Pakistan News And Discussion-12
Pakistan has many museums dedicated to its 5000 year old invisible civilization. All the paintings there are invisible. People come and admire the non-existent paintings, sculpture, artefacts, coins, books etc. This is their national pastime, in fact, Jinnah wrote in Section 3(14) of the paki Constipation:

"Every citizen should do whatever he can to call everything pakistani and to tell the world about our non-existent greatness."

I have personally visited the Pak-i-Musaam in Faisalabad and seen the "Dargah-e-pork-u-whiskaan", one of their few visible exhibits, a tribute to the founder of pakistan. There is even a tape recording of the Qaid-e-Azam hiccupping. People were listening, beating their chests, and crying. A very moving scene.

A couple of quotes from the Atlantic Monthly article
"After Musharraf"

After Musharraf

QUOTELast November, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a bipartisan think tank in Washington, D.C., brought together more than two dozen former high-level United States government officials to take part in a half-day exercise on the future of Pakistan. In the room were former assistant secretaries of state and career ambassadors, as well as former senior officials from the Pentagon, the CIA, the Treasury, and USAID; it was a veritable who’s who of Washington’s Pakistan experts. The sponsors presented an escalating series of fictional crises—growing violence along the Pakistani-Afghan border, mass protests against the government by radical Islamists, the arrest of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto shortly after her return from exile—and asked participants how they would respond to rising chaos in the nuclear-armed state.

The exercise culminated with this scenario: In the aftermath of Pakistan’s national elections in late 2007, Taliban forces attempt to assassinate Afghan President Hamid Karzai, then retreat to a hideout in western Pakistan. U.S. forces pursue them, and an American soldier is taken captive in South Waziristan, a tribal region in Pakistan’s North-West Frontier Province. As the kidnappers post video images of the hostage on the Internet, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf orders his army to attack the Taliban compound. The assault frees the American soldier, but leaves hundreds of militants, Pakistani troops, and civilians dead or wounded. Antigovernment riots spread across the country, peaking in a confrontation between civilians and Pakistani forces in Lahore that leaves a dozen people dead. That evening, in what looks like a coup attempt, troops surround the houses of both Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz, the prime minister. Hours later, the U.S. ambassador receives a call from a previously unknown Pakistani two-star general, “raising serious concerns,” according to the scenario playbook, “over whether the chain of command in Pakistan has remained intact.”

And

QUOTEThe groups were unable to resolve critical questions with confidence. Though most agreed that the military would continue running the show, as it has for 33 of the last 60 years, there was widespread concern over whether the new army brass would likely be pro-American, anti-American, or something in between. There was also no consensus on whether the military—with Musharraf out of the picture—could hold the country.

QUOTEThe nightmare scenario for U.S. policy makers—and one reason they remain heavily invested in Musharraf—is an Islamic revolution in Pakistan. A tide of anti-American sentiment, some analysts fear, could bring to power Islamists, who would give free rein to the Taliban, spread nuclear technology to rogue states and terrorist groups, and support the mujahideen in Kashmir.

The belief here is that the Pakistani society is still an armed camp(kabila) still needing force to keep it together. The armed guards wont let any on ein or out. I had written this vision of the Pak society in one of my previous posts.

My thesis is that remove the armed guards and let the people develop roots and settle tdown. They must be tired after the long journey over the last millenium. Let them drop Urdu and adopt the regional languages_Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and Pashtu with English for globalization.

These are all winners and losers type of scenarios. And force the gameplayers to try to support the RATS no matter what happens. The US has not gamed any evolutionary scenarios.

India has faced a fundamentalist foe in West Pakistan through the millenia. A fundementalist takeover of TSP is a scenario that India can handle as it has to come to grips with the reality of the problem of Pakistan. This soft roll of the dice by the West where a Janus faced RATS are in charge with the West backing them is the fundamental problem for India.
QUOTEA fundementalist takeover of TSP is a scenario that India can handle as it has to come to grips with the reality of the problem of Pakistan.
India should worry about its own fundamentalist in Hyderabad, UP, West Bengal and Kerala. Pakistan is a smaller problem now because it can be checked by controlled action, they are concentrate in one place/country. Within India it will be difficult. Last three years had gien lot of hopes and resources to Islamist in India. I am not worried about Kashmir, They are not going to join Pakistan, they are clever and smart people. But rest of those in rest of India will be a major problem for future of India.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf appointed a new chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and promoted six major Generals on Friday - but held back two key appointments.

Nadeem Taj, on promotion to Lieutenant General, is the new ISI head. He has previously served as the military intelligence chief and as Musharraf's military secretary.

This has led to speculation that the replaced ISI chief, Lieutenant-General Ashfaq Pervez Kiani, could either succeed Musharraf as Army chief when he sheds his uniform later this year, or be made the Army's vice-chief if the President continues to wear the uniform.

Kiani had played a key role in the aborted talks with former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on a power-sharing deal with Musharraf on her return home.

Musharraf has chosen to remain silent on Vice-Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) General Ahsan Saleem Hyat and chairman of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Ehsan ul-Haq, both due to retire next month.

The other five major Generals who have been promoted to Lieutenant General are Mohsin Kamal, Javed Zia, Jamil Haider, Shujaat Zamir Dar and Muhammad Asghar. Kamal has been posted as Corps Commander, Rawalpindi, while Zia and Haider have been posted to General Headquarters (GHQ). Asghar has been posted as rector of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and Dar as head of the Anti-Narcotics Force.

The reshuffle came a day after Election Commission of Pakistan announced that presidential elections would be held on October 6. Nomination papers can be filed on September 27.

The Supreme Court is also hearing several petitions challenging Musharraf's right to hold the dual offices of President and Army chief, the legality of being elected in uniform, and whether he can be re-elected by the current Assemblies before they are dissolved for a general election due by mid-January.

I have been hearing about the "Karachi Terrace Liquor Parties" ever since I started to peek into the real world of the Paki...

But let there be no doubt about the above (167) headline: the guilty who egged on the pious to consume the haram liquid were Suresh, Gopal, Prakash, and possibly the unidentified person who may turn out to be kaafir. Allah meri tauba! Hai! Deliver us from the wily kaafirs, Most Merciful!

They are converted hindus, who were weak people to begin with, and unable to tolerate Islamic abuse. These coward people can't do anything. They are barking dogs only.
Did they ever won any war? everytime they ran back to hole with tails between legs.

Everyday I salute my ancestors for facing every odd and protecting our religion and Indic civilzation.
What these paki have? nothing? only they can remember their coward ancestors. But I have sincere sympathy towards those who are product of Islamic mass rape or forced harem.

US raps Pakistan crackdown on opposition QUOTEISLAMABAD, Pakistan - The United States strongly criticized Pakistan's government Monday, saying it was "extremely disturbed" by a roundup of opposition leaders ahead of key court rulings on the re-election bid by President Gen. Pervez Musharraf.

It was an unusual scolding from the country that has counted Musharraf as a key ally against al-Qaida since the Sept. 11 attacks, but his administration brushed off the comments, saying the crackdown is needed to prevent the opposition from fomenting trouble and trying to intimidate the Supreme Court.

"As a very close ally of Pakistan with a keen eye on Pakistan affairs, I am sure the U.S. does realize that in any democratic society there can only be a rule of law and not a rule by the mob," government spokesman Tariq Azim said.

Opposition leaders have warned of street protests if Musharraf presses ahead with his effort to be elected to a new five-year term by lawmakers next month. They also are challenging his plan before the Supreme Court, which rejected three petitions Monday but is considering others.

Police arrested some opposition leaders over the weekend and more on Monday as others went into hiding. The opposition said more than 200 political figures had been detained, while Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said about 40 were in custody as of Sunday..............
