What we know as Indian democracy, it's house in Chaos.

But there is ray of hope in the form of Election Commission which is trying to convert election process at least, in order.

As compared to this, US democracy is organised democracy.

What do you think are the other ways to convert disorder into order?

The findings support the idea that personality type influences political attitude, which could explain why voting differences appear to be entrenched. "Although political views have been thought to arise largely from individuals' experiences, recent research suggests a possible biological basis. We present evidence that variations in political attitudes correlate with psychological traits," said John Hibbing of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ban dumbocracy and institute a Hindu military dictatorship? I don't know how the EC could possibly be considered as a ray of hope, unless you meant that in jest.

You tell me 'Is it possible?'

Whereas if you look at US democracy, unique feature is free and fair elections which is done by equivalent to EC thru media. In nutshell, we have borrowed Western style democracy without the way to run it.

the US has only 2 parties so is a very limited democracy.

the minimum required for running the country easily whiteout going to dictatorship.

but for a true democracy ,the election system alone is not a guarantee ,the right institutions that support democracy are needed.

Election Commission a ray of hope? Not now. It has far too much discretionary powers, which sometimes it uses to selectively censor even the political speeches during elections. Such powers are open to misuse at the instance of the ruling party.

But finding the response lukewarm, a Bench comprising Justices Markandey Katju and T S Thakur expressed unhappiness in no uncertain terms and termed the bureaucracy in the ministry of defence "insensitively effective".



"Sitting somewhere in a plush office in Delhi and finding fault in each proposal is easy. The defence secretary must be sent for 10 days to the high altitude posts. He will at least see first hand the conditions in which these people serve the country," the Bench said.
