Indian Army Chief going wild

http://www.paktribune.com/news/index.shtml?222999

Quote:

The social system of India is founded on inequality, intolerance, conservative thoughts and religious extremism...

It was not only surprising but also babyish to listen when Indian army chief a few weeks earlier, talked about a limited nuclear war between Pakistan and India. It really kept many in a state of shock and also revealed Indian future design to destabilize the region and off course stabbing the forces that are fighting the war against terrorism. The agenda was clear as India did not want the end to terrorism....

Situation at the moment is quite complex and role of India has gone really dubious on the chess of world power game. Seeing the situation and increasing intolerance in India, the statement of the General looks quite relevant....Actually every one in India is feared from the strength of her extremist elements that are developing to form an organization just parallel to Al Qaeda.

Analysts, media, civil society and well wishers of the region will keep discussing the two front war statement of the Indian army Chief (looked inspired from Bal Thackery and Bollywood ) who left no space for India to clear its position on increasing militancy, extremism and terrorism in so called secular India.

Anti-war march group 'to be banned'

A controversial Islamic group which planned to march through a town where processions are held for dead British soldiers will be banned, it was reported.

Islam4UK said it would stage an anti-war march through Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire with members carrying empty coffins.

But the News of the World reported that Home Secretary Alan Johnson would outlaw the group as early as Monday.

It said comments made by senior members of Islam4UK and on websites breached the Terrorism Act.

A Home Office spokesman said that the final decision on whether to ban the group rested with Mr Johnson but would not confirm the plan.

He went on : "Any organisation which causes us concern is kept under continuous review. As and when new material comes to light it is considered and the organisation reassessed as part of that process.

"Proscription is a tough but necessary power to tackle terrorism. Decisions on proscription must be proportionate and based on evidence that a group is concerned in terrorism as defined in the Terrorism Act 2000."

Leader of the extremist group Anjem Choudary insisted plans for the march would go ahead despite widespread anger at the idea.

Families of soldiers who died in Afghanistan condemned the scheme, and MPs signed a motion urging action by the Home Secretary and local authorities to prevent the march, which they said would be "a gross mark of disrespect".

Mudy Ji :

A sensible Article by Irfan Husain's daughter - seems to be having a dig at Gropper Gilani and Gropee Sherry :

COMMENT : The Revenger’s Tragedy: a Pakistani production —Miranda Husain

It would be inaccurate to describe The Revenger’s Tragedy as a one-man show. In the absence of a pocket full of kryptonite, The Revenger has found that he needs sidekicks

Pakistan’s very own production of The Revenger’s Tragedy has been running for nigh on three years.

Its theatrical debut in February 2008 played to packed houses. Audiences were dazzled by the sheer creativity in ridding the script of its original Jacobean feel before replacing it with a contemporary Pakistani twist. A twist seemingly rooted in the nifty employment of artistic licence to avoid typecasting. A technique wholeheartedly exploited by our Nobel Peace Prize-winning man in Washington in his infamous beyond-bullets-and-bombs speech.

To be fair, initial performances did not disappoint. The new regime, playing the title role, managed to spectacularly maintain Pakistan’s Most Dangerous Nation in the World ranking. And the added boost this has given to that old relic known as the Pakistan Tourist Board — well, who can deny? Ever since the regime came up with that nugget of pure advertising gold — Come Visit Pakistan and have a Blast! — the Board has been so overrun with international interest that our diplomatic missions worldwide have intervened to turn away potential visitors left, right and centre. Just ask any Westerner not working for a US private security firm how difficult it is to obtain the suddenly much-coveted Pakistan visa.

Nevertheless, it would be inaccurate to describe The Revenger’s Tragedy as a one-man show. In the absence of a pocket full of kryptonite, The Revenger has found that he needs sidekicks. Plural.

The Native Orientalist represents the first contender. He is the feisty daredevil who claims pragmatism in a sea of heady emotionalism. Thus he throws his intellectual weight behind The Revenger’s ordering of military interventions in the Tribal Areas; urges the US to send more troops to Afghanistan to prove its unwavering bullets-and-bombs commitment. And yes, he does rather admire the American-installed Afghan ruler.

Yet his performance has failed to win over drama critics. Indeed, those watching from Britain and the US have simply written off the Native Orientalist as a Brown sahib. They scoff at the sight of a man with ideas so clearly above his station spending so much time down on his knees grovelling. This Agent Provocateur, forever willing to sell his conscience to the one who always wears Prada, has but one ambition: to secure a place on the fast track of the American-Zionist agenda promotion programme. Presumably, they believe their own adopted host governments to be innocent of such go-getting.

His nemesis is the Desi Occidentalist, a man who spends little time on his knees and most of his energy viewing developments through the prism of his own conceit. A Brown sahib who believes that he alone has the answer. Not the Whities or, indeed, those trying to emulate them.

Thus anyone challenging his viewpoint is immediately accused of consensual indoctrination by the Western media. Naturally, the Desi Occidentalist ignores Western media quotes of Pakistanis happily spewing forth on the country’s never-ending season of discontent. And let us not forget his trump card of last resort: the deliberate belittling of those who have left, temporarily or otherwise, Pakistan’s green and dismal land. Indeed, he reserves the full force of his contempt for those Brown sahibs who had the audacity to be brought up in the remnants of the Empire, old and new. This is his only means of achieving his goal of independent thought discouragement.

However, most critics have conceded that the Desi Occidentalist’s fundamental character flaw is his failure to recognise Pakistan’s Information Technology baby-boomer generation. Plugged into the global pulse, they pose a real and imminent threat to his dreams of thought control.

But, of course, no tragedy would be complete without an appearance by the Pakistani Woman. For, rather predictably and unfortunately, only the promise of nudity and female subjugation appears to keep audiences firmly rooted to their cheap seats.

Inevitably, however, she is given no more than a cameo role, intended simply to enhance The Revenger’s stage presence.

Under pressure to go after his beloved’s murderer, he hides his true face behind the Pakistani Woman. From there, he instructs his coterie of neophyte sycophants to cross all political divides in order to titillate his dissenters with bills pledging to criminalise acts of domestic violence, sexual harassment and acid burning against the Pakistani Woman.

Of all his political manoeuvrings, this should be the one to most distress the critics. The Pakistani Woman, has, after all, long suffered great and grave injustices. She is treated as property, yet receives no tax payment. Like a freefalling commodity is she floated on the open market to the highest bidder. She is raped, stripped naked. And if she happens to be cast in the role of politician, she can look forward to being groped publicly

Perhaps the time has now come to bid farewell to The Revenger’s Tragedy. To let the curtain go down and the entertainer take a bow.

Sudden peace is surprising. What is going ?
Mudy Ji :

The sudden Peace is only a "show" from the Terroristanis as they are possibly on a one way ticket to disintigration as evidenced by the following :

Pak heading towards 1971-like situation

LAHORE - The present political and economic conditions in Pakistan are leading the country towards a fate similar to the one that disintegrated the country in 1971 resulted by deprivation of the masses and exploitation by ruling class.

The reason for the chaos faced by the country is that after the demise of Quaid-e-Azam the nation became a scattered crowd, which found no true leader like him to make them a nation by setting a goal for them.

Theses views were expressed in seminar titled “Last 62 years of Pakistan -Successes and Failures” held at the Hameed Nizami Hall on Thursday. ANP Secretary General Ahsan Wayne, Jamiat Ulema Pakistan (Nifaz-e-Shariat) Chief Engineer Saleem Ullah, MQM Coordination Committee Member Ch Iftikhar Randhawa, PML-Q MPA Amina Ulfat addressed the seminar.

The speakers warned that it was time to remove deprivations in Balochistan, and other parts of the country and to hold the corrupt elements (including rulers) looting of the national exchequer.

In a bid to save Pakistan from threats to its sovereignty we will have to get rid of the American hegemony prevailing on our country’s security, economics, politics and ideology of Pakistan, they said.

Ahsan Wayne said that untimely death of Quaid -e-Azam was bad luck for the country because PML was deprived of leadership and the Establishment seized the control of power in the country taking benefit of the vacuum of leadership. “The establishment destabilised the democracy and dictators deprived the Bangalis of their rights. The demand for basic rights later took shape of separation movement there.”

He said first dictator brought BD system to prolong dictatorship, the second dictator broke the country and the recent one pushed the nation into a menace of terrorism.

Note : The Terroristanis feel that Balochistan is "doing a Bangladesh" on them!

US kills FBI-wanted terrorist in Pakistan strike
Quote:A US missile strike in Pakistan killed one of the FBI's most-wanted terrorists, a man suspected in a deadly 1986 plane hijacking with a $5 million bounty on his head, three Pakistani intelligence officials said. The death would be the latest victory for the CIA-led missile campaign against militant targets in Pakistan's insurgent-riddled tribal belt bordering Afghanistan, a campaign that has recently escalated.

The intelligence officials said Friday that a January 9 missile strike in the North Waziristan tribal region killed Jamal Saeed Abdul Rahim. The FBI's Web site lists him as a Palestinian with possible Lebanese citizenship. The Pakistani officials called him an al-Qaida member, but the FBI site says he was a member of the Abu Nidal Palestinian terrorist group.

Rahim is wanted for his alleged role in the September 5, 1986, hijacking of Pan American World Airways Flight 73 during a stop in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi, according to the FBI site. The hijackers demanded that 1,500 prisoners in Cyprus and Israel be released and that they be flown out of Pakistan. At one point, the hijackers shot and threw hand grenades at passengers and crew in one part of the plane. Some 20 people, including two Americans, died during the hijacking.

Rahim had been tried and convicted by Pakistan, but he and three suspected accomplices were apparently released in January 2008.
All four were added to the FBI list late last year.

Land of all variety of terrorist.

Terrorism and Indo-Pakistani Escalation

Daniel Markey, Senior Fellow for India, Pakistan, and South Asia - Center for Preventive Action

Overview : India faces the real prospect of another major terrorist attack by Pakistan-based terrorist organizations in the near future, an event that would jeopardize important U.S. security interests in South Asia. This Center for Preventive Action Contingency Planning Memorandum by Daniel Markey examines the factors that would condition India’s response; the consequences of Indian military retaliation and Pakistani counter-retaliation for the United States; and Washington’s policy options for preventing and containing the crisis. Markey concludes that a terrorist attack is unlikely to trigger a nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan. He argues that U.S. efforts to prevent an Indo-Pakistani crisis should combine a range of counter-terror tactics with measures that increase Washington’s ability to limit escalation by either side.
