka protested against this.

Highlights of the event: The Varkari sect, Jain community and other organisations announced that they will now stage a protest to move the slaughter house to the city outskirts.

(This is just a trailer of the events to come if Hindus are provoked in this way. In future if the government and police do not take cognisance of such incidents which hurt Hindu sentiments then one cannot predict what form this rage will assume.

This connivance of police with anti-Hindus is nothing new. How is it that police all over dare to speak thus when Hindu sentiments are hurt? Readers ponder on what the Muslims would make them do if pork was found in front of a Mosque!

Hindus must oppose these partial police vehemently otherwise conniving with anti-Hindus they will finish us completely. – Editor)

<b>Muslim attempts Namaz in Shiv temple,  </b>
February 17, 2007
Nanded: A day prior to Mahashivaratri a Muslim gained entry into a Shiva temple at Nanded as preparations for Mahashivaratri were on and attempted to perform namaz in front of the Shiva pindi there. When this came to the notice of the devotees gathered there he was beaten up and handed over to the police. The accused is a security guard of the Nizamabad Social Welfare department, yet the police have declared him as insane. It is learnt that Mahamad Abdul Mugani Mahamad Abdul Gani left for Nizamabad from a relative's place at Pirbuhannagar at 6.30 that morning. He alighted at the Chaitanyanagar bus station and proceeded to the Shiva temple where he committed the offence.

Treasurer of the temple Mr.Subash Hurane then informed the police who took him into their custody. The Police inspector, Mr.Nandanvar declared that he would be released after an inquiry. This being a famous Shiva temple the entry of a Muslim into it a day prior to Mahashivaratri raises suspicion on the motive of the offender. Since the police have not paid much attention to this, Shiva devotees will now resort to other modes of protest. <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<b>GUJARAT: LOOKING BACK  - By B. Raman</b>
It is five years since the brutal massacre of a group of Hindu pilgrims by some members of the Muslim community in the Godhra railway station in Gujarat and the violent Hindu-Muslim riots that followed. There has so far been no objective account of the incidents of 2002 in Gujarat.<b> An unfortunate attempt has been made by the so-called secular elite of the country to create doubts in the minds of the people about the facts relating to the carnage at Godhra.  The use of force by the Administration to bring the resulting law and order situation under control has also come in for criticism from this elite. Among the criticisms made by them are that the force used was excessive and disproportionate; that  it was mainly directed against the Muslim  community; that there were many atrocities committed against the Muslims; that it was politically orchestrated etc</b>.

2. Such a campaign to play down the culpability of minority communities and to direct the attack against the administration, particularly the police, and the majority community is nothing new in our history since 1947. This has always happened after every communal riot. Whenever some Muslims take the law into their own hands, it is always the police which is criticised for acting against them. The secular elite rarely criticises the Muslims, who violated the law in the first place, and rarely calls for action against them. The voice of the secular elite will carry greater credibility if it modifies its present position that "the Muslims can do no wrong" and that it is always the Hindus and the Administration who are responsible for anything going wrong, which affects the interests of the Muslims.

3.  If there are signs of an emerging divide between some sections of the Hindus and Muslims, the so-called secular elite cannot escape a major share of responsibility for this. Its compulsive habit of justifying every cause and complaint of the Muslims---whatever be the merits--- and its repeated failure to articulate the feelings and sense of anger of the Hindus are creating an impression in the minds of growing sections of the Hindus, who constitute 80 per cent of the population of the country, that  for the secular elite only the rights of the Muslims count and not the rights of the Hindus.  One finds this particularly in the case of the youth.

4. One talks often of the spreading radicalisation of the Muslim youth and of the need to address the root causes of their anger and to appeal to their hearts and minds. This is very important. I have myself been advocating it since the Mumbai blasts of March, 1993. But, we should also take note of the emerging radicalisation of sections of the Hindu youth and of the need to address the root causes of their anger and to appeal to their hearts and minds. The Government will be committing an error of judgement if it fails to take note of the feelings of concern and hurt in the minds of large sections of the Hindu youth. They have many reasons for their concern---- the perceived softness of the Government in dealing with jihadi terrorism; its repeated admonition of the police for trying to do their duty while investigating terrorism-related cases; its action in playing down the role of Pakistan and its Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in sponsoring jihadi terrorism in Indian territory; its secret talks with Pakistan on sensitive issues such as the future of Jammu & Kashmir and the Siachen glacier without taking the Indian public into confidence; the attempt to bulldoze the public and the bureaucracy into implementing the recommendations of the Sachar Commission etc.

5. The Muslims are the rightful citizens of this country. We are proud of them.  They have every right to enjoy the benefits of our Constitution and the fruits of our economic development and to expect that the Administration, including the Police, will protect them. I was more critical than anybody else----when I was in service and after my retirement---- about the failure of the Narasimha Rao Government to protect the Babri Masjid, about the failure of the Mumbai Police to protect the Muslims in the communal riots that followed and about the failure of the Narendra Modi Government to protect the Muslims after the Godhra carnage and about some of his crazy ideas on counter-terrorism. I have been more lucid than anyone else in drawing attention to the fact that there was no jihadi terrorism in Indian Territory outside J&K before the demolition of the Babri Masjid in December, 1992.  There were communal riots, but no jihadi terrorism.

6. At the same time, I have also been pointing out that the Muslims too have obligations like any other citizen, whatever be his or her religion----like the obligation to observe the law; not to look beyond our frontiers for ideological and religious inspiration; to condemn the resort to brutal terrorism by members of their community; and to help the police in dealing with this terrorism. They also have the obligation to try to achieve their legitimate political and economic objectives through legitimate means and not through intimidation. Recently, a highly-respected intellectual of Delhi told me of his sense of shock when he heard some leaders of the Muslim community warn at a meeting convened by one of the Ministries of the Government of India that there would be more jihadi terrorism in India if the Sachar Commission report was not implemented in toto.

7. What is this but an attempt at criminal intimidation? Doesn't the Government have the obligation to put down such attempts? Doesn't the public have the right to protest against it? If a Muslim leader resorts to intimidation, one dismisses it as an instance of understandable anger. If a Hindu protests against such intimidation, he is demonised as communal, anti-Muslim, anti-Islam etc. These double standards have to go if we have to strengthen national harmony and integrity.

8.  Since 1947, India has faced many mutations of terrorism---ethnic, ideological and religious. It has reasons to be particularly concerned over the persisting menace of jihadi terrorism and the role of Pakistan in fueling it. <b>The jihadis wish ill of India. They want India to break up. They want to "liberate" the Muslims of India, create "Muslim homelands" in our territory, which would ultimately form part of the global Islamic Caliphate, which Osama bin Laden wants.</b> The jihadis use force ruthlessly. The State has the right and the duty to resort to the use of the legal force of the State against them.  Whenever a State has lacked the will to act firmly against them, they have thrived.

9. The fears one had in 2002 that the anger in the Muslim community over the perceived sufferings of their co-religionists in Gujarat might result in a wave of acts of reprisal terrorism have not come true. We saw more instances of reprisal terrorism by the jihadis after the demolition of the Babri Masjid than after the Gujarat riots--- the Mumbai blasts of March, 1993; the simultaneous explosions on board trains in the North in December, 1993, coinciding with the first anniversary of the demolition of the Babri masjid; the acts of violence of the Al Ummah in Tamil Nadu, including the serial explosions in Coimbatore in February, 1998 etc.

10.  <b>There have been many incidents of jihadi terrorism in different parts of India since the Gujarat riots. Of these, only one---the attack on the Aksherdam Temple in Ahmedabad in September, 2002---- could be attributed to this anger. The rest of the incidents in Mumbai, Delhi, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Bangalore were not committed in a moment of uncontrollable anger. These were coolly and carefully prepared and executed acts of terrorism by some members of our Muslim community, who have joined hands with the pan-Islamic jihadis from Pakistan and its ISI. Their target is not just Gujarat. Their target is India and its economic prosperity. Their anger is not just against the Gujarat Government. It is against India and its people for refusing to let themselves be intimidated by the terrorists and for continuing to make rapid economic progress and showing signs of emerging as a major power despite their acts of depredation, sponsored by the ISI</b>. Nothing less. I am not commenting on the latest incident at Deewana, near Panipat, because all the facts are not yet in.

11. We owe it to our Muslim co-citizens to see that their lives and property are protected, that they have the same opportunity for economic advance as the members of the majority community, that there is no discrimination against them---political, economic or social, that they are able to observe their religious practices as they wish so long as they observe the law of the land. At the same time, in our necessary attempts to win the hearts and minds of our Muslim community and redress their grievances, we should not under-emphasise the need to root out jihadi terrorism and the mind-set behind it from our territory. We should not project Pakistan as a born-again saint. It is not.

<b>12. Five years after Godhra, there is a need for an introspection---by the Muslims and the secular elite of the brutality of those responsible for Godhra and by the Hindus and the Administration of how the subsequent riots were handled. If instead of doing so, we continue the national pastime of scoring points against one another, more acts of jihadi terrorism and more incidents of communal violence are waiting to happen. </b>

Khalidi was born in Hyderabad, educated in "Islamic Architecture" in Saudi Arabia, before he became some sort of library assistant in MIT....He mysteriously got access to the Indian PM Manmohan Singh and was instrumental in the "Sachar Committee" report...all of this was done during the same time J18 was being thrown about.

In fact, the US government uses Omar Khalidi's writings in their official web sites.

http://usinfo.state.gov/products/pubs/mu...osques.htm

He is also tight with Saudi Aramco, which probably means that he has access to upper levels of the US govt.

http://www.saudiaramcoworld.com/issue/200106/

The American Agenda for Indian Muslims can probably be inferred from all their proclamations of the utility of Indian muslims to US agenda.

1) Portraying Indian hindus as bloodthirsty fascists, and at the same time portraying India as the "one bright spot" in the muslims world.

2) Their overt support of militant sunni islam all across the world (starting with Pakistan and KSA), at the expense of other groups. The US considers sunni jihadis as "useful idiots" that can be easily manipulated to create violence in any part of the world.

So it seems very likely that the US agenda for Indian Muslims is more long-term than short-term. Just don't know what the agenda is yet, but it certainly won't be in India's interests, whatever it is.

In a Feb. 2006 article in Rediff, Khalidi admitted that his brother was not commissioned in the IAF in the 1960s, which motivated him to write about "Khaki and Ethnic Violence in India"....as subject on which he is not an authority on --- the BR Book Review is here:

http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MONITOR/IS...andv2.html

Note this mischeivous way in which Khalidi approaches the Armed forces (while continuing to lie that he admires the Indian Armed Forces).

The book has sections such as:

Quote:

Ethnic Composition of the Indian Armed Forces and Its Impact on Performance During Riots and Pogroms

Ethnic Composition of the Indian Police and Central Paramilitary Forces and Its Impact on Performance During Riots and Pogroms.

The nagging question that remains about Khalidi is: "how did this islamist get access to the PMO and who is backing him in the UPA government?"

Initially, he tried Indian journalist during NDA rule, majority of them ignored him because of his agenda, now PMO is decorated with you know who from IE. It is believed he was instrumental and mole did his service.
Even "you know who's" appointment raised lot of eyebrows in media living room party circles as people always doubt his loyalty and can be bought by any Jack and Harry.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->In an interview to Radiance, the <b>Jamaat-e-Islami </b>weekly, <b>Khalidi gave a taste of his agenda.</b> “<b>We need Muslim-majority districts</b> for three reasons. First, <b>concentrated areas provide security.</b> Second, they provide an <b>environment that is conducive to our cultural independence.</b>

Third, they provide a political base through which our people can be elected. At present, constituencies have been created in a way that our numbers don’t add up to elect adequate legislators.”

<b>Khalidi suggested a Deccan province by merging Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Gulbarga districts</b>, an <b>Urdu-speaking state covering Kishanganj, Katihar and Purnea districts in Bihar.</b> “There are regions in Bengal and Uttar Pradesh where Muslims can be in majority.

Though a large number of Muslims would still be left out, <b>having these strongholds is important</b> for their future. <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Union budget disappointing for Muslims'

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan unit of Jamat-e-Islami Hind has termed the Union Budget for 2007-08 "disappointing" for Muslims, saying the Central Government does not seem serious about improving the socio-economic lot of the community despite the recommendations of the Justice Rajindar Sachar Committee.

The Jamat-e-Islami held a debate on the Budget at its headquarters here over the weekend, in which the participants said the Muslim community was expecting a better deal from the UPA Government in the Centre in view of its commitment to work for welfare of marginalised sections.

Besides, the Budget would increase the debt burden on the common man, while there was no hope for a reduction in the prices of essential commodities in the near future, said the participants. They felt that some sections of society, such as the educated unemployed youth in the urban areas, are directly affected by price rise.

Jamat-e-Islami State president Mohammed Salim said the Budget had made no allocation to facilitate implementation of any of the Sachar Committee recommendations. "The Government's proposals to take steps for betterment of Muslims should be matched by adequate financial allocations. The Budget is unsatisfactory on this front," he said.

The meagre increase of Rs. 63 crore in the budget of the Minorities' Development and Finance Corporation was described as insufficient. Mr. Salim said it would turn out to be a hike of Rs. 4 per person of the minority communities, which was "laughable''.

Educationist Abdul Razaq said the provision of Rs. 381 crore for giving scholarships to Muslim students and for development of districts with a significant population of minorities was highly inadequate. The Muslim organisations had urged Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram to allocate Rs. 10,500 crore under this head.

The community had demanded an additional Rs. 1,000 crore for the institution.

President of All India Muslim Personal Board (Jadeed) Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh on Bangladeshi writer Tasleema Nasreen's head if New Delhi does not restrict her entry into the country.

Addressing the board's annual meeting in Bareilly, in Uttar Pradesh, Tauqeer alleged the Centre was deliberately hurting sentiments of Muslims by not banning her entry to the country, said a private Indian news channel "Zeenews."
Noting that Nasreen had made "derogatory references against Prophet Mohammad in her writings", Tauqeer said, "We demand that the government should ban her entry into the country. If it is not done, anyone who beheads her will be given a reward of Rs five lakh," he announced.

The board had earlier elected Maulana Tauseef Raza Khan as its new President.

The death of 15 persons by police firing this week in Nandigram in West Bengal has opened up a new source for political agitation, not only in that area but in the whole of West Bengal. Its effects can be heard both inside and outside Parliament.-Since, it has happened in an area which reportedly has a high concentration of Muslims, some of the political parties have become extra active in getting involved in the political activities that have followed this police action, so that they can make significant gain in improving their vote bank. In the process the real issue behind this unfortunate incident may get out of sight.
However, it also marks the first major opposition to the CPM in the whole of West Bengal. The general strike of Friday 16th March indicated the extent of people’s support in condemning the action of the CPM led government. If the political parties can sustain the momentum of this anger of the common people against the present State Government, it may have a profound impact on the future of the present State Government and also in the continued unity among the Left Front partners in that State.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Dear Friends,
This news report is false. <b> I have personally verified with the editor of a respected newspaper in New Delhi </b>that no one from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has issued a Fatwa to  kill Tasleema Nasreen.  The fact is that an obscure Muslim opportunist in India by the name Taqueer Khan formed a bogus organization last year called Muslim Personal Law Board.  Some Indian media outlets have reported that this individual has made some statement that is being construed as as edict to kill Tasleema.  This man and his organization are bogus and are simply not authorized to issue any fatwa.  People who are circulating such reports about All India Muslim Pewrsonal Law Board are indulging in damaging rumour mongering and are provoking Muslims.  They should desist from such activities forthwith.

Tasleema Nasreen has over the years insulted Quran and Islam many times.  She is a self proclaimed atheist who happens to have a Muslim  name.  She is indulging in these nefarious activities to gain publicity.  Thus she is provoking the Muslim community and is hurting their religious sentiments.  Unfortunately some people are helping her in her nefarious activities that may disturb peace in India.

Freedom of speech for Tasleema does not allow her to degrade Islam or any other religion or to disturb peace in the society.

As an Indian and a Muslim I appeal to all to totally ignore her and her supporters.  Thanks.

<b>Book on Islam banned, author's house raided</b>
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Mumbai, 6th April 2007: Mr. R.V. Bhasin, Advocate, Supreme Court and a

Yesterday (5th April 2007), police raided his residence at Colaba and have confiscated about 1000 copies of the book which was published in English and Hindi. The raid was conducted by the Marine Drive Police Station and lasted for nearly four hours, from 11.00 am till 3.00 p.m, when Mr. Bhasin was away attending some court cases.

In an interview to Hindu Voice correspondent, Mr. Bhasin said that he is happy that he has been exalted to the position of Salman Rushide and Taslima Nasreen, by the Maharashtra Government. He, a Supreme Court Lawyer himself, is determined to fight it out in the court of law.

Mr. Bhasin informed that he will be moving the High Court in Mumbai within a day or two, praying for returning of his books. The police raid and the subsequent confiscation of his books are a gross violation of his fundamental rights, he said.
