The New Instalment Of The Bofor's Soap Opera!
#21
Now several years have passed and nothing has come out of this case. In the process of investigation proceedings Crores of Rs have been spent and now it is time that the chapter needs to be closed. So far the political functionaries have selectively made use of the pending investigation in making out political capital out of the controversy. However, no Government at the Centre in more than a decade had the intention and inclination to proceed in the matter.
One very important fact in the whole episode has been conveniently forgotten, i.e. what has been the performance of the guns. There has so far been no adverse report about the performance of these State of Art guns and they provided excellent firepower during the Kargil conflict. There have been two serious fallouts with grave national security implications as a result of the cutback charges.
Firstly, the Bafor Company was banned from doing any further business with the Indian defense ministry and as such the part of the original contract which envisaged setting up of an ammunition factory for the shells used by these guns in India got cancelled. Even today, after so many years since India procured the guns, we are still dependent on foreign sources for getting ammunition for these guns. The corruption charges brought forward after this deal has slowed down the entire procurement process of equipment for the Defense Forces and this may have long term implications on the on going process of its modernization.
Secondly, during the last few years several heavy field guns have been evaluated for replacement of old field guns of heavy caliber. Unfortunately, in all these tests the new Bafor guns have come out on the top. Although, the company which had earlier has changed hands yet we do not have the courage to take the risk attached to a fresh deal for additional field guns of the same origin. The continued delay in taking decision on this issue has resulted in slowing down the whole procurement process and may cause serious fire power shortage for the forces in future.
Therefore, the time has come to forget the past and move ahead at least in the larger interest of the nation. This whole case revolves round some 65 Crores of Indian Rupees, which is an insignificant amount in a deal of this magnitude in today’s value.

Nice sentiment. But it is not about Bofors or 65 crore. You have an ITALIAN woman who usurped power with the help of COMMIES, CASTIEST forces such as LALOO and promotes/PROTECTS ITALIAN Mr. Q. If you or anyone believe that one stupid low-life Law minister was fully responsible for de-freezing of Mr. Q's account, they are naive. The matter here is the contempt with which foreign woman has power over PM and CONgress party. If she is leaking every nuclear secret to foreign powers, not even the dummy PM can open his gutless mouth against her. His minsiters even don't tell him what they are doing. They report to the woman in 10 Janpath. If MMS has any shame, he would resign.

She is doing everything in power to divide the country and even the army on RELIGIOUS lines. This is called by disgusting COMMIES and liberal media as SECULARISM. Once that son of her becomes PM, probably Mr. Q will have permanent residency in 10 Janpath and all ministers will report to him directly. He did that when Rajiv was PM.

can you supply proof of what you posted, esp the part in red??

if thats the case, how come the bjp doesnt realise it and use it in thir campaigns??

and as for rahul gandhi's becomming pm..... india has gone through a LOT.... but i sincerely hope that we dont have to go through a rahul ghandhi phase too. the original gandhi and the subsequent 4 nehruvian gandhis have already done more damage to india than the 5 mughal emperors combined.

why the hell do the aaam-admi of india still support this dynasty??? i guess the genes of indian people have become such that they think its perfectly natural to be ruled by the sons of the people who ruled over their dads. this "vekti puja" has to stop if india has to go anywhere.

damn i wish the bjp had more political sense and had nailed the issue once and for all after getting a toehold in the dynastic rule of india. they shouldnt have concentrated so much on the upper middle class and india shinning. instead they should have tried to help rural india and increase their vote back to invincible levels. middle class india will prosper with or without bjp - most of their prosperity is due to private sector's doing well.

and now i pray that by some miracle, by some scandal - volker, mithrokin, nehru's trechery of netaji or bofors or whatever - this damned family is consigned to the trash can, and congress joins the rank of defunt forgotten parties.

That is why corruption is major problem in India, because it starts from Chaprasi who just take less than hundred rupees and as one go up ladder, price also goes up, at the top IAS level it is in Crore. For top level it’s easy to ignore when someone is just taking 100 rupees because it’s a small amount. Time had come to change this attitude. Till corruption at higher level is not stopped which can be done only by investigation and should be punished for their crime, than only corrupt idiots will learn lesson and will get discouraged for future adventure.
I hate paying single rupee to Chaprasi and 1000 ruppes to IAS officer at customs when I am ready to pay penalty according to law.
Why US and other countries are less corrupted because corruption at any level get investigated and swift action discourage others.

For six long years, another Government no way connected with Congress was in power in Delhi. What prevented them to speed up and complete the investigation and start prosecution, after filing the charge sheet? Do you mean to say that out of fear of 10 Jan path, Vajpayee ji and other were unable to proceed in the matter?

The Hinduja brothers faced the Court on their own and ultimately were allowed to go out of the nation as there was no sufficient ground for their continued confinement in India. The Govt was forced to allow them free movement at the directions of the High Court. Therefore. It is obvious that there is nothing in the case which will stand judicial scrutiny for an ultimate conviction of anyone in this case. Now you will say, why it has been kept alive, the answer to this is that it is an instrument in the hands of some political leaders, to be used whenever they like to use it to divert public attention from more pressing problems facing the nation.

It is not about Bofors. I think you are missing the point. No one is asking every one to spend all the time on this.

During the investigation, CBI freezed the accounts of Mr. Q who is a friend of Gandhi dynasty. WIthout the knowledge of PM, the law minister decided to de-freeze those accounts and even send his officials to help de-freeze. If you want to ignore this as an act of irresponsible law minister, you are wrong. He took orders from 10 Janpath. If the minister reports to the DYNASTY and ignores the PM, it is the sorry state where we have a dummy government which is propped by bunch of parties who have not been elected as a coaliation. They were not coaliation before the election. The people have not elected them. They cobbled together. Now an ITALIAN woman has more power than PM. The ministers do not even tell him about their decision. The minsiters take orders from a govermnet authority. The PM is like her slave. So if the home ministry finds that ITALIAN EMBASSY is spying on our nuclear program, the minister will directly report to 10 Janpath and shut his mouther rather than reporting it to the PM.

The PM office is even helping to divide the army on religious lines by asking religious divisions in the army and dismissing the army's concerns. This is all to make sure to put Rahul as PM in the next few years. Our dumb, idiotic journalists wag their tails like street dogs before the DIENASTY leader Rahul.

Well on the wider question of who is really the Government, it is not that the present setup turned up onits own to take control of the corridors of power. It is due to the manner in which the people of India voted. Son one has to wait for the next general elections to see what the people of India decide for the next five years from the date the election process is completed.
