Decision '08: Barack Obama is changing churches in hopes of changing the subject long enough to slip into the White House. But it won't change what he believes. Who'll pin him down?

Now we have to start every day joke of BHO
which should cover 57 states.
Apteji,

On healthcare:
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->I can tell you that what gets Hillary Clinton up in the morning – even in the face of tough odds – is exactly what sent her and Bill Clinton to sign up for their first campaign in Texas all those years ago; <b>what sent her to work at the Children’s Defense Fund and made her fight for health care as First Lady; </b>what led her to the United States Senate and fueled her barrier-breaking campaign for the presidency – an unyielding desire to improve the lives of ordinary Americans, no matter how difficult the fight may be.  And you can rest assured that when we finally win the battle for universal health care in this country, <span style='color:red'>she will be central to that victory.  </span>When we transform our energy policy and lift our children out of poverty, it will be because she worked to help make it happen. <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I'll rest my case.

As Barak embarks on a new role, I wish him well and pray that he's not guided by lies, half-truths, innuendo and the divisive rhetoric emanating from the lunatic fringe elements within the party.
<b>Obama's Mythical Intelligence</b>
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->After Spanish and French names for hurricanes -- such as Juan and Claudette -- were added in 2003, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Houston, said hurricane names should be more representative of the cultures they impact, including blacks:

<b>Some black lawmakers don't seem to mind, but Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) does. "All racial groups should be represented," said Lee. </b>

The World Meteorological Organization began naming tropical storms after women in 1953. That made sense to scientists at the time who thought women and storms were both unpredictable. After feminist groups protested, men's names were added in 1979.

The National Weather Service says hurricane names are derived from languages spoken in areas that border the Atlantic Ocean, where such storms occur. Yet that doesn't explain <b>why Gaston, Ernesto and Cindy were chosen and Antwon, Destiny and Latonya were passed over.</b>

<b>Lee said she hoped in the future the weather establishment "would try to be inclusive of African American names."</b>

Lee's call for action may have been heard by the World Meteorological Organization, which selects hurricane names for the Atlantic basin. Because of their destruction, hurricane officials have retired the storm names Dennis, Katrina, Rita, Stan and Wilma. The replacements are: Don, Katia, Rina, Sean and Whitney.

What matters is Dee Dee Myers was Clinton's press secretary.While VF cited anonymous sources, it doesn't mean that the sources doesn't exist. If Clintons are upset, they should sue VF for libel

I am amused that while you criticize VF, you have nothing to say about the dubious sources posted in this page itself. Examples - WND that has written another hatchet piece on Clinton. "Atlas Shrugged" blog which has innuendos about all democrats be it Clinton, Carter, Kerry and full of islamophobia (with a picture of Pelosi in a head-scarf with a lebel "Pelosi-islam")

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Even Obama doesn't agree with you
<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I don't have to agree with everything that Obama says. If you had read carefully, obama said "she WILL be central", i.e. in a future democratic administration.

I remember Bill Clinton being livid because he felt Obama didn't acknowledge the "achievements" of his government.
<b>LaRouche Warns of McCain Defeat of Obama</b><!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->June 4, 2008 (LPAC)--I warn that as matters stand right now, the ham-handed actions on Senator Obama's behalf by financier circles aligned with Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, are handing the general election of the next U.S. President of the Republic to the candidacy of Senator John McCain. <b>I therefore denounce the Democratic National Committee Chairman, and his accomplices such as London stooge George Soros, for conducting a flagrantly fraudulent operation against the vital interests of the United States and civilization generally.</b>

<b>The evidence, thus far, is that an Obama nomination at the August Democratic convention would virtually guarantee a massive victory of Republican candidate John McCain over Dean's choice, Obama. Whereas, trend analysis shows that Senator Hillary Clinton would almost certainly sweep a current election against rival Senator McCain.</b>

Dean and company have conducted what must be assessed as a fraud- packed operation against the vital interests of the U.S.A., particularly against the interests of those Americans in the lower 80 percent income-brackets, who have voted, at current account, overwhelmingly for Senator Hillary Clinton, because they view her as the only candidate running who has been addressing the life-and-death issues that concern them the most.
<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--><b>As bad as the Obama candidacy looks when viewed from the standpoint of the probable coming November election-results, it looks far, far worse when attention is turned to the already dangerous effects that Obama's candidacy is having on the strategic position of the United States in the world at large. </b>

This is a threat to our nation which every patriot must act to defeat, a threat by a foreign power to take control over the Presidency of the United States. <b>This attempted betrayal of our nation must be struck down now, while we still have a sovereignty to defend.</b>
<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Meanwhile, Obama (yet again) goes along puncturing a few more holes in Apteji's "the she-devil-hillary-n-billo" theory by giving a extremely favorable opinion about Clintons - watch yesterday's inteview with Brian Williams. <!--emo&:blow--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Apteji, you have to understand a bit out on-line forums. I mean the forums that exists independently without support of clout or $ that paid bloggers are accustomed to.
If you jump in heat of the campaign season and start hitting in one thread for one camp, you are for sure taken a little lightly compared to those who have been posting here for over 4 years on a wide variety of subjects pertaining to India, US and NRI community.
I personally might not believe in what's been said by every postor or post. But occasionally one extends other courtesy now and then and I'm sure you too will be extended the same over time; but for now it's hard to imagine you contributing anything to this forum other than your personal prejudices against one candidate (this despite your own candidate's words which are complete contrast to your own).

If you have any policy issues to discuss, I'll pitch in; else, pardon me if I tune off.
Now, time had come to watch US stock market, Oil price , dollar rate and commodities index.
Check who are players.
Right now, four are front runner.
This is from Obama mothpiece Huff post, they had polished it bit but, check how dangerous is this BHO
<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Update: Obama and Lieberman had a heated conversation on the floor of the Senate later today. Details below.

Senator Joe Lieberman, serving aptly as John McCain's foreign policy attack dog, jumped on a conference call with reporters on Wednesday to rip holes into Barack Obama's stance on Israel.

Playing off of Obama's address to the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the Connecticut independent acknowledged that he hadn't heard the speech -- and urged for a "civil and constructive" presidential campaign -- before taking Obama to task for not being consistently tough on Iran.

"I appreciate many of the very good intentions to Israel and Israeli security that Senator Obama expressed today," said Lieberman. "I thought in the speech there was a disconnect between things Senator Obama said today, particularly in regard to Iran, and things he has said or done earlier either in the campaign or the Senate."

The crux of Lieberman's argument, however, was that Obama was putting the blame for Iran's rise in the Middle East on America's doorstep, pushing the argument that the Iraq war had strengthened Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's standing in the region and left Israel left secure.

"If Israel is in danger today it is not because of us foreign policy, which has been strongly supportive of Israel in every way," he said. "It is not because of what we have done in Iraq. It is because Iran is a fanatical, terrorist, expansionist state and has a leader and a leadership that constantly threatens to extinguish the state of Israel."

The remarks fit into a traditional GOP rallying cry, that the Democrats have a blame-America-first mentality. But there are outstanding factors that could muddle Lieberman's message. For starters, most objective metrics indicate that Iran has, in fact, been strengthened by America's involvement in Iraq. The Persian nation, after all, has increasingly meddled in Iraqi affairs.

But also, McCain, despite tough rhetoric on Iran, has several advisers with deep connections to the country; perhaps the most embarrassing of which is Charlie Black, the campaign's chief strategist. Before leaving his perch as a D.C. lobbyist, Black represented a Chinese oil company that did business with the Iranian government. He and his firm also represented Ahmad Chalabi, the Iraqi exile who helped churn up support for the war in the United States and has subsequently been accused of selling U.S. secrets to Iran.

UPDATE: Roll Call reports:

<b>Furthermore, during a Senate vote Wednesday, Obama dragged Lieberman by the hand to a far corner of the Senate chamber and engaged in what appeared to reporters in the gallery as an intense, three-minute conversation.

While it was unclear what the two were discussing, the body language suggested that Obama was trying to convince Lieberman of something and his stance appeared slightly intimidating.

Using forceful, but not angry, hand gestures, Obama literally backed up Lieberman against the wall, leaned in very close at times, and appeared to be trying to dominate the conversation, as the two talked over each other in a few instances.</b>
Still, Obama and Lieberman seemed to be trying to keep the back-and-forth congenial as they both patted each other on the back during and after the exchange.

Afterwards, Obama smiled and pointed up at reporters peering over the edge of the press gallery for a better glimpse of their interaction.

Obama loyalists were quick to express their frustration with Lieberman's decision and warned that if he continues to take a lead role in attacking Obama it could complicate his professional relationship with the Caucus.

Here is another flip flop from Empty suit<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->Obama caves under pressure!

Earlier, Hamas expressed displeasure at Barack Obama's speech to AIPAC. So what did Obama do? He caved to Hamas.

The Washington Post reported it as "Obama Backtracks on Jerusalem" and Reuters as "Facing criticism, Obama modifies Jerusalem stance". WaPo:
<b>Facing criticism, Obama modifies Jerusalem stance</b>
<!--QuoteBegin--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->
Facing criticism from Palestinians, Sen. Barack Obama acknowledged today that the status of Jerusalem will need to be negotiated in future peace talks, amending a statement earlier in the week that Jerusalem "must remain undivided."  <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
<b>Palestinians slam Obama on Jerusalem remark</b>

So let's make this very clear. Under pressure from Palestinians and terrorists, Obama caves on perhaps Israel's most fundamental issue. Not a good sign for those meetings with Ahmadinejad, is it.

<b>Obama Pushes for Higher Investment Taxes</b>

<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->As part of his "Tax Fairness for the Middle Class" plan, <b>Barack Obama is in favor of nearly doubling the capital-gains tax rate from 15 percent to 28 percent</b>. <b>On the flag Pin:</b>
First he said he wouldn't wear it because it was a substitute for true patriotism.

Then in Kentucky he said it just "happened" to be on his suit.

Now today he's trying to appeal to working class whites and he's claiming that he's wearing it to stop the rumors about his patriotism. "I just wanted to make sure that nobody was confused because there were e-mails going out that somehow I didn't say the Pledge of Allegiance and so forth," he said. "I just wanted to knock down those lies."
