Indian Movies Thread V - Guest - 08-27-2009 http://www.esnips.com/doc/18744e1e-e04c-4b...hil-Nalla-Ullam Shivaji Ganesan was at one of his best performances in this movie. What I liked in this scene is the sheer arrogance that Karna portrays when he is unfazed at the departure of his charioteer. The song's (sung in the raspy voice of Seergazhi Govindarajan, English meaning is as follows : Ullathil nalla ullam Urangaadhenbadhu Vallavan vaguthadhadaa, Karna Varuvadhai edhirkolladaa. The most beautiful amongst souls Shall never fall to the fatal tell of time Thus, say the greatest of men, Karna Prepare for the fate that shall be thine. Thaaikku nee magan illai Thambikku annan illai Oor pazhi etraayadaa Naanum un pazhi kondenadaa You aren't a son unto your own mother (referring to Kunti's desertion) And not a brother to each of your sibling (the Pandavas) Oh! How you bore the insinuations! I too shall be your sinner by my cunning. (The ploys Krishna uses to bare Karna) Mannavar paNi erkum KaNNan paNi seyya Unnadi paNivaanadaa Manniththu arulvaayadaa, Karnaa He who is served by the greatest kings (That) Krishna, to serve you, is ready By bowing to your magnanimity. Karna, will you grace me with mercy? Senjotru kadantheerka Seraatha idam sairndhu Vanjaththil viyinthayadaa, Karna Vanjakan, Kannanadaa To repay the hand that fed you You pledged your loyalty to the vile Kauravaa And fell in the trap of great deception, Karna. (Though) the greatest knave is the son of Vasudeva. http://www.esnips.com/doc/18744e1e-e04c-4b...hil-Nalla-Ullam Indian Movies Thread V - Guest - 08-28-2009 i just watched iranian film, 'songs of sparrow', highly recommened, excellent acting by protagnist http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0997246/ Indian Movies Thread V - rhytha - 02-09-2010 has anybody watched Aayirathil Oruvan, tamil film, looks like it has some chola elements in it, waiting to be watched this weekend. The co-production with Yash Raj Films ââ¬â one of the country's top movie studios ââ¬â was voiced by popular Indian stars and features the song-and-dance numbers that are a trademark of the country's Hindi-language industry, commonly referred to as Bollywood. In localization efforts elsewhere in Asia, Disney has made two co-productions in China ââ¬â "The Magic Gourd" (2007) and "Trail of a Panda"(2009) ââ¬â and is about to release a third, a Chinese version of its hit franchise film, "High School Musical." http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5h9aja1PmuyRfAYhafMPYfaQsBykQD9ECFOSG0 Indian Movies Thread V - Guest - 03-27-2010 http://www.hulu.com/recent/feature_films?channel=Action+and+Adventure&h=19&page=6 The Train is available on hulu.com Lot of Hindi movies are also available. I am listing some of the best and enjoyable movies in the recent past in no particular order, I am aware of only tamil movies, so if someone can list hindi, malayalam, telugu and other language movies, it would be good. 1.) Pasanga - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasanga Indian Movies Thread V - rhytha - 04-02-2011 Brilliant songs coming out of tamil composers i recent times, check the below ones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNvBvUzSTvQ&feature=related - Meyyana Inbam - Eesan - This sounds a little like Basshunter's Not without you. But the lyrics and the improvisation is definetly unique and thrilling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXET9AVxKd4&feature=related - Another good one from the same film. Folk gana, brilliantly done. The voice is unique and suits the song naturally, awesome. <img src='http://www.india-forum.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Indian Movies Thread V - Bharatvarsh2 - 07-30-2011 ââ¬Å½22 June 1897- With English Subtitles - Classic Marathi Movie - 1979 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXbcQQA-JoQ Movie is about the early revolutionary freedom fighters, the Chapekar brothers. From the looks of it they seemed to have stuck to accuracy (including how the assassination was actually done), pretty rare to see such movies in India where history is depicted properly instead of unnecessary Bollywood songs and romance (like "The Rising" about Shri Mangal Pandey and 1857 or "The Legend of Bhagat Singh"). |
