Travel To India - Guest - 04-26-2004

I want to buy a round trip ticket to travel from San Antonio TX to Madras via dubai with a break of two or three days in dubai.

All the ticket agents I know here in the TX area seem to be pakistani.

Can any of you guys suggest other agents you know , have worked with , heard about etc ?

Please provide contact details.

Ram

I got assigned to a new project and was actually away from my desk and my life for the past 9 weeks . I am glad I have the time to be back now. Do you know of any good firms that I can approach.

SSR: Check the usual places like travelocity.com, expedia.com, makeMyTrip.com, orbitz.com. If you are using priceline.com - make sure you stop at BiddingForTravel.com before you place a bid. I'm not sure as to how good the bids might be at tickets/travel for India but if you see places like Najaf, Khartom, Khandhar, <b>Rahul</b>pindi etc on the itenarary, it's time to shell out some more $ <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If you are calling travel agents and are not sure if it's a Paki or candle kisser owned operated, ask for rates to 'Azad Kashmir' and see how eager they are to sell you tickets for it. <!--emo&Wink--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Having mentioned all the things not to do, I'll send some relevant info offline which might/not help you. Won't be right to put it online.

Jet Airways has been allowed to operate 3 flights a week from Mumbai to New York via Brussels

Any body travelled via Deccan Air??. Planning to take Deccan air from HYD to tirupati. Did anybody have any exp in booking flights via phone from US on Deccan??

IA runs flights to tirupati too but only on selected days.
looks like Jet airways no longer runs flights to tirupati from HYD.

wish i had taken the train but lack of time and also home minister doesn't want "waste" too much time travelling while on vacation.

In India, you better stick with TRAINS, 1st or 2nd AC!

offcourse unless u r travelling through bihar.

this should be of help,

http://www.airdeccan.net/airdeccan/home.asp

but most flights are booked atleast 2 months in advance, so if you want to travel in air deccan at thier lowest costs, you need to start looking well in advance

Travel To India - Guest - 03-01-2005

yep booked the tickets throught the no available on the website. Cell center is located in bangalore( where else). Didn't get those coveted Rs 500 ( 500+221) tickets but the price we got still half of what IA was charging. Hopefully we will be able to climb the hill in 4 hours otherwise we may end of look for accomodation...
