Twenty20 World Cup
India vs South Africa
In the praise of Indian seamers

Indian seamers won the Twenty20 match against South Africa. RP Singh’s surgical performance against South Africa was truly remarkable. He was very well supported by Sri Santh.

I noticed RP Singh creates bounce of difficult heights. His pitches have lots of forward momentum even those pitches that bounce high. So a batter is dealing with two problems difficult height and very little time to react. He creates difficult angles for a batter as well and yet remains within the tight width of the wicket. His over the wicket and under the wicket runups are very tightly controlled. Excellent performance RP Singh!

Now coming back to the batters. The top order collapsed again. But we had a new star R Sharma. I saw some good quality batting from R Sharma. MS Dhoni did his part as well. Thanks to them, India was able to put over 150 runs. There were some excellent shots by Robin Utthappa. I think Robin Utthappa has potential to become an explosive middle order batter for Indian team. His reliability has improved tremendously in past few matches although he did not do that well in this match. But then why just single him out?

If our top order batters fail us again against Australia then we would be in serious trouble. Seamers can only do so much. Keep in mind Cricket is a game designed to favor a batter. If a batter cannot consistently put a paltry 30-run score on the table in a Twenty20 format then he is not a batter. I support the decision to sit Sehwag if the news is accurate. I think Gautam Gambhir is technically more robust than Sehwag. I see a great potential in Gautam Gambhir.

India beats Australia in semi finals by 15 runs.

India will play Pakistan in the final match of Twenty20 World Cup 2007 on this coming Monday.

Excellent performance by Sri Santh, Joginder Sharma and Yuvraj. Good fielding by Robin Utthappa. Good job boys!

Selectors,

Please do not let us down again.

Please drop Sehwag and replace him with Tendulkar. Keep the rest of the team. And then we can win the game against Pakis.

When these paki bastards don't know what to say, they always turn to "islam" (and paki islam is all Babur-worshipping islam: mughals were great onlee. Babur-Ghori opening stand alone would have won the game for pakistan in 7.2 overs. One down Ghazni, 2 down Tejo mahalay desecrator Shahjahan, 3 down Tipu would not even have to bat. Aur to aur, Aurangzeb the leg-spinner and beheader would have won the game himself if need be).

30 injured in clashes after Twenty20 final
QUOTEGiving details about the incident, they said some persons belonging to a community pelted stones on a group of people bursting crackers at the chowk in old Rajouri city late on Monday night.

Some youth, who were dancing to celebrate the victory, were injured. Irate youth charged back and attacked that group resulting in clashes which spread to two-three places in the city, they said.

Ah! The community of peace strikes again! I pity the poor decent Muslim fraction who cannot see a day (or a minute) go by without some lightbulbs from their community showing off their hatred of civilized people (also known as "Kaafirs").

Sir : The defeat in the final of the Twenty20 tournament should make it clear to the nation that religious beliefs have nothing to do with sports. Everybody was expecting Pakistan to win the final as it was being played in the month of Ramadan. The 1992 World Cup was won in Ramadan with the wrong conception that the title was won due to the prayers of the faithful in the holy month. The clear message of Islam is that whosoever works hard will be rewarded. Prayers without effort have no consequence. For the first time the bowling and fielding was much improved due to hard work and not just prayers. The religious brigade in the team should change their attitude towards the game and avoid bringing religion into cricket. The faith of the nation must be coupled with hard work in training and consistent performances on the pitch.

It's but more proof that islamic allah is nothing more than the collective delusion of the ummah. He doesn't exist, hence praying to him did nothing. Let me 'splain - it's like basic math: millions of muslims times zero = zero. We've worked out that the value of variable allah equalled zero from the following: we know the "muslims all over the world praying" on the LHS, and we know the result on the RHS (which is loss against India), hence simple maths unravelled the 'mystery' of allah.

And now you know that math is haraam.

India crushes Australia with a seven wicket victory. Good job by youngsters.

I am really pissed about ICC's double standard on racism. ICC chief Malcom Speed asked BCCI to investigate the so called racial treatment of Andrew Symonds but they never bothered to lift a finger when Indian players were racially insulted in England and Australia.

I am not going to spend even a paisa of my hard money on Cricket matches unless BCCI grows some balls and demands fair treatment for our players.

Whoever is BCCI chief, he has to be a stupid hijara. Also, we should be pushing for some talented people like Sunil Gavaskar to head the ICC organization instead of racist scums like Malcom Speed.

Let us boycot cricket.

yesterdays match very clinical, aussies wasted lot of balls in the ending overs, they where scoring 6 per over, i think they could'nt get our of the ODI mode. ponting was playing technical clean shots, when they should be playing the extravgant yuvraj shots, or dancing down robin uthappa strokes.

aussies were rooted to the grease and lost scoring 6 per final overs

In my humble opinion, it is not the format of the game but the player selection that worked in favor of India. This team selection was ideal minus Sehwag's selection. It baffles me that Sehwag was selected. The current team minus Sehwag is an ideal team for both T20 and ODI games. If India keeps this team (T20), they will win against Pakis without any problem.

Last over in ODI is the same as the last over in T20. In both cases, you have to slog to score the maximum runs you can. Problem with Australia was not that they could not get out of ODI mode but that they did not have kind of hitters you need for T20 games.

In T20 games, Gambhir, Utthappa and Yuvraj can shift to slog mode right away and if they do not get unlucky, they can be devastating just in couple of overs. These three players are ideal for T20 games. Yuvraj is also very effective in ODI. With little work, both Gambhir and Utthappa can be quite effective in ODIs as well.
