Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - Bharatvarsh - 06-26-2007 QUOTEHum do, hamare 23, says Haryana pair From Rajesh Deol, DH News Service, Nuh (Haryana): Celebrations just won't abate at the house of Mohammed Ishaq and Bismillah. They found one more occasion for it last week when they were blessed with their 23rd child! The little one, born last week and named Shabira, is the darling of her parents and her 22 siblings in a nondescript village, Akera, in the backward Mewat region of Haryana. The 42-year-old mother, Bismillah seemed fine and happy though she has already given birth to 14 daughters and nine sons in her 27 years of married life with 50-year-old Ishaq. "It is all God's grace," says Ishaq, who works as a labourer. He said if they have another child next year that too would be welcomed. "God will take care of the children," he says philosophically, while acknowledging that it was often a struggle to feed his huge army of children. Ishaq earns anywhere between of Rs 100 to Rs 150 per day. The couple does not remember the names of all of their children. "It is difficult to recall the names of all of them. They resemble each other so much," says a beaming Ishaq. Interestingly, their three eldest children are married and have children of the same age of their siblings. When asked if she still craved for more children, an embarrassed Bismillah said, "What can I say, everything is in God's hands." In a region where education and healthcare facilities are lacking, large families are more a norm than exception. A gram panchayat member, Dharamvir, said one could find families having 12 to 16 children in many villages of the Mewat region â astonishingly in the backwaters of the national capital, Delhi, which is less than100 km away. The literacy rate among women in the Meo community (Muslims) which is the dominant community in Mewat stands at an appalling 1.76 percent as per 2001 census â the lowest in the country â while the male literacy rate is way below the national average and is pegged between 27-33 per cent. A doctor at the neighbouring health centre said people were hesitant to adopt family planning measures either due to ignorance or owing to religious feelings. Sehgal Foundation, an NGO working on improving rural lifestyle, says the average family size in Mewat region is 6.8. http://www.deccanherald.com/Content/Jun262...eyword=dch_home Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - Guest - 08-09-2007 QUOTEThanks to Conversions, One more Hindu Minority District in Kerala 8/8/2007 2:05:03 PM HK Kottayam: Following the path of Muslim dominated Mallapuram district, Kottayam also became Hindu Minority District in Kerala. As per the details published by Department of Economics and statistics, out of 19,53,646 population the so called Minority Religions counts for 9,88,057 while the Hindu population is only 9,63,497. The demographic changes in few districts of Kerala, indicates strongly where Kerala is heading in future. Now itself the both prominent political parties are treating Hindus in the state as second class citizens. If the demographic growth of Muslims in the state owes to early marriages and reproductive rate Christianityâs growth is primarily due to uncontrolled conversions in Christian dominated Districts Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - Guest - 08-09-2007 This is really scary. I guess we have all that money pouring in from middle east and western churches to thank for this. Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - ramana - 09-08-2007 From Deccan Chronicle, 8 Sept., 2007 QUOTEA new old-age crisis By Mark L. Haas The worldâs great powers are growing old. Steep declines in birthrates and major increases in life expectancy have caused the populations of Britain, China, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, and the United States to age at a substantial rate. This phenomenon will hinder the other major powers challenging USâ economic and military dominance, largely because these countries are growing old faster than the US. Yet population ageing may still threaten USâ international security interests. The scope of the ageing process is remarkable. By 2050 at least 20% of the citizens in these countries will be over 65; in Japan more than 33% will be. China alone will have more than 329 million people over 65. The populations of Germany, Japan and Russia are expected to shrink significantly. The ageing problem in the other great powers is so severe that, in coming decades, they will lack the resources to overtake USâ huge power advantages. Greying populations will hinder countriesâ economic growth as working-age populations (ages 15 to 64) shrink, and will strain governmental resources as public spending for retireesâ healthcare balloons. This is true even for China. Chinaâs economic expansion is already threatened by labour shortages due to population ageing. China is also unprepared to pay for the costs of an ageing population. The countryâs elderly have very little savings, the government has set aside little money for their welfare, and the family structure is weakening. Exploding public elderly care costs are likely to force cuts in discretionary spending, including for economic development and defence. Although its population is also ageing, the US is in much better shape. The country is the "youngest" of all the G8 nations. Because it has the highest fertility and immigration rates of all the great powers, it will maintain this position. The USâ working-age population as a result is expected to expand in this period. The US also has a relatively well-funded pension system; its public welfare commitments to the elderly are modest; its citizens work many more hours and later in life; and its tax burden is low. Although the ageing crisis is less severe in the US than in the other great powers, the challenges arising from this crisis are far from trivial. The Congressional Budget Office projects that by 2015, spending on the elderly in the US will total almost $1.8 trillion â nearly half of the anticipated federal budget. For the United States, healthcare costs are the biggest problem presented by an ageing population. The United States spends more than twice as much per capita in this area than any other industrialised state. By conservative estimates, absent reforms, the costs of Medicare alone will be $2.6 trillion in 2050 in todayâs dollars, roughly the size of the current US federal budget. To pay for the massive fiscal costs associated with its ageing population, the US is likely to have to scale back its international policies. The US will be less able to dedicate significant resources to preventing the proliferation of WMDs, financing nation-building, and engaging in humanitarian interventions. So at the same time that global ageing will help prevent the rise of great power competitors, this phenomenon may jeopardise other vital US international interests. To protect its international security, the US needs to maintain its enviable demographic position. Specifically, it should reduce Social Security and Medicare payments to wealthier citizens, raise the retirement age to reflect increases in life expectancies, maintain largely open immigration policies, and, above all, restrain the rising costs of its healthcare system. Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - acharya - 10-04-2007 UP Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - G.Subramaniam - 11-15-2007 Good news from NFHS-3 , 2005 data nfhsindia.org Muslim Fertility = 3.09 Hindu Fertility = 2.65 for reference NFHS-2, 1999 Muslim fertility =3.6 Hindu Fertility = 2.8 NFHS-1, 1993 Muslim fertility = 4.4 Hindu Fertility = 3.3 Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - shamu - 11-15-2007 Hindu nationalists should ensure that muslim women are better educated and they are properly employed. The larger family concept is mooted by the Church in the context of the fall in the population growth at a rate of -0.40 per cent a decade. Sources in the Roman Catholic Church said Hindus in the State also should view the situation seriously as their rate of fall of population growth, at 1.55 per cent a decade, was far more critical in the context of a growth in the Muslim population at a rate of 1.75 per cent in ten years. The Catholic Church has taken a serious note of the situation and would soon launch a campaign right from the level of parishes, the minutest community body. The plan is to reach the message of the urgent need for giving up the small family concept and to ask each and every man and wife to have at least three children. In Kerala, Hindus constitute 55 per cent of the total population, while Muslims form 24.7 per cent. Christians constitute 19 per cent or less. The worry of the Church, which had come out in a Christian publication in the form of an article by a high-ranking Church official two years ago, is no more informal. A recent two-day meeting of the Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) at Kochi discussed the issue at length and officially decided to initiate the campaign for "larger Christian family". A KCBC office-bearer said the issue would be discussed again in detail at the next KCBC meet scheduled for August. He said the formal launch of the campaign would be after that but the ground work would start immediately. "Some work has already been done," he said. Bishop Mathew Anikkuzhikkattil of the vast Idukki Diocese, who was also the chief of the KCBC Family Commission, had put forward the idea of larger Christian families. Church source confirmed that a strategy for implementing the concept in the parish or diocesan level would be formed at the August meet of the council. He added that the concept would be named "respect for life" for this was not only because of the concern for the falling population but also because Christianity is based on life and family. He also said that ideas like giving special support to families with three or more children in Church-run hospitals and educational institutions would also be considered. "This is the only way to circumvent a huge threat we are presently facing, just like Hindus, in the case of population. As far as the Christians, especially the Catholics, are concerned, the number of children belonging to the community, which had stood at 40 per cent of our total population 50 years ago, is alarmingly shrinking. At today's rate of population fall, this would shrink to 15 per cent of our total population by 2050. We have to correct the course," he said. A KCBC official said the demographic studies were showing an alarming trend in Kerala where Muslim families alone were showing increase in children, while the number of kids in both Hindu and Christian families had been falling sharply. Among the chief seven denominations of the Christian Church in Kerala, Syrian Christians, who constitute 80 per cent of the total Christian population, are the most concerned about this fall in population. "Our men and women had got good education and this had contributed hugely to the shrinkage of the population. We will have to use our means to re-educate them to have more children," said the KCBC official. Catholics had the right to decide on the number of children according to their economic and health indications, which had undergone a good growth in the peculiar Kerala conditions. Those who were more prosperous and healthy were opting for fewer children. The official said the Syrian Christian population, which stood at 9.7 per cent of the total Kerala population just a year ago could plummet to a mere eight per cent in another ten years. "The children-per-couple status among us is less than 1.7 while that of the Muslims is above three, he said. Remember that India's pop density is actually lesser than Japan and many other countries, and even if "overpopulation" is a real threat that will not be a big problem if huge numbers are exported as diaspora to the dying West Europe and Canada, it has been done before with millions of Irish and Italians pouring into the US, most of them are assimilated now but that was because they could at the least pass for white. You think indian gov't has any guts to go near Muslim women? And I have seen Muslim women in careers with 3 or 4 kids, one was a doctor and she had 4 kids. Let us assume your idea succeeds, what guarantee is there that it will bring their birthrate in line with Hindus, afterall till the other day people were saying that economics is what causes Muslim birthrate, them being "poor" and all, but look at Kerala where the literacy is the same (yes even for Muslim women) and they are wealthier than Hindus because of the Gulf money, yet they have a much higher birth rate. Most of the suicide cases in Kerala are also Hindus due to poverty. Look at Saudi and other Arab countries, fat off arab oil and wealthy but birth rates over 3 (and i thought economic prosperity is supposed to bring down birth rates). My point is how can u rely on this gov't that dont even got the balls to arrest Imam Bukhari with a warrant in hand, or Qureshi for his death threats against Danish cartoonists, or protect Hindu right to exhibit Aurangzeb's atrocities, i mean these are BASIC stuff that any civilized country with laws should be able to do, and you think they will be able to make Muslim women to take to careers enmasse and bring about some Muslim version of Gloria Steinem or Jane Fonda? Thats like saying, we don't have a plane that can go up 600 metres but we are sure that our gov't is gonna land us on the moon. Even assuming that this would happen, how many years will it take u think, 60 yrs have passed, UCC ain't even on the horizon, neither is Ram Mandir, if it takes another 200 years, how will they achieve this then when Muslims mayb 20% or more when they can't even do it now when they are 13%? The point is after 60 years of experience, it is foolishness of the highest order to rely on the Indian gov't or the police to save u, they don't care about Hindu lives or if the country becomes a Muslim theocracy, infact they are actively assisting Muslim fanatics towards that end. Also please note that if this Global Warming predictions are reliable then I would reckon Bangladesh will go underwater, where do u think all those hordes will go? QUOTEI don't see the point of exporting excess population to other countries if they are needed to keep back this demographic invasion. The point is to make new territories Hindu majority as a backup, what do you think Muslims are doing in Europe? It is incumbent on us to vote in people who have the guts to do this. I didn't say it was going to be easy. There will be alot of stonewalling, alot of "fascist govt" accusations flying around (Modi style) but soon Hindus will have to draw a line in the sand. I don't think we should come outright and say these govt intiatives are targetting muslims or christians. It should be an unwritten understanding. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for increasing the hindu birth rate. I'm just not convinced this can be done. This demographic trend has been an open secret for a while now, but what have we Hindus done to counter it? I guess the probability of your plan working is the same as mine, strictly because we have been negligent thus far. Look at West Bengal. CPI cadre comprising mostly of muslims attack a hotel housing Hindu pilgrims. They beat up people including police officers. The situation is moving from bad to worse and yet we have seen no movement by Bengali Hindus to counter this(gurus please correct me if Im wrong on this). Maybe what is needed here is an attack on mulitple fronts. Urge Hindus to go forth an multiply while introducing social programs aimed at slowing muslim/christian birth rates down. Demographic Politics And Population Growth - 2 - Bharatvarsh - 06-15-2008 I don't have anything against trying to losen the hold of mullas over Muslim women etc, all those are fine and needed but I am not convinced that it can be done in time, meanwhile I am saying at least we aware Hindus should have more kids and tell the gov't to go fuk themselves when they talk to us about family planning unless they manage to convince Muslims to follow it as well. Your point about the sloth in Bengal with creeping islamization is precisely why I am not at all convinced that educating Muslim women etc can be done in time, if we can't even expel these illegal bangla scum all these years, we have a long road ahead of us. Also those Bangla hordes will get in no matter what because they are a votebank for commies, the world will put pressure on India to take in the scum as their sh1t hole goes underwater, unless things get much better by then we can expect a huge deluge of the retards into India. The majority of the Hindus have always been asleep anyway and it will take them a long while to wake up, meanwhile the Hindus already aware should do what we think is best for our community, and if that includes snubbing the govt's one sided family planning propaganda, then so be it.
