Friends,
I've been trying to organize some thoughts on the development of Indian "national culture"... a term favoured by the American historian Carroll Quigley... and the concomitant evolution of our civilizational narrative.
The following articles are a historical analysis of how the unique course of our development has contributed to the shaping of our national psyche and political landscape. Like most articles on these sorts of subjects, they probably contain a lot of hot air <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> However, I hope they include the germs of a few useful ideas that might spark productive discussion.
Rather than reproducing the entire articles here, since they're quite lengthy, I'll provide links to them on my blog. Please read and comment if interested... on this forum, on the blog website or wherever.
I.F. Admins, thank you for your kind indulgence, and please move this thread to a more suitable section of I.F. if you see fit.
