10 killed in Mumbai terror attackQUOTEMumbai was rocked by several incidents of firing at four different public places on Wednesday night, and ten people were reportedly killed in the suspected terror attacks. All incidents were within a radius of three kms in the posh South Mumbai.

The first incident of firing was reported at Leopold Cafe, a well-known watering hole for tourists and foreigners in Colaba.

The second incident was near Taj Mahal [Images] hotel, the third was near Oberoi hotel in Nariman Point and the fourth one was at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station. Two of them are Mumbai's iconic and best-known five-star hotels and the third is one of the busiest railway stations in the city.

No one including the police will confirm the reason behind the firing except the fact that some unknown people started firing indiscriminately.

Eyewitness also said that some grenades were thrown at a police van and also of two bomb blasts near the Oberoi hotel but it was not confirmed by officials. The Mumbai police have cordoned off all the areas.

A blast was also reported in a cab in Vile Parle in suburban Mumbai. This is near the Mumbai airport.

Additional Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti confirmed the shootout at Colaba but did not give out details.

Two persons armed with automatic weapons and hand grenades are reportedly holed up inside CST station.

Sounds of gunshots are still being heard. Hundreds of onlookers gathered outside the station. The station and premises have been evacuated

Sources in the Cuffe Parade police station said that the police was still looking for the miscreants behind the firing at Colaba Causeway.

Eyewitnesses said that they heard at least 20 shots in CST station. Policemen and ambulances have rushed to the affected areas, they said.
....

Maharashtra Director General of Police A N Roy said that this was a suspected terror attack. "The terrorists have been surrounded in Oberoi Hotel. Right now, the encounter is going on," he said.

The IB says that they have come to the conclusion due to two reasons. One is that the use of AK-47 rifles. IB sources told rediff.com that apart from security personnel only terrorists have access to AK-47s. They also add that the firing was indiscriminate and largely aimed at causing panic

Stupid people are ruling India. Indian Government is joke of world, Today local radio is cracking on Indian Navy claims on Somali pirate incidence. Pirate incidence must have given sound sleep to Moron Singh atleast Thai Buddhist/Hindus died not Muslim Somalies.

Now we have to watch Shame of India Manmohan Singh sleep. If he sleep well, majority of Hindus died in Mumbai and killers are Muslim or if he lose sleep, it means rest of India will have sense of relief.

Another reason for the IB to say it was a terror attacks is due to the fact that the operation was synchronised. Any synchronised or serial attack amounts to a terror strike, IB sources maintained.

An IB official said that it is too early to come to any conclusion on the motive behind the attack.

The IB adds that this kind of attack (serial firing) is completely new. Smuggling bombs/explosives had become difficult especially since the heat on terror operations were stepped up. Hence the module, which carried out the attack thought of this new method, IB sources said.

Coordinated terror strike leaves 16 dead in Mumbai
Zeenews Bureau
Mumbai, Nov 26: Indiscriminate firing and coordinated blasts in eight places of South Mumbai left over 25 dead and around 50 injured in the nation’s financial capital on Wednesday night. All the blasts have taken place in the vicinity of posh hotels in the area, including the Taj and the Trident.

The incident of firing has taken place at the Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), outside Café Leopold in Colaba, Nariman point and outside the Taj and the Tridient, (formely Oberoi) hotels.

The terror strike which began at 1033 PM at Chhatrapathi Shivaji Terminus(CST),formerly known as the Victoria Terminus(VT), claimed 10 lives in the premises of the station alone, police said. 30 persons have been injured at the CST. Commandoes have been rushed to the CST which wears a deserted look as train services have been suspended. Firing is still on at the station.

Three persons were killed in a bomb explosion in a taxi on Mazegaon dockyard road and an equal number were gunned down at Taj Hotel. Another blast is also reported from the Mazgoan area. The victim in the hotel were its employees. Police and the terrorists are exchanging fire in as many 5 places in Mumbai, including in the Taj hotel.

The lobby of the Oberoi hotel was on fire and the hotel has been evacuated, eyewitnesses said. But two terrorists still remain holed up inside the building and have taken about 40 people hostage. A major operation is being planned for the rescue of those still inside.

An NSG team has been rushed to Mumbai.

Some people were injured in the firing in Oberoi hotel, and taken to a nearby hospital in police vans and ambulance. Firing was also reported in Taj hotel.

Firing was also reported at Colaba, Nariman Point and near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal, formerly Victoria Terminus and it was still continuing.

Firing was also reported at Cama Hospital in south Mumbai, police said, adding that a blast was reported in a taxi under a flyover in suburban Vile Parle.

Director General of Police A N Roy said at least two terrorists were holed up inside the Trident(Oberoi) Hotel where firing was on. The anti terror squad led by its chief Hemant Karkare, has entered Oberoi, while the RAF commandos are in action at the Taj.

25 dead bodies are at the St George’s Hospital alone.

Meanwhile, Railway authorities have stopped trains going to CST in view of the firing incidents. Extra forces have also been rushed to the station.

Blasts have been reported from Majhgoan and Vile Parley, outside the BMC office, Nariman house and outside Centaur hotel and at Colaba. All the five deaths have been reported from Vile Parley.

The blast in Colaba was due to an exploding BP petrol pump.

Maharashtra DGP A N Roy said tonight's attack in "at least seven places" is a "terror strike."

High alert has been sounded in Mumbai, and the police has asked the public to stay indoors.

Meanwhile the PM has been briefed about the terror attack, and has met the leader of opposition LK Advani. The Prime Minister and the Congress president Sonia Gandhi have spoken to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh over the incident.

Americans are major target, mostly on business trip or working in Mumbai and iT industry. Hostage on roof top of hotels.

Manmohan Singh, PM of India is busy changing his diapers.

We can start diaper donation campaign from US. Churai/bengals Campaign failed when Manmohan Singh agreed to do Mujara on demand.
