BJP Future - 4

I am not sure but my take on this issue.
VHP and Bajrang Dal are considered "Too much hindus" for p-sec/commie worldwide. BJP gets its support from them. BJP is a political wing of "Too much Hindu" group. After Gujarat when Congress and its world wide idiots p-sec gone gang-ho on BJP, these BJP top cadre may have come up with this "delinking" strategy.
What worldwide idiots’ p-sec strategy is to remove political hand of Hindus, which is very important in democracy. Same strategy was used by British and Muslim invaders by killing Brahmin/teacher/thinkers and destroying seat of education. Current trend is same, now what Indian communist and worldwide Indologist are doing with Hindus, they are telling Hindus your political leader is an idiot/traitor as they told lower caste Hindus that upper caste are cause of your backwardness and you are oppressed people. See now so called lower class is a most privilege class, but they still sings that Brahmins make them eat dead animals and Brahmins make them clean toilets in US and India or Brahmins should be kicked out of India and make temples without priest (have you ever heard they can say same to Church or Mosque to be run without priest).

VHP/Bajrang Dal/RSS should stay out of politics and should only work as a steering wheel, move as and when required. In that respect they are doing good job but communist are more successful to create hatred against Hindus political wing. At the end it will be a great loss for Hindus.

I think lack of knowledge among Hindus and they don't think long term or never learn from History. Ofcourse they are brainwashed by History written by communist and news my DDM.

Advani invokes Sardar Patel on minority quotaAdd to Clippings

KAPADVANJ (GUJARAT): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani on Friday invoked India's first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the Congress' decision to grant reservations to minorities, saying the move is aimed at vote bank politics.

As the Bharat Suraksha Yatra entered the central part of Gujarat - the Patel hinterland - Advani cited Patel's decision not to grant reservation to any minority.

Addressing gatherings during his yatra (campaign) in Dehgam, Bayad, Kapadvanj and Umreth, he denounces the decisions by the Andhra government and the Congress party for job quota for Muslims.

"He (Sardar Patel) had said that you give reservation to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, but never reserve posts for minorities. We also say the same thing, but this government (the United Progressive Alliance) is set to appease minorities for vote bank politics," said Advani in Dehgam in Gandhinagar district.

He criticised the central government's soft stance on illegal immigration from Bangladesh. He said another partition could happen if illegal immigration went on unchecked.

"If the infiltration continues, it will pose a great threat to India's unity."

Advani also pulled up the Left for its "reactionary" policies.

Funny even the anti-national/anti-India media is also now recognising that Advani's yatra is a success. I hope RSS and Advani work it out for the sake of the nation. They have to do this in national interest. If not, the ITALIAN garbage is going to destroy INDIA with the help of anti-national COMMIES and grabage such as Arjun SIngh while the VHP/RSS is busy fighting with Advani.

What made Advani's yatra click, wonders RSS

Pune, April 11: The generally positive response to L K Advani's ‘Bharat Suraksha yatra’ both in Gujarat and Maharashtra has baffled both the Sangh Parivar, which has kept away from it, and the party's own managers, who are wondering whether there was an undeclared race between Narendra Modi and Pramod Mahajan to make his tour a success.

The Leader of Opposition himself appeared a bit baffled by the crowds and told a public meeting at Bhosari in Pune on Monday night that he was not expecting such turn outs in the scorching heat.

"People told me that the timing of the yatra was wrong and that in Congress-ruled states it would be difficult to get the crowds. But the experience in Gujarat and Maharashtra have proved otherwise," he said.

Advani said he was not bothered by media reports of poor turnout as the "people concerned" (UPA government) were getting the message.

<b>The meetings in pre-dominantly tribal and Congress bastions of Talasari and Charoti witnessed large attendance of local people, while residents were seen waiting along the yatra routes at Kamahet and Vadgaon as the Advani juggernaut rolled down rural Maharashtra.</b>

Advani loyalists were quick to claim that the crowds were proof that his popularity has not diminished after his resignation as party chief in the wake of the Jinnah controversy with some even asserting that it was actually a vindication of the moderate line being advocated by the veteran leader.

However, his critics attribute the response to the influence of local party satraps, Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Gujarat and national party general secretary Pramod Mahajan in Maharashtra.

Modi, once the poster boy of Sangh Parivar, has been cosying upto Advani ever since dissidence began troubling him. Advani, who was the then party chief, defended the embattled Chief Minister in the wake of the Gujarat riots even as then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee spoke of ‘rajdharma’.

Later, when Advani got into trouble in the wake of the Jinnah controversy, Modi was among the party leaders, who backed him to the hilt and during the current yatra he has pulled all stops to ensure that it was a grand success in the state.

<b>"You cannot sustain audience interest if the chemistry does not work. Crowds in India are unforgiving and they booed even a great player like Sachin Tendulkar," said party general secretary Ananth Kumar, who is also the incharge of the yatra.</b>

As for the crowds in Maharshtra, observers said <b>Mahajan and his brother-in-law state BJP legislature party leader Gopinath Munde </b>have left no stone unturned to convey to Advani that even without any government machinery to back, they can match Modi, who remains a rival to Mahajan in the party's second generation leadership.

Asked about the difference between the response to this yatra and his previous Ram Rath yatra, Advani says "the issues are different. So would the response be. But at that time too, the media reports had sought to play down the crowds. It is now only that comparisons are being made".

Whether it is competition or curiosity, the 78-year old veteran is enjoying the response with even the throat trouble caused by the scorching heat not stopping him from addressing an average 15-18 public meetings a day.

He is also not bothered about the response in the coming days. "Wait for Karnataka," promises Ananth Kumar, as the yatra gets set to enter his home turf on April 13.

JD(U) out of BJP’s shadow
MANINI CHATTERJEE
Posted online: Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 0000 hrs

NEW DELHI, APRIL 11: The results of the bitterly fought JD (U) presidential elections in Patna today spells not just a humiliating defeat for incumbent George Fernandes but is also a big setback for the BJP-led NDA and could have a bearing on the political churning at the national level in the coming months.

Sharad Yadav’s decisive victory was certain to strengthen the ‘‘independent and autonomous’’ role of the JD(U) within the NDA, top party sources said.

Ever since the defeat of the NDA two years ago, a strong section within the JD(U) has been unhappy with the alliance with the BJP, especially after the BJP decided to return to the Hindutva line. At JD(U) national executive meetings, this section has repeatedly stressed the party’s ‘‘socialist and secular’’ roots and expressed misgivings about getting too close to the BJP.

However, George Fernandes in his dual role as JD(U) chief and NDA convenor remained very close to the BJP leadership and was seen as acting at their behest. Often, he was the only non-BJP representative at so-called NDA meetings or ‘‘NDA delegations’’ to Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Fernandes’s deep antipathy towards the Congress and particularly Sonia Gandhi made him join hands with the BJP on every occasion without always getting the endorsement of his own party, JD(U) leaders privately complain.

Sharad, on the other hand, has gone out of his way to establish the JD(U)’s ‘‘independent’’ approach to issues. For instance, he played a key role in securing support from non-BJP constituents of the NDA for the Bill to extend quotas to private unaided educational institutions and refused to go along with the BJP’s line of opposing the Bill on the pretext that minority educational institutions were exempt.

Sharad Yadav, who sees himself as an ideologue of the Lohiaite school, emerged as an important player when Nitish Kumar chose him rather than Fernandes to spearhead the party’s campaign in the Bihar Assembly polls last November. The Nitish-George duo was replaced by the Nitish-Sharad combine in the election.

With the primary goal of defeating Lalu Prasad Yadav, both Nitish and Sharad stuck to the alliance with the BJP. But they made it clear that the BJP’s ‘Hindutva politics should find no place in the campaign. After the JD(U)-BJP victory, Sharad scuttled moves by the BJP to fly down Narendra Modi for the grand swearing-in ceremony in Patna.

Since the Bihar victory, Sharad Yadav has slowly become more assertive in Delhi while Nitish Kumar has remained busy with transforming Bihar. Yadav and his close associates have made no secret about their differences with the BJP on ideological issues and their exasperation with Fernandes for blurring the party’s identity.

‘‘You can rest assured that as JD(U) chief Sharadji will not be working out of the BJP headquarters or address press conferences at Advani’s residence or make trips to Nagpur to broker peace between the BJP and RSS,’’ a JD(U) leader sarcastically said.

While there is no immediate plans to leave the NDA, Sharad Yadav’s elevation will also give a fillip to ongoing efforts to ‘‘re-unite the Janata parivar’’, sources said. To begin with, the Janata Dal (U) and Janata Dal (S) might get closer.

Yadav’s victory is also likely to impact on the ‘‘realignment of forces’’ taking place within the UPA and the emergence of a nascent Third Front. ‘‘It is too early to predict the future, but if the JD(U), JD(S), JMM and LJP join hands, we can form a viable alternative in Bihar, Jharkhand and Karnataka to both the Congress and BJP,’’ a party insider said.

Uniform civil code: BJP wants a debate
[ Saturday, April 15, 2006 11:42:49 amPTI ]

RSS Feeds| SMS NEWS to 8888 for latest updates

PATNA: In an indication that BJP under him was keen on regaining its 'Hindutva' moorings, party president Rajnath Singh on Saturday made a pitch for a debate in Parliament and outside to evolve a consensus on the issue of uniform civil code.

"We want a debate in Parliament and outside on the issue of uniform civil code. The Prime Minister should also constitute a national-level committee which should start a debate and evolve a consensus on the issue," he told a press conference here before resuming his 'Bharat Suraksha Yatra.'

Stating that the seeds of divisiveness were sown by different communities following different laws, Singh said it was not only violative of Article 44 of Constitution which said the state shall endeavour to secure for the citizens a uniform civil code throughout the country but also ran counter to the concern voiced by Supreme Court over effective steps not being taken to implement such a code.

"The former Chief Justice of Supreme Court V N Khare had observed that enforcement of a uniform civil code will help the cause of removing contradictions based on ideology," the BJP president said adding a uniform civil code was in force in Goa since the Portuguese rule and nobody was complaining.

In 1972, the then union law minister H R Gokhale and later even the President of the country had strongly supported a uniform civil code.

"The issue is not that of Hindus versus Muslims or Hindus versus Christians. We should see it in relation to the vital issue of national unity and integrity. National security atmosphere is threatened due to separate civil codes," he said.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>Advani?s Hyderabad meeting: Party plans show of strength  </b>
  Omer Farooq| Hyderabad
<b>After eliciting good response during Mr LK Advani's Suraksha Yatra in Rayala Seema region in the last two days, the BJP has now focused its attention on making his public meeting in Hyderabad a huge success.</b>
The party was mobilising large number of supporters from nearby Telangana districts of Ranga Reddy, Medak, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar to make the public meeting on the Nizam College ground an impressive show of strength. This is the first public meeting of the top BJP leadership since it lost power at the Centre in 2004 and fared miserably in the State Assembly election. The party could manage to win only two Assembly seats and drew a blank in the Lok Sabha elections. Senior party leaders, including party general secretary Javadekar, visited the venue of the public meeting and reviewed the arrangements. The police had made strict security arrangements at the venue.

Mr Advani, who will be flying to Hyderabad from his election campaign in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, will cover the Telangana districts of Medak, Nizamabad and Adilabad by road before he steps into Maharashtra.

<b>"We will be able to wipe out anti-minority image too"</b>
Interview
C.P. Radhakrishnan

It is not that the Bharatiya Janata Party is contesting the elections in the State for the first time without the support of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or the All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Unlike in the past, the party is now seeking to project itself as an alternative to them. The State unit president, C.P. Radhakrishnan, talks to T. Ramakrishnan on various issues.

QUESTION: Has the BJP grown in the last three-four years?

Tremendously. In the history of Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP, we received for the first time more than 1,000 applications [seeking party tickets]. There were 150 women and Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes. Sixty-four organisations had approached us for alliance, of whom 50 are Dalit organisations. This has removed the negative image that the BJP is anti-Dalit. We have never been anti-Dalit, anti-Muslims or anti-Christians. We do not believe in vote-bank politics. In future, we will be able to wipe out an anti-minority image too.

Q: Your party manifesto focussed on Hindutva. Will it click with voters of Tamil Nadu?

Hindutva is the inspiration. No manifesto can say something against Hindutva. We are proud to call ourselves as Hindus. That does not mean that we hate others. If Muslims and Christians are proud to call themselves as Muslims and Christians, why not Hindus? I do not understand why one, calling himself a Hindu, is labelled a communal.

Q: Your response to the criticism that the party is nowhere in the fray? You do not get the kind of attention that even Vijayakanth, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam founder, gets?

Vajpayeeji and Jayalalithaaji addressed a rally on the Island Grounds (at the time of Lok Sabha elections in 2004). When the BJP organised a rally on its own (in September 2005 when the party held its national executive) the similar crowd was there. Nobody thought that the BJP could hold such a massive rally on the Island Grounds. When Rajnathji came, nobody thought that in Pulla Reddy Avenue, where [the DMK president] Karunanidhi used to address big rallies, the same size of crowd which used to gather for the DMK, would be there for the BJP also. People used to ask where is the BJP in Tamil Nadu. Now, they are trying to say BJP cannot come to power.

Q: Are there different groups in Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP--anti-DMK and anti-AIADMK?

There is only one group in our party. That is the pro-BJP group. There are different styles in attacking the DMK or the AIADMK. I always attack the DMK more. Our real political opponents, not enemies, are the Congress and the Communists. When the DMK joined with them after backstabbing Vajpayeeji, I attack the DMK more than the AIADMK. That does not mean that I am supporting the AIADMK. I always support the interests of the BJP because the BJP's interests are in the nation's interests.

Q: Unlike the Communists who are able to retain their seats, your party does not even field your leaders from the constituencies in which they won previously?

We had won both Mylapore and Karaikudi seats because of alliance. We know our strength. I want to tell you that our strength is increasing everyday. Communists can give any false promise whereas the BJP will never do it.

Q: Has the party's ideology been diluted in the last four years by admitting people from other parties and those with no background of the Sangh Parivar?

Parivar wants us to grow. Every BJP worker takes his inspiration from the Sangh. A political party, by nature, has to be a mass-based party. So, we have to take more, more and more newcomers. All the newcomers, in that process, will convert themselves into self-disciplined Swayamsevaks.

[ Wednesday, April 19, 2006 07:51:10 pmPTI ]

RSS Feeds| SMS NEWS to 8888 for latest updates

JAUNPUR/BHADOHI: BJP President Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said Sonia Gandhi wants to see her son or daughter as Prime Minister of the country due to which she has declined the responsibility herself.

"The Congress President would never want to become the Prime Minister of the country as she wants to see her son (Rahul) or daughter (Priyanka) holding the post," he said in Jaunpur on the second leg of his 'Bharat Suraksha Yatra'.

He termed Gandhi's resignation from the Lok Sabha and Chairperson of the National Advisory Council as steps taken due to "compulsion", saying she was left with no option in the wake of the office-of-profit controversy.

"It is wrong to call it a big sacrifice," he said.

Attacking the Left parties supporting the government at the Centre, Singh said they were "mere chorus singers" with no separate identity of their own.

He accused the UPA government of trying to include over two crore Bangladeshi immigrants in the voters' list by providing them rations cards and warned that the BJP would "bring in a legislation to oust them" if it came to the power at the Centre.

Criticising the law and order situation, he said "the prices of commodities were spiralling but human blood was the cheapest with terrorists and criminals killing people at will. Even the effective POTA has been done away with, giving a boost to the morale of terrorists".

The BJP chief ruled out changing the colour of the party flag. "The suggestion was discussed in detail at the party forum and was rejected," he told reporters in Bhadohi.

Singh claimed that the 'yatra' was not aimed at wresting power but to highlight the problems faced by the people. "The 'yatra' should not be linked to elections".

The BJP was not interested in whether it was getting the support of Hindus or Muslims. "It is the Congress which considers such aspects for vote bank politics".

Speaking about the Uma Bharti and Madan Lal Khurana episodes, the BJP chief said they had parted ways and it would have no bearing on the party.

Mahajan's condition critical, but stable: Docs

Agencies | Mumbai

The condition of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who underwent a four-hour surgery after being shot at by his younger brother on Saturday morning, is "very critical", Dr Anupam Verma of the Hinduja hospital said.

Mahajan has suffered "massive blood loss" due to injuries in the liver, lower chest, abdomen, the pancreas, duodenum, and an important vein caused by the three bullets, Verma, the hospital dean, told reporters.

"The liver injury is extensive," he said, adding that Mahajan has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was put on ventilator support. None of the bullets has been removed.

Reading out a medical bulletin, Verma said Mahajan was brought to the hospital at 8:20 am. He had three bullet injuries in the lower chest and abdomen.

Bullets have travelled through the right lower part of the chest, through the diaphragm. They have gone through the liver, shattering its right side, damaged the head of the pancreas and duodenum, an inferior venacava (IVC), which is the main vein in the abdomen carrying blood to the heart. It has also injured the small intestine.

The injury to the IVC has been repaired and bleeding from there and from the head of the pancreas has stopped. The internal injuries have been repaired, the doctor said.

Verma said that since the injury to the liver was extensive, pads were being used to stop the bleeding.

Mahajan had blood transfusion to make for the blood loss, he said, adding major bleeding has been stopped but from the extensive liver injury it is still oozing.

"His condition presently can be dubbed quite critical. He is still oozing (blood). He is in the ICU on ventilatory support," Verma said.

<!--c1-->CODE<!--ec1-->Incident plunges BJP into a crisis - By Sanjay Basak

New Delhi, April 22: The BJP plunged into a major organisational crisis with the condition of its chief strategist and fundraiser party general secretary Pramod Mahajan, who was shot by his brother Pravin, continuing to be critical.

For the saffron camp, Mr Mahajan is one of the brains behind the party’s election strategies and backroom political manoeuvring. Mr Mahajan, suave and moderate, second-generation leader of the BJP, incidentally, is one of the few "organisational men" left in the party. Others had either passed away or have been suspended by the BJP.

Before Mr Mahajan, it was K.N. Govindacharya, who was considered as one of the main spin doctors of the BJP. Other leaders, who could boast of a mass base and grip on the organisation, were Uma Bharti and Madan Lal Khurana, who are now out of the saffron camp. Mr Mahajan, known as a "key crisis manager", always played an important role in coordinating with the saffron allies.

A leading second generation leader, Mr Mahajan was also tipped to take over as party chief in the long run. Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had anointed him as the future face of the BJP by describing Mr Advani as "Ram" and Mr Mahajan as "Lakshman". One of the most flamboyant saffron leaders, known for his "political instinct" and a network cutting across party lines, was considered "closest" to Mr Vajpayee. If Arun Jaitley was identified as being close to the party’s aggressive Hindutva face, Mr Narendra Modi, Mr Mahajan managed to maintain a "safe distance" and was seen as the "most moderate face" in the post-Vajpayee era. With Mr Rajnath Singh at the helm of the party, Mr Mahajan had emerged as the "key player" in the organisation. Incidentally, Mr Mahajan was also one of the most controversial leader in the saffron camp.

After the Assam Assembly polls, the party gave him the responsibility of the Rae Bareli byelection. Mr Mahajan has also been made in charge of Uttaranchal, which will go to polls next year. Other states given to him were Maharashtra and Goa.

Even as Mr Mahajan’s election managing skills failed to bring the NDA back to power in the last general elections with his "India Shining" campaign falling flat, the party kept its faith in him. Mr Mahajan was sent to Bihar to manage the polls along with general secretary Arun Jaitley.

It was Mr Mahajan’s election management which had brought back the BJP to power with a thumping majority in Rajasthan, while the media had predicted a Congress triumph during the last Assembly polls in the state. The BJP relied heavily on Mr Mahajan on the Maharashtra affairs. He was the party’s "last word" in Maharashtra politics.

Shocked by the incident, while the saffron top brass rushed to Mumbai, a prayer meeting was held at the national headquarters of the organisation for his "speedy recovery". After the BJP lost power in the last general elections, the lotus brigade was hit by one crisis after another. The first wave of trouble lashed the saffron camp was when its backward face Uma Bharti revolted against then party chief L.K. Advani. The BJP suspended Ms Bharti.

Immediately after, it was Mr Advani’s controversial remarks on Jinnah, which cost him the post of party president and brought to the surface the differences between the RSS and BJP. As the RSS targeted Mr Advani, the "cash-for-questions" and "MPLAD scams" struck. Before the outfit could recover, copies of a CD allegedly showing the sexual encounters of BJP general secretary (organisation) Sanjay Joshi surfaced.<!--c2--><!--ec2-->

<!--c1-->CODE<!--ec1-->Pramod Mahajan dies after multiple organ failure
By IBNLive.com
Mumbai: BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan, who was shot at by his younger brother on April 22, died in Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital on Wednesday.

The end came at 1610 hrs IST, said an official of the Hinduja Hospital. Mahajan, 56, is survived by his wife Rekha, son Rahul and daughter Poonam.

"It is with deep regret we have to announce that Pramod Mahajan, who had been battling for life for the last 12 days, succumbed to his bullet injuries," said Dr Pramod Lele, CEO, Hinduja Hospital.

"He was suffering from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome for the past four days, and that is what has caused his demise," said a senior doctor of the hospital.

Mahajan will be cremated at the Shivaji Park crematorium in central Mumbai on Thursday, said State BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

Mahajan’s body will be kept at the BJP state headquarters at Nariman Point from 2000 hrs IST till late night and will be then taken to his residence at Sir Pochkhanwala road in Worli.

During his 12 days at the hospital, Mahajan underwent three surgeries. He was constantly on ventilator and dialysis support. Doctors conducted a bronchoscopy on him on Tuesday to identify the cause of his respiratory problems.

He suffered multiple-organ failure on Wednesday and stopped responding to treatment. All his vital organs were on artificial support system since April 22.

Mahajan's younger brother Pravin Mahajan shot at him thrice in the BJP leader's 14th floor flat in an apartment block in Worli. When his revolver jammed, Pravin surrendered at the Worli police station. He has allegedly told the police Mahajan ill-treated and humiliated him.

The bullets severed the main vein in Mahajan's abdomen, shattered the right side of the liver, the top of his pancreas and damaged the small intestine, doctors at Hinduja Hospital said.

Doctors managed to stop his liver from bleeding, but then Mahajan's kidneys started malfunctioning and he had to be put on dialysis.

Mahajan's family flew in an Australian ortho-trauma specialist to Mumbai to support the medical services offered to the BJP leader. There was also a British expert attending on Mahajan from day two.

Condolence messages are pouring in for the departed leader from all political parties. The party flag has been lowered at the BJP headquarters in Delhi<!--c2--><!--ec2-->
