I talked to the AP BJP president few months back when he was on tour.

He said Chiru will support BJP in the center. THis is already early that Chiru now wants to join BJP.

There will be three way political setup in AP

At this time India need Right Wing government. I always favored Mayawati but current geo politics, India need Center Right person as Prime Minister. Congress and commies from WB should stay at home and mess up their own state and home.

I talked to a bengali friend. He says Commie paries have screwed WB.

Tathagata Mukherjee, who often posts on blogs, also said there is discontent with commies in WB. He said also that once CPM guy was attacked by a bunch of muslims, and CPM did not do anything. He asked his relation who was a CPM member why this was. Answer was something like "we cant do anything to muslims".

WB is lost cause. For 4 decades of brainwash had made them commie to core. Very difficult to find a single non preaching commie talking point who had education in WB.
I think they had not touched bottom yet, bottom will be when abject poverty created by commie and beating from Bangal Deshi Muslim on daily basis. Some run towards Delhi or join Army or go abroad but where ever they go, they go back to preaching commie agenda, level of indoctration is so high, its in DNA now.
Let them touch bottom.
Again, WB is lost in its own nowhere dreamland.
Guru Nanak message was "Ujaro" (Spread around) to its followers. But for WB it is reverse, stay where you are, your own home land, own town, own village, own street, own corner. Create a high wall around without any gates. Bring all your relatives back home and enjoy life with them inside high walls and sing "Ekla Chalo"

The Indian military is in a poor state. China's defense budget is approaching $100 billion. India is still at $26 billion and lot of that is left unspent due to slow approval process. I heard the Army still doesn't have enough Artillery. # of fighters in the Air Force is inadequate, and half the naval ships are non-operational.
If the BJP fixes the buying process in the military, the military will become pro-BJP. It's good to have a powerful institution like that on the BJP's side. Military's tend to lean right wing/ Nationalist anyway.

WB is in a strange situation. Most Bangalis do not like left anymore, but even more than that hate mamta and the congressis. And there is a huge vacuum waiting to be filled. BJP was steadily rising here up until 1998, when it had secured almost 12% of popular votes and a few (i think 2 or 4) Lok Sabha seats on their own. And there was a sudden rush of bangali intellectuals joining BJP. But they screwed their own growth by aligning with Mamata. And vacuum still remains.

In my reading, if any popular personality a la-chiranjivi, starts a new party here, he would easily be the next CM. Saurav Ganguly had that potential, but he is a leftist himself, and might actually contest next election on a CPIM ticket.

Bodhi,
Its not a question whether they like it or not, but they have no will to do that. Soul is gone. WB is lost generation. Meeting anyone in US, within 10 mins commie talking points will start showing up. All lectures on humanity, how bad Hindus are etc. They lack their own thought process, unable to break from ideology. Its slow and painfull death of society which had produced excellent literature, thought process, freedom fighters. Very sad but that is reality. They have one thing going as a society that is Duga Puja. If you remove that, they have nothing.

Mudy, I was of the same opinion before, but had to change my view. va~Nga is as much Hindu to the very core, as any other parts of bhArata, maybe more. Only there is an apparent fear, tending towards cowardice, due to prolonged jihad, followed by colonial suppression, followed by commie terrorism, and a resulting mixture of shame of defeat and fear. All of this results in one easily turning to anti-Hindu/secularist/commie -- that is convenient. But, scratch a bit, and the Hindu flame is very much there unextinguished, although silent and latent.

The samples you have met, or we all see in media, or in politics -- beleive me, they do not represent the majority of va~Nga, only vocal minority.

I second that.

And one must remember, the Bengalis you meet abroad are the ones from the so-called "bhadralok" culture of Kolkata. They are the hardcore commies.

I'd even give a benefit of doubt to the original Naxalites of the 60s (the socio-economic conditions were really bad then), that they may have genuine grievances and they'll take to arms under any banner, red or saffron.

What excuse does the "bhadralok" class of Kolkata has? None.

The poor Bengali Hindu from remote countryside, that have been denied the chance of a good education (read...ban on English for almost 2 decades) will never make it to New York or London.

This distorted image of Bengalis unfortunately works in a peculiar way. Once you accuse an entire ethnicity, a siege mentality comes into picture. The commies have been cashing on this.
Remember the Sourav Ganguly episode? The commies MPs made a noise in the parliament. Its very easy after that. The commies can always say "they accuse you of many things, but see we stood for the Bengali interest".

The pseudo-sec media will have a real interest and benefit from this image. Will they ever risk the prospect of WB populace voting out the commies or effecting a split in CPI(M)? Never, hence any event that reinforces that image will be played with hype, whether it is Sourav or Nano. The more they do it, more will the general populace find a rallying point, which unfortunately the commies at the moment.

2009 Poll Prospects And Alignments-2 - Husky - 11-07-2008

I don't believe that W Bengal's Hindus are lost to communism. I've long been suspecting this assumption might be like how people keep saying TN "is lost to DMK/anti-Hinduism", which I know to be incredibly untrue.

2009 Poll Prospects And Alignments-2 - Guest - 11-07-2008

Yes, In US they are Bhadralok, in India when I was in school or College from Armed forces families, in Delhi Babus, my Sister-in-law house help was from Parghana region. She was from lowest strata of society. She was an eye opener what is going on in WB. Whatever hardship in village they just can't revolt. Male members prefer to stay unemployed, expect females to work and expect life will improve itself.
I don't want to use some word but if suppressed people can't get up and revolt against suppressor, it means either they had become part commie ideology or just zombies.
After so much suppression they are able to produce Mamta Bannerjee , another one of them. Rest of India living standard is improving pretty fast, but only WB is going down.
60s was created by people what had education in Oxford and they still controls mindset of people of WB wherever they live.

Coming election will be same, no change. Babus in Delhi or law enforcement agency will help continuation of communist rule. That part of world need awakening, I don't see it is coming.

No one cares about military. Its in a shitty state. I hope China or Pakis do a surprise invasion, babus will be in for one rude awakening. Everything is undermanned, from number of fighter squadrons, to tanks, to officers, to ships, to everything. It is going to be one decade since need for MRCA was announced.

Do you think they are not doing as we speak? They are. Babus will raise hands up and will justify that how good Chinese are and India's PM who wear UN's pagari will stand in front of Chini welcome party.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Congress gets astro vote

Chennai, Nov. 8: A famous Kerala astrologer who had predicted the Obama juggernaut is now insisting that a Congress-led coalition will win the Parliament elections
scheduled early next year.  “The stars are favouring Mrs Sonia Gandhi but the time is not good for Mr Advani. As for Ms Maya-wati, I find her prospects very poor,” said Mr Parappanangadi Unnikris-hna Panicker, whose predictions that Mr Barack Obama would win the Presidential elections came true.

“When I look into India’s horoscope, it shows a lot of political uncertainty. Unprincipled alliances and manoeuvres will dominate our politics. In the midst of all this, I see the Congress emerging as the winner,” Mr Panicker said. His clients include the former Tamil Nadu chief minister, Ms Jayalalithaa, and the former Sri Lanka president Ms Chandrika Kumaratunga.

Mr Panicker has the support of his “rivals”, Dr Attukal Radhakrishnan of Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai-based Lankan astro-consultant Mr K.K. Theventhra Rajh. “The movement of Jupiter between December 2008 and November 2009 is favouring the Congress. The poll will be held early 2009 and that will help the Congress since two is its lucky number (the numbers in 2009 add up to two). Dr Manmohan Singh could be the Prime Minister for some time. Mr Advani’s stars do not show him as PM material,” predicts Mr Rajh.

According to Mr Radhakrishnan, the BJP is undergoing Kandaka Sani (the worst manifestation of Saturn) and will face unprecedented crises till September 2009, by which time the Parliament elections would have been lost. “Though the Congress too is facing the Saturn effect, it is only ezharai sani (seven-and-a-half-years Saturn), starting late 2009 till 2016, which will not impact the poll prospects early next year,” says Mr Radhakrishnan.

For predecting the US Poll results astrology was not required. On Indian elections , it will certainly play an important role. Politicians will also seek devine intervension in the form of Gagaran, Akhand Kirtan , Visit to Tirupati and Ajmir Sharif etc.As in the past a few Holy men will also be roped in by the influncial politicians to ensure support. The number of helicopters for use of politicians will also be increased in view of more funds being available for the purpose this time.

Nancy Regan used to check astrologers whenever Ronald Regan had to travel or important meeting.
Hillary Rodham Clinton consulted a psychic hoping to talk to the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt.
Astrologers had conference in Jan 2008 to discuss Presidential election. It is more organized.
Astrology is taught as subject in lot of universities. In US, astrologer and psychic are used by people to buy or sell houses.
Books stores always have huge section dedicated for astrology, from tarot card (same as India where Parrot/bird select card) to western, voodoo, Vedic, Jews....

In US, it is also important to get endorsement from religious big wig and they must debate organized by religious organization. All politicians look for divine power to win election. Both Presidential candidates of 2009 believed in all sort of superstition.
Indians or Westerns are no different when it comes to astrology.
Only difference, Americans are not ashamed, like so-called educated Indians.

In some very ancient sources the number is 616! Doubtless to the dismay of <b>the gematriasts, who seek to guide American nuclear foreign policy on the basis of biblical clues</b>, neither singly nor in combination do the names "Madalyn," "Murray," or "O'Hair" total to 616 or 666 when written in the Greek alphabet. US celebrate Halloween on 31st Oct every year.

Biblical astrologers are searching for President name from code book and predicting what will happen in 2009 according to code.

I think majority of country don’t give 666 as phone number. Except my aunt took that her telephone number in UK. <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Even burnt bread with Jesus image went for 1000s. on ebay.

Even in yesterday's Obama's first press conference, he tried to pull joke on Nancy for seeking divine power, within 30 min Obama had to apologize Nancy Regan.
