Geneticaly ,gypsies are indian(have R2 and H) .Culturaly they suffer a judaic contamination or posible even a proto-christian one(ebionites?).Not a big surprise;the indian jews are geneticaly more indian then jews ,unlike european jews who are more jews then europeans.Karnataka and Andhra P.are the most likely origin for gypsy genes.

To add more fuel to the thought process:

From this blog Is Telugu a classical language?

QUOTE Miss Samyukta Koonaiah, a research scholar at the Telugu University (Srisailam Campus) published her findings that show many similarities between Sumerian language and old Telugu. Apparently, the Sumerians say that they came to Sumeria from a place called ‘Telivaha’ river valley and that they are ‘Telmun’ people. And Telivaha/Telmun is nothing but Telugu.

See http://www.telugutanam.com/telmunlanguage.htm for her research paper.

It would indeed be great to know that the entire Sumerian civilization started because of a migration from the Godavari river valley. The mythologies of the Judeo-Christian religions have their origins in the Sumerian civilizations. In a sense, the Telmun Migration Theory is the exact reverse of the Aryan Migration Theory. But some how, this doesn’t sound true to me. Probably I am too conditioned to think that South Indians could indeed have traveled to Egypt and established a civilization there.

And then add the gypsies story to the mix a new picture emerges.

Her blog:

AP: Land of Paradise-Telmun?

So the earliest out of India were from deep south and not the current peripehry!

We have the Sumerians and much later the Roma. Who knows the early ancestors of the Greeks could also be from there at earlier times.

The gypsy must came from an area that suffered jewish cultural contamination.
The oldest jew comunites are in Maharastra and Kerala-over 2000years old.
Other jews comunities are new-less then 500 years old, like the bagdhadi jews.
This map show the biggest jewish comunites.
http://themoderatevoice.com/wordpress-engi...unities_map.png

Also gypsy have a few parsi elements in their customs(like leting a fire burning ).The parsis escape from islam advance and sttled mainly in Maharastra via Gujarat.Gypsy must folowed the same rute but in the oposite direction.

ADDED:as circumstantial evidence we see that early migrants from India were from the south.
Chola empire which subjected Indo-china was from south.Teravadha buddhism from Indochina was revitalised also from south.Indians from Malaesya are also from the south.

King of Roma, Florin Cioaba will make a formal request next week, by the India, Egypt and Israel for them to say where is their origin.

Cioaba, who is also vice president of the World Roma, says will take this approach for those who come to know their history. "We do not ask for anything else. We dont want land, we dont want citizenship, we are romanian. But we want to know our history. We want to know where to draw our roots," said Florin Cioaba for www.sibianulonline.ro.

Most hope, Cioaba has in the Indian state, because, he says, there are more signs that the Roma will find their roots there. Roma and Indians have similar traditions, they speak the same language and the dress are similar. Moreover, the flag of the Roma and Indians looks like drawing, but different colors. "You want to know from where we come. Every man is entitled to know the true history, not as the time of Ceausescu when I learned that his regim was the best and now we are told that when I was lying, that the regime was bad. You must know where we draw in India, in Egypt or in Israel. We are not aliens, "said the king Florin Cioaba.

In Europe are at this time, more than 15 million people declared to be of Roma ethnicity.

Madonna was booed after a speech antidiscrimination in Bucharest concert.

Next performance brought the first watershed moment. During the "act" called "Gipsy", Madonna sang a version of the song "La Isla Bonita" with Gypsy influence and presence of Taraf de Roma on stage merely increase public rumor.

Madonna went on to say that he learned that the Roma are discriminated in Eastern Europe and that wants to send a message of tolerance, but was booed. Diva not interrupted discourse and said she thinks in equality all men regardless bred, religion or sexual: "All are equal. Must not discriminate agaisnt Roma.

All are equal. Roma should not be discriminated either, called Madonna but the assistance responded whit whistles. Madonna continued anti-discrimination message through music, but the song "You Must Love Me" was not received with even half of the first minutes enthusiasm of the concert.

She noted with stupor but was very diplomatic and went over the whistle moment.

Didn't the mayor of Rome recently say how he was going to expel Roma from the city?

I think we have found the perfect piece of propaganda to target the Euro Christo's with. Euro's are so blatant in their discrimination and they lecture us about "caste" when Hindus have done so much more than them.

http://wapedia.mobi/en/Interracial_marriage

Indian traders, merchants and missionaries in Southeast Asia often intermarried with the local population there, while the Romani people ("Gypsies") who have origins in the Indian subcontinent travelled westwards and intermarried with the local populations in Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Genetic studies show that the majority of Romani males carry large frequencies of particular Y chromosomes (inherited paternally) that otherwise exist only in populations from South Asia, in addition to nearly a third of Romani females carrying particular mitochondrial DNA (inherited maternally) that is rare outside South Asia. [27] [28] Around circa 800, a ship carrying Persian Jews crashed in India. They settled down in different parts of India and befriended and traded with the local Indian population. Intermarriage occurred, and to this day the Indian Jews physically resemble their surrounding Indian populations due to intermarriage.

I can't believe Europeans have a blatant Christian caste system and they have the nerve to lecture us Hindus about discrimination.

Hindus, Jews upset over excessive exclusion of Roma kids from UK schools

QUOTENevada (US), Oct 15 (ANI): Hindus and Jews have demanded a thorough probe into the extraordinarily high rate of permanent exclusion of Roma/Gypsy children from England schools, which is about five times as compared to percentage of all excluded children.

Rajan Zed, acclaimed Hindu statesman; and Rabbi Jonathan B. Freirich, prominent Jewish leader in Nevada and California in USA; in a statement in Nevada, said that this preposterous exclusion rate was outrageous and unacceptable and needed to be urgently addressed.

Hello and Namaste my Proud Indian Brothers!

Im a Roma and i take pride in my indian origins. I looked for a indian pride/nationalist forum and found yours, im glad to be here.

There is a connection between Roma People and Jatt People

Connection with Romani people

There have been various speculative papers and books written[30] regarding the Jat and Romani people (also known as Gypsies).[31] There are serological[32] similarities shared with several populations that linked the two people in a 1992 study.[33][34]

In 2007 a limited medical survey of haplotypes frequently found in the Jat Sikhs and Jats of Haryana, and the Romani populations resulted in no matches.[35] However, the recent discovery in 2009 of the "Jat mutation" that causes a type of glaucoma in Romani people. The press release from Leeds University states:

"An international collaboration led by Manir Ali of the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine, first identified the ‘Jatt’ mutation in one of four Pakistani families. Further study amongst Roma populations in Europe showed that the same mutation accounted for nearly half of all cases of PCG [Primary congenital glaucoma] in that community. Manir Ali’s research also confirms the widely accepted view that the Roma originated from the Jatt clan of Northern India and Pakistan and not from Eastern Europe as previously believed."[36][37][38]

This could be due to genetic drift. To look only on haplogroups is too simple.
