Radicalisation Of Indian Muslims -2
Indian Government and media is so much gaga over Haneef but ignoring 5 Indian Muslim are in jail in UK on terrorism charges and two were caught red handed.
The way Govt and media had closed eyes towards UK culprits, It just tells, Indian Govt and media will do nothing to expose Jihadism among Indian Muslims and world will find more Indian Muslim targeting peaceful world citizens all over world.
Thanks for the heads-up on the Madrid bombings Mudy (#178).

In the news (TV) they showed how Australia was letting Haneef return to India but that his Australian visa was cancelled and he could not return to work. It appears they have not found him innocent but have dropped the charges because they can't prosecute him on whatever evidence they have now:
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/natio...5339252767.html
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Federal Director of Public Prosecutions Damian Bugg QC said <b>the charge was dropped because there was no reasonable prospect of him being convicted on the evidence.</b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->There's three outcomes to criminal proceedings: innocent, guilty, and insufficient evidence to convict. The above para implies that the third is the case here. It's technically incorrect if newspapers in India were to pronounce him innocent merely because the charges against him have been dropped. Of course he may yet be innocent, but we don't know that.

But apparently the Australian immigration minister still considers him to pose enough of a threat to not bring him back, because they seem to have reasons to not reinstate his visa and don't intend to allow it to be reinstated. (Whatever reasons these are, they think these are insufficient to prosecute him with.) They appear to be more than just suspicions because the Australian government doesn't cancel visas on mere suspicions without insufficient cause:
http://theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,,...from=public_rss
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Mr Andrews, who cancelled Dr Haneef's work visa on July 16 when a Brisbane magistrate granted the doctor bail, said the commonwealth had no objection to Dr Haneef leaving Australia but would not reinstate his visa.

"The solicitor-general has advised me that despite the charge being withdrawn by the Director of Public Prosecutions, it would still be open to me <b>on the material now available</b> - that is with the charge having been withdrawn - <b>to come to the same conclusion to cancel the visa which I did originally</b>,'' Mr Andrews said.

<b>"Accordingly I do not propose to change my decision and the commonwealth will continue to resist this appeal in the Federal Court.''</b><!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->But the premier of Queensland said that if Haneef's visa is brought back into effect, they'll take him back. What amazes me is that they don't read between the lines of <i>why</i> immigration minister Andrews does not want to reinstate the visa...

Yet Haneef and his solicitor plan to fight to get the visa back because Haneef wants to continue living in Australia:
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews yesterday gave the go-ahead for Dr Haneef to return to India but refused to reinstate his visa.

Dr Haneef has vowed to continue to fight to have his visa reinstated in the hope he may one day even return to live and work in Australia, his lawyer says.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
All I can say is, may the good guy(s) win - whoever they are in this case.

RIDDEN by anti-Muslim feelings and spreading hate politics, India for quite some time has been trying to woo the US - led West not only by readjusting its nuclear ‘credentials’, but also by practising the western ‘cultural ethos’, probably on an experimental basis. Now that anything can be done to Muslims in India without fear and accountability, such nonsense is not condemned by the media and governments in India. Neither the UN or its various human rights agencies nor any tall leader in India could question injustice done to them, nor the Indian ‘patriotic’ media busy with themes like anti-Pakistanism, anti-Muslimism and Islamic terrorism would care to protect the rights of Muslims as enshrined in the Constitution by calling for administering justice to them.

<b>It has become a fashion to parade women in nude in western societies, but now the trend seems to have spread in India too, where the Muslim women are paraded nude in the streets. The ghastly ‘show’ took place in Uttar Pradesh (UP) in north India where Hindu woman chief minister belonging to a regional party, BSP, has assumed office recently.

Relatives of a Hindu cabinet minister of UP on July 10 conducted the ghastly open parading of Muslim women in the streets of Lucknow, a well - known cultural centre of Muslims in India, but, shockingly, neither the government of UP nor the Central government was aware of this dirty parading for nearly a week.</b>

All India Radio that behaves like anti-Islamic radio and committed to the anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan as well as terrorist propaganda with its so - called discussions and talks by the anti - Islamic persons freely available in India, has not reported the ‘cultural feast’ from India, because it would tarnish the image of the so - called secular and cultured India. The private media have also kept a total silence about the matter.

<b>Needless to state that the anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmir stand being pursed by the central government has emboldened the state governments to permit similar anti - Muslim actions without caring for any decency.</b> The hidden role being played by the leading national parties like the Congress in promoting such nefarious activities for political gains by the Hindus against Muslims in the country requires no elucidation. The ‘ugly street’ incident in Lucknow once again reveals hypocrisy of the state machinery, as well as of the politicians. The Lucknow dirty game clearly shows that the security of the people of a country depends more on the morality of the people who run the government than on its law and the constitution.

Politicians play with religious sentiments just to corner a few votes and make fortunes for their ‘services’ to the nation. As the media (both government - sponsored and other) play havoc in the lives of Muslims by cruelly projecting them as something undesirable elements in the ‘great’ Indian society, they are made to feel that they are under constant siege. It seems there can be no hope for any remedy to protect the common Muslim in India. Who will then safe-guard the genuine interests of these Muslims and help them live as honoured citizens of this ‘largest democracy’ of the world? The nexus between the politicians, bureaucrats and media magnets is too obvious to be described here. And would the trend continue in future too?

Indians who live quite comfortably in India and abroad are still so proud of their country’s ‘cultural heritage’ that they are intolerant to hear anything bad about real India.

They trumpet around saying that Indians are great and tolerant and the Muslims are terrorists and bad guys. Let them now say if what has in luck now reflects their concept of Indian culture.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Three legislators belonging to city-based Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen political party and over dozen of their henchmen were arrested for their bid to attack controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen at the press club in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The writer was in city to participate in a function to mark the release of a Telugu translation of her Bengali novel Shodh (Revenge) at the Press Club at Somajiguda. The book was translated into Telugu by writer Venigalla Komala.Soonafter the function started at around noon, a group of MIM activists led by MLAs Mohammed Muqtada Khan, Mohammed Moazzam Khan and Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri suddenly descended on the premises.

They stormed into the venue and tried to assault the author while raising slogans against her. The organisers present on the dias, quickly formed a human shield around the writer. The protestors failing to hurt the writer, rained blows on noted journalist Dr N Innaiah and others who were trying to shield a visibly shaken Taslima Nasreen. The miscreants tried to hit Innaiah with a chair and flower pots.

Journalists, press photographers and TV camera crew present to cover the function intervened and took out the MIM MLAs from the hall. MIM activists created a havoc in the Press club premises, damaging flower pots and furniture.

MIM workers raised full-throated slogans like "Taslima Nasreen murdabad (down, down), Taslima Nasreen wapas jao (go back)." They alleged that she had indulged in anti-Muslim and anti-Islamic writings and made derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammed.

The protest continued even as a police contingent led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West Zone Madhusudhan Reddy rushed to the spot. MIM activists staged a noisy rasta roko (road blockade) on the road opposite the Press Club for sometime before they were arrested by the police.

The police escorted out Taslima Nasreen to a "safe place." Later, the organizers lodged a complaint with the City Commissioner of Police, demanding stern action against MIM MLAs and activists under non-bailable sections of Indian Penal Code. They also demanded an unconditional apology from MIM for the unsavoury incident.

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>Al Qaeda in India </b>
Pioneer.com
Wilson John
Apart from a huge, disaffected population that has been successfully tapped by lesser terror groups before, Osama bin Laden may be helped by a complacent and ignorant security establishment

On August 6, Union Minister of State for Home, Sri Prakash Jaiswal, made two points while reacting to an Al Qaeda video stating that Delhi was its "legitimate target" in the future. First, he said, there was no confirmed news of any such threat "till now". Second, he said, "Our forces are alert to avert any such attempt." Both the points betray fatal ignorance and criminal ineptitude on the part of the Government, as represented by Mr Jaiswal.

By now Mr Jaiswal should know that Al Qaeda is not an organisation with a postal address and a mobile phone and a fax number or an email ID. It is an idea, howsoever devious, that has fired the imagination of countless Muslim men and women in different parts of the world, including India, for whom Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has become an icon of hope and inspiration.

With generous help from Washington, Laden, a Saudi billionaire businessman, has, in the first decade of the 21st century, become perhaps the most famous, and dreaded, figure. His agenda is clear: He wants to oust the Americans, once his benefactors, from Iraq and Afghanistan and punish the US and its allies for targeting Muslims and Muslim nations.

From a guerrilla leader, Laden has transformed himself into a crusader for the Islamic cause. He works with a composite group of aides and commanders (estimated to be no more than 500 across the world), adept equally in planning terrorist operations, drawing funds and weapons from various sources and activities, spreading propaganda largely through internet and working with various criminal, religious, political and social elements, including Dawood Ibrahim.

For Laden's Al Qaeda, India has always been a playground, both as a potential recruitment base and a target of terrorist onslaught. India, home to 140 million Muslims, second largest in the world after Indonesia, a land where Muslim rulers reigned once bringing glory to Islam, is a key element in Al Qaeda's long-term strategy, a large part of which is yet to unfold.

This strategy is largely inspired by the well-known ideologue of jihad, Syed Abul Ala Maududi, who wrote: "Muslim revivalists must not rest content with establishing the Islamic system in one or more countries already inhabited by the Muslims. They must initiate such a strong universal movement as may spread the reformative and revolutionary message of Islam among mankind at large. The final aim is to enable Islam to become a predominant cultural force in the world and capture the moral, intellectual and political leadership of mankind."

Jihad has flourished in India since long before Maududi's birth (1903) and bin Laden's emergence. In 1732, a Muslim preacher, Shah Waliullah, returned to his home in Delhi after studying Islamic concepts in Saudi Arabia for two years, and began preaching the need for purity in religious beliefs and practices.

An Arabian heretical preacher, Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab, who despised Sufism and other influences in the religion, inspired Waliullah and his followers. While Wahhab's followers called themselves Wahhabis, Waliullah's group came to be known as the Ahl-e-Hadith (the People of the Prophetic Tradition), which "refused to accept the supremacy of the British and the Hindus", and vowed to carry on the struggle through other means to "convert" India into an abode of Islam (dar-ul Islam) through jihad.

Although Waliullah's dreams remained hostage to historical changes taking place elsewhere in the world, several decades later, a Wahhabi, Osama bin Laden, decided to revive the fortunes of Ahl-e-Hadith by raising an organisation in Lahore, Pakistan, called Markaz Da'wat wa'l Irshad in 1986 which lost no time in setting up an armed wing to train mujahideens for Afghan jihad. The wing was named Lashkar-e-Tayyeba (LeT) or the Army of Pure.

There were two reasons why Laden chose to lend his money and support to the Ahl-e-Hadith organisation and not a Deobandi one which would have been the obvious choice. The group shared ideological moorings with Wahhabis and was more extreme in its religious leanings and practices than Deobandis who were larger in number and were exploited by Pakistan in launching a proxy war on India after the 1971 debacle. Second, it had a historical presence in India and had the potential of becoming a vehicle for Al Qaeda's future agenda to establish an Islamic arc of influence across Asia.

An assessment of LeT's operational history in India past decade or more reveal that it was acting according to a well-laid out Al Qaeda plan to set up a foothold in the country, with carefully chosen terror attacks to create fear and division among the people through mass deaths, destroy or damage religious and economic targets and incite communal violence. It is probable that this plan could have been devised by two of the best operational brains in Al Qaeda, Abu Zubeydah and Khaled Mohammad Sheikh, both of whom had visited India.

There is ample evidence to show that, in the recent years, after setting up its network in north and west India, LeT has been expanding its influence in east and south India and networking with other groups like Harkat-ul Jihad al Islami (HuJI) and Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) which are more openly aligned with Al Qaeda. National Security Adviser MK Narayanan last year summed up LeT as "nothing but Al Qaeda compact".

Another key element in Al Qaeda's India plans was Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) which, before it was banned, drew large funds from a group (banned after 9/11), the World Assembly of Muslim Youth founded by Laden's brother, Abdullah Laden, headquartered in Fall's Church, Washington. SIMI was created to give voice to the Muslim youth angered by the Indian state's failure to stem the communal violence and at a later stage become a coordination centre for recruitment, indoctrination and logistical command for terrorist operations in India.

Despite the ban, the series of terror attacks in India in the past decade, including the recent ones, have clearly shown the involvement of SIMI activists and their collaboration with groups like LeT and HuJI.

It is, therefore, clearly a case of colossal denial that there is no evidence of Al Qaeda in India. What Mr Jaiswal, and the Government of India, needs to do is to wait for Al Qaeda to make the next move. Soon.

Siasat editor launches political outfit, Munsif extends support
The peculiar politics of Hyderabad, which for almost six decades was dominated by the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), has taken a new turn with the editor of leading Urdu daily Siasat Zahed Ali Khan taking a plunge. But interestingly, he chose Chicago in US, which has a sizeable number of Hyderabadis, to announce the launch of his People's Democratic Front to take on the MIM. If this was not enough, another rival Urdu daily Munsif has also extended its support to the move with its editor Lateef Mohammed Khan giving a call to the people to support the new outfit to teach a lesson to the MIM.

<b>Zahed Ali Khan, in his address to the gathering of Hyderbadis in Chicago, hoped that his front would get support from the Left parties as well as MIM's rival organisation Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT). He said that he was forced to enter politics because of the failure of the MIM in solving the problems of the Muslim community. He said that his front would be on the lines of Muslim Democratic Front of Assam and it would contest 100 Assembly seats.</b>

There are also indications that Zahid Ali Khan himself will contest from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, which has traditionally been a stronghold of MIM winning the seat since 1984.

<b>The proposed formation of the Front is the culmination of almost three-year-long campaign run by two Urdu dailies in tandem with the Left parties against the MIM in Hyderabad. It was in response to this campaign that the Owaisi family had launched its own Urdu daily Etemaad one-and-a-half years ago. </b>

The main grouse of the two newspapers like many other opponents is that the MIM is ruled by a single family - Owaisis. While father Salahuddin Owaisi is the president of MIM, his eldest son is the Member of Parliament and younger son is the leader of the five-member legislative group in the State Assembly.

Lateef Khan, addressing a group of his supporters in Hyderabad, welcomed the move of Zahid Ali Khan and alleged that the MIM had exploited the Muslim community for its own benefit and amassed crores of rupees.

<b>The issue of the Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen has also triggered a holier than thou race with each trying to surpass the other in targeting, condemning and threatening the writer. Ironically, while the Left parties condemned the attack on Taslima, the two Urdu newspapers have condemned the MIM for its attack being half-hearted.</b>

With both the Left parties, CPI and CPI(M), already making inroads into the old city with the help of the two Urdu newspapers, the Muslim-dominated old city of Hyderabad seems to be all set to witness a no-holds-barred fight even before the next elections.

Members of two communities clashed after India's victory over Pakistan in the Twenty20 World Cup on Monday night, leaving 30 people injured in Rajouri border town and forcing authorities to impose prohibitory orders in the area.

Superintendent of police, Rajouri, was among the four security personnel injured in the incident in which police had to fire in the air to quell the mob.

Paramilitary forces and police are patrolling sensitive areas in view of the tension prevailing in the city, official sources said on Tuesday.

Giving details about the incident, they said some persons belonging to a community pelted stones on a group of people bursting crackers at the chowk in old Rajouri city late on Monday night.

Some youth, who were dancing to celebrate the victory, were injured. Irate youth charged back and attacked that group resulting in clashes which spread to two-three places in the city, they said.

As the situation turned grim, police and para-military intervened, but they too were subjected to stone-pelting causing injuries to Superintendent of Police T R Katoch, station house officer Tejinder Singh, police post in-charge Pushpinder Singh and Central Reserve Police Force Constable Amit Kumar.

Police later fired several shots in the air to separate the clashing groups and defuse tension, they said adding, nearly 23 persons were injured in the stone-pelting by both sides.

Shutters and sign boards of several shops were damaged by the mob, they said adding, the situation was brought under control.
