QUOTEIndian troops fire at Pakistani soldiers along LoC: military ISLAMABAD, July 26 (AFP): Indian forces fired on Pakistani troops deployed at a forward checkpost along the de-facto border dividing Kashmir between the two countries, a senior military official said Saturday. Pakistani troops returned fire but there was no report of casualties. “Indian troops fired mortars and machine gun at Battal in Rawalakot sector at 11am (PST) Saturday but there were no casualties on our side,” chief military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas told AFP. He said Pakistani troops retaliated with “full force” to stop the “unprovoked” Indian fire. “We have demanded an immediate flag meeting between senior military officials of the two countries,” Abbas added. This was the second violation of ceasefire on Line of Control which separates the Indian and Pakistani parts of the Himalayan territory, since early this month. Jawan killed as Pak open fire on Indian positionsQUOTESrinagar: An Army jawan was killed on Monday as Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian positions in Nowgam sector, Kupwara district near the Line of Control (LoC) Jammu and Kashmir, Army sources said.
Sources said Indian troops came under heavy fire from the across the LoC at around 15:30 hrs IST at Khayan in Nowgam sector.

One Army jawan from 22 Rajput battalion has been killed. Sources added that Indian troops retailated with small arms fire.

According to sources, 15 Pakistani soldiers entered into the LoC in Kaiyan Bull in Nowgam. They approached the Forward Observation Post of the Indian Army and told them to vacate the post. Then they shot at one on the Indian sepoys on the post who fell down into the ravine.

India has asked for a flag meeting and ceasefire so as to recover the body of the dead sepoy.

However, the Pakistani army denied Indian claims and said Indian troops ''resorted to unprovoked firing'.

Pakistani troops immediately returned fire and the shooting from the Indian side stopped, the Pakistani army said in a statement.

This is the first violation of ceasefire between India and Pakistan in Nowgam sector.

Violations had been reported earlier in Tangdhar, Poonch and Rajouri sectors of the state earlier this year.

India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire along the International Border and LoC in 2003, which had held good till the beginning of this year. On July 10, the two sides accused each other of violating a 2003 cease-fire.

QUOTEClashes end on LoC; Indian army accuses Pakistan of 'serious' ceasefire violation SRINAGAR, occupied Kashmir, July 29 (AFP) The Indian army accused Pakistan Tuesday of a “serious” ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir after a fierce overnight gun battle. The fighting was sparked by an incursion and killing of an Indian soldier by a small unit of Pakistani troops in the mountains north of Srinagar, the army said. “The fighting lasted for 13 to 14 hours,” Indian army spokesman Anil Kumar Mathur told AFP. Indian army spokeswoman Neha Goyal said the latest clashes halted with India proposing a “flag meeting” - or formal meeting by army officers from both sides. Atleast for now English media won't blame NDA or RSS or BJP for LOC firing, For 6 year they blamed them daily basis.

India's greatest seculars who were dying to shake hands, kiss La-hore checks and inviting Mujara girls from Heera Mandi to their sons and daughter’s weddings should be ashamed of themselves.

Those who believed that peace initiative with Pakistan will ever work should be ashamed of themselves.

Last, it’s a paki slap on wagah border candle kissers. Why those jokers are not collecting money for candles and trip to border?

Pakis firing again.

QUOTESrinagar, August 2
Making light of India's protests, Army posts in Uri sector of Baramulla district came under firing from across the border last evening, the third such brazen violation of the ceasefire agreement by Pakistan in less than a month.

Official sources said Pakistan's troops used small-arm fire to push militants into the Indian side. There were no casulaties.

“They appeared to have engaged us so that infiltrators could be pushed through. But I can't confirm the infiltration,” an official said.

Pakistani forces had fired on Indian posts in Nowgam sector in Kupwara on July 28 and July 30. In the first, their soldiers had intruded into the Indian side and targeted a bunker that killed a jawan. In retaliatory fire, at least four Pak soldiers were killed. Pakistan had denied this, though.

The two armies held a flag meeting on July 29 after the firing on July 28 but there was mortar firinf by Pakistani troops the very next day.

The Pakistani army has violated the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect from 2003, at least 20 times this year.

Sources in the Army believe that a weak government in that country has emboldened extremist elements in their army and they are out to sabotage the ceasefire pact.

As India celebrated its Independence Day, Pakistani troops fired mortars and rockets at Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) positions at two places in forward areas of Jammu region on Friday , marking yet another ceasefire violation.

The two incidents took place within an hour of each other along the international border at R S Pura in Jammu sector and the Line of Control at Mandi in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, according to Army sources in New Delhi.

With the two incidents being reported, the number of violations of the November 2003 ceasefire agreement with India by Pakistan Army since January this year has reached 24. At R S Pura, Pakistani troops fired rockets at BSF positions at Dhulia, Katmadia and Sangrul for about 45 minutes starting at around 2.10 am.

"The firing of rockets did take place this morning and it is a major incident. But since the rockets were targeted at BSF positions, the Army is yet to ascertain the details of the incident," Defence PRO at Jammu Lt Col SD Goswami told PTI.

The Pakistani troops fired some five rounds of rockets at each of the three BSF posts, Army sources said.

An hour earlier, Pakistan Army also lobbed 60-mm mortar shells at Indian Army positions at Mandi area of Poonch sector in the state.

"There were a couple of rounds of mortar fire by Pakistani troops at our positions in Mandi of Poonch sector," a top Army officer said in New Delhi.

They also resorted to indiscriminate small arms fire in the area and the firing continued for a few minutes.

In both the incidents of ceasefire violations, no damage was caused or casualties were reported on the Indian side, the sources added.

Well under Moron Singh instruction Army can fire on armless Indians but infront of Pakis they should hide or run towards race course.

Pak troops fire across LoC, 2 jawans injuredQUOTEIntelligence sources said two jawans were injured in the cross-border firing and shifted to hospitals. In the first incident on Saturday, Pakistani troops from Daruchian post resorted to unprovoked firing on posts manned by the Gorkha Regiment and Maratha Li in Mendhar, to facilitate infiltration by a group of three to four militants. Indian troops retaliated and forced the militants to flee back to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. In the ensuing firing, one jawan was injured. In the second incident, Pakistani troops opened fire to facilitate another infiltration attempt in Soujian on Sunday. There was small weapon firing on Indian forward posts manned by Bihar regiment troops, who opened retaliatory fire. A sepoy was injured.

Sources also reported a major ceasefire violation in Rajouri district, where Pakistani troops reportedly fired 8-10 rockets on Sagar-Bhala Gun hilltop, Gorha, Chaja and other posts

Indian troops on Saturday foiled an infiltration bid by a group of armed militants, who tried to enter a border district in Jammu and Kashmir under the cover of firing by the Pakistani forces, a BSF spokesman said.

Pakistani Rangers opened fire on Chak Fagwari Border Out Post (BOP) along the International Border in Pargwal sub-sector of Jammu frontier in the wee hours of Saturday, the spokesman said.

He said a big group of militants tried to enter into Indian territory in Zeroline area under the cover of Pakistani firing.

The militants also fired and targeted troops with grenades, he said, adding that BSF troops and patrol parties retaliated the firing from the other side.

The exchange of fire continued for nearly an hour, he said, adding that BSF troops also fired mortar bombs on militants.

BSF troops beat back the infiltration bid as the militants later escaped to the Pakistani side.

There was no loss of life or injury in the cross-border firing and searches are being conducted in the area.

The Pakistani troops also committed ceasefire violation, he said.

Earlier on August 25, three militants had infiltrated along Kanachak area after cutting fencing under cover of Pakistani firing.

They were later killed in a gunbattle at Chinore area of Jammu which also left five civilians and three jawans dead.
