State News And Discussion - 3 - ramana - 10-13-2010 Eenadu Telugu paper says: INC-BJP compromised in view of Ombaba's visit. Note Eenadu is TDP paper. However Karnataka is not their wicket. So could be true. Also politicsparty is reporting that UPA-2 allies don't like the INC moves in Karnataka. Leads to wrong singlas in states. So if it all goes to wire could lead to collpase. So they pulled back from the abyss. Eenadu LINK: INC-BJP compromised in Telugu. State News And Discussion - 3 - Guest - 10-13-2010 I think allies had put pressure on Italian Madam. Bhardwaj+Rahul had used Quattrochi money. There should be investigation and Yeddi should expose them.
It is even possible that congress will boycott the vote to enable easy win for Yeddi. They are upping the ante against Governer. I believe this is all drama. The center may have told the KA-INC to recede and if they don't recede the central governance will be hugely impacted. INC is absolutely dependent on BJP for even a regular bill. That is where the entire frustration for the Gandhi-bakhts is coming from. They are just not able to do anything other than following MMS and his team's line. State News And Discussion - 3 - ramana - 10-13-2010 However INC outlets like Hindustan Times are reporting caste factors(appeal to Lingayats etc.) in a bid to diminish the Yeddiurappa govt. So what are the facts wrt to the dissident BJP MLAS and the independents? What has the High Court ruled? State News And Discussion - 3 - Guest - 10-13-2010 link Quote:Counsel for the 5 Independents also took the plea that they never left the BJP and they wanted to amend the petition. State News And Discussion - 3 - ramana - 10-13-2010 What about the BJP MLAs? Are they in or out? State News And Discussion - 3 - Guest - 10-13-2010
However INC outlets like Hindustan Times are reporting caste factors(appeal to Lingayats etc.) in a bid to diminish the Yeddiurappa govt. So what are the facts wrt to the dissident BJP MLAS and the independents? What has the High Court ruled?
Since the electoral victory of BJP, Yeddi is just consolidating BJP's hold on the state. This caste theory also will not diminish him. As you know caste factors in politics is completely unavoidable. Lingayats is a very large social group and they are firmly with BJP thanks to Yeddi. Now the plans at ground seems to be that more Lingayats will go towards BJP including the top staunch ones in INC. This is the reason for INC to lockup its 73 in a hotel and they are extremely upset with Governer. INC did not have a lingayat leader for a quarter century (probably). After JD government Yeddi is their stauch leader and they will not allow BJP losing out. The pressure from community is too much for those lingayats who are not in BJP. The tussle for future is competetion between INC and JDS for the non-lingayat votes. In persuance of this they need Vokaliggas which is more Gowda bastion.Gowda does not know how to get SC/ST and Mullah votes. INC needs to completely decimate Gowdas if they even want to be competetive. The reason is they have a decent Vokalliga leaders and base as opposed to Lingayats. The churning and backlash that is happening in the last two-three weeks may actually give a landslide victory to BJP (if they know how to avoid EVM cheating) In summary unless extreme strong forces work against BJP they may poach more of INC and JDS. Read the latest PP too. All in all I see a new election at the end of this mess as BJP cannot continue this messy fight. It is to the credit of Yeddi that they could come this far. Quote:Meanwhile, the Congress and JD(S) camps were livid at both the Centre and the Governor. Several Congress members on Wednesday expressed displeasure over the manner in which the Congress high command has dealt with the situation. In fact, at Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting which was held thrice in a posh hotel in Bangalore on Wednesday, leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah even attacked the Governor in allowing the BJP to seek a second trust vote. This is complete circus, I can't believe people elect these moron. Next time, they should tie them with tracking bracelet. 10:40 AM Quote: State News And Discussion - 3 - Guest - 10-14-2010 10:46 AM Quote:The Congress MLAs, who just reached the assembly, headed straight to the meeting hall instead of the floor of the House to hold another party meeting. <img src='http://www.india-forum.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Now Yeddi should call by-poll for 16 seats. Rotten eggs on Deve Gowda and Congress face. State News And Discussion - 3 - Guest - 10-14-2010 Hasn't one independent crossed over to BJP side. So even if the independents vote. It will be 107 to 104. But can the BJP win 6 seats in the bypolls. Also I guess the speaker is not included in this. So if you include then it will be 106+1+1 and 100+1+4 which is 108 - 105. With Speaker it will be 109 to 105. A gap of four is not bad because BJP was always like when they won the election couple of years back. Operation lotus brought them to a gap of about 10. They will have to do Operation Lotus-2. It is very much a possibility. Karnataka is the only state where Temples and mutts are involved on behalf of BJP. The like minded ones in both INC and JDS will poached to resign and get elected on BJP ticket. The developmental activities that they have undertaken in North Karnataka could be completed in another couple of years which may put them for a strong return to power in the next elections. For BJP changing Yeddi will be brutally suicidal. They have to just stick to him no matter what.
