Now Amar Singh and CM of Maha had to get new police guys in payroll to attack Hindus. Police will look for promotions, now top three slots are available, biggest sucker will get job and promotion. Patna, Nov 27 (PTI) Terming the terror strikes in Mumbai as the result of "failure" on the part of intelligence and security agencies, CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan today demanded resignation of Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
"Home Minister Shivraj Patil should resign as it is his responsibility and not of the state government. But the state government could not be given a clean chit as it too failed in providing security to Mumbaikars," Bardhan said adding that the Maharashtra government was the most inefficient government.
Bardhan said terrorist attack has exposed the chinks in the armour of Central intelligence and security forces.
Expressing concern over the attack, he said that it has been done by an organised and sophisticated terrorist outfit exposing the tall claim of the Central government about its intelligence preparedness.
The terrorists have attacked seven places right from north to south Mumbai and the government did not have any information, Bardhan said.
He said, "We want to know from the government the strategy adopted to check the frequent terrorists attacks and also to nab the terrorists." PTI

My mind boggles to think of what goes on in the minds of people who write such nonsense, its obvious killing the most was never their objective, they really wanted to show how weak Indian security is and they have succeeded spectacularly, this is going past 24 hours now and even 1 of the hotels hasnt been fully cleared.
If they really wanted to kill a few hundred, they would have done it without all this hoopla by placing bombs as usual.
The city has come to a stand still, people are afraid to venture out, 16 cops have died and 2 army men if reports are correct, now please show me any schoolkid shoot out in US where they killed 16 cops and the army had to be called in.
And from the pics published of them, they all seem teenagers well below 18, they showed to the world that a bunch of teenage terrorists is all that takes to bring India the supposed future superpower to its knees, if thats not embarassing i don't know what is.
Expect more attacks soon if something is not done in retaliation this time.
Army is trained to fight orgainsed, disciplined opposition. These terrorist were not professionally trained , they just know how to use weapons and create havoc. I can bet Army went in with restriction that high valued hostage inside, protecting hostage is more important.

Militant Attacks In Mumbai and Their Consequences
At this point the situation on the ground in Mumbai remains unclear following the militant attacks of Nov. 26. But in order to understand the geopolitical significance of what is going on, it is necessary to begin looking beyond this event at what will follow. Though the situation is still in motion, .<b>the likely consequences of the attack are less murky</b>
We will begin by assuming that the attackers are Islamist militant groups operating in India, possibly with some level of outside support from Pakistan. We can also see quite clearly that this was a carefully planned, well-executed attack.
<b>Given this, the Indian government has two choices. First, it can simply say that the perpetrators are a domestic group. In that case, it will be held accountable for a failure of enormous proportions in security and law enforcement. It will be charged with being unable to protect the public. On the other hand, it can link the attack to an outside power: Pakistan. In that case it can hold a nation-state responsible for the attack, and can use the crisis atmosphere to strengthen the governmentâs internal position by invoking nationalism. Politically this is a much preferable outcome for the Indian government, and so it is the most likely course of action. This is not to say that there are no outside powers involved â simply that, regardless of the ground truth, the Indian government will claim there were</b>.
That, in turn, will plunge India and Pakistan into the worst crisis they have had since 2002. If the Pakistanis are understood to be responsible for the attack, then the Indians must hold them responsible, and that means they will have to take action in retaliation â otherwise, the Indian governmentâs domestic credibility will plunge. The shape of the crisis, then, will consist of demands that the Pakistanis take immediate steps to suppress Islamist radicals across the board, but particularly in Kashmir. New Delhi will demand that this action be immediate and public. This demand will come parallel to U.S. demands for the same actions, and threats by incoming U.S. President Barack Obama to force greater cooperation from Pakistan.
If that happens, Pakistan will find itself in a nutcracker. On the one side, the Indians will be threatening action â deliberately vague but menacing â along with the Americans. This will be even more intense if it turns out, as currently seems likely, that Americans and Europeans were being held hostage (or worse) in the two hotels that were attacked. If the attacks are traced to Pakistan, American demands will escalate well in advance of inauguration day.
There is a precedent for this. In 2002 there was an attack on the Indian parliament in Mumbai by Islamist militants linked to Pakistan. A near-nuclear confrontation took place between India and Pakistan, in which the United States brokered a stand-down in return for intensified Pakistani pressure on the Islamists. The crisis helped redefine the Pakistani position on Islamist radicals in Pakistan.
<b>In the current iteration, the demands will be even more intense. The Indians and Americans will have a joint interest in forcing the Pakistani government to act decisively and immediately. The Pakistani government has warned that such pressure could destabilize Pakistan. The Indians will not be in a position to moderate their position, and the Americans will see the situation as an opportunity to extract major concessions. Thus the crisis will directly intersect U.S. and NATO operations in Afghanistan.</b>
It is not clear the degree to which the Pakistani government can control the situation. But the Indians will have no choice but to be assertive, and the United States will move along the same line. Whether it is the current government in India that reacts, or one that succeeds doesnât matter. Either way, India is under enormous pressure to respond. Therefore the events point to a serious crisis not simply between Pakistan and India, but within Pakistan as well, with the government caught between foreign powers and domestic realities. <b>Given the circumstances, massive destabilization is possible â never a good thing with a nuclear power</b>.
This is thinking far ahead of the curve, and is based on an assumption of the truth of something we donât know for certain yet, which is that the attackers were Muslims and that the Pakistanis will not be able to demonstrate categorically that they werenât involved. Since we suspect they were Muslims, and since we doubt the Pakistanis can be categorical and convincing enough to thwart Indian demands, we suspect that we will be deep into a crisis within the next few days, very shortly after the situation on the ground clarifies itself.

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): In the wake of the terror strikes in Indiaââs financial hub Mumbai, Central cabinet held an emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi to discuss security measures and the post blast actions on Thursday.
Talking to reporters after the meeting <b>Home Minister Shivraj Patil said that the country is strong enough to defeat the designs of the militants.
They want to create difficulties for our country. They want to frighten us. They wonât be able to frighten us. They wonât be able to create difficulties for us. The country is strong enough, forces are strong enough and we will definitely see that such designs do not succeed. The attacks presumably the biggest of its kind in the country mainly targeted the foreign tourists and took them hostages in Indiaââs plush hotels.
The Home Minister said contrary to earlier fears the number of foreign hostages is not big and efforts are on to see that they were not harmed.
Operation is likely to finish quickly. The only concern is how to see that the hostages are not harmed. But <b>fortunately the number of foreigners we were thinking was quite big. But it is not very big, said Patil</b>. <i>{Had it been Hindus, it would be ok}</i>

NEW DELHI : <b>The Mumbai terror attacks have infused new life into the city BJP leadership. It was hard at work on Thursday to ensure
that it converted the outrage into votes on poll day. And political observers feel this may swing some votes.</b>
<b>While the central leaders tried to refrain from politicising the issue, on the ground, party workers were quick to take advantage of the incident. It's Voice of the Youth, Radio BJP, a motorised float, talked about the terror strike as it criss-crossed parts of the city even as workers made it a talking point in the various informal meetings held in parks and elsewhere.</b>
The day unfolded with BJP's CM-designate, VK Malhotra, underlining the failure of the government in reining in terror. Said Malhotra, "After the Batla House incident, there's a lot of anguish in the people. The government has glamorised terror, with people even collecting money for the terrorists. Even the Mumbai strike has happened because the police's attention was diverted towards an innocent when this attack was being planned.'' The allusion to the Malegaon blast suspect, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, in fact kept cropping up even as Malhotra described the terror strike as an intelligence failure, claiming the government's response to all terror attacks has been "soft'' throughout.
Speaking to Times City, Malhotra admitted that the Mumbai terror strike was expected to play a role on November 29, the day the city goes to polls. "It's an attack on the country, and Delhi should come out to vote and let the government know what it thinks about its policies on Saturday,'' was all he would say though. He added that the party would push for the police coming under the ambit of the Delhi governemnt if it comes to power. "The Puja, Diwali and Eid celebrations were all affected because of security fears in the city this year. Now with Mumbai, we need to ensure our city is safe,'' he claimed.
Insiders, meanwhile, admitted that the party was trying to convert the horror of the people into votes. Said a senior party member, "There's an immediate reaction from people on the Mumbai siege, and the feedback has been very positive for the party. Our challenge will be to convert this outrage into votes for the BJP.''
On ground, the efforts seemed to have already started. The party's Radio BJP was hard at work drumming up reaction from the young, as party sympathisers wore T-shirts with the slogan, "Hame Jeene Do.'' Said Sanjay Kaul, part of the Radio BJP initiative and a BJP member, "The terror strikes were obviously not part of the earlier schedule but we incorporated it from morning onwards.''
Meanwhile, another BJP campaign vehicle, Dr Harshvardhan's Vahini, which carries on interactive programmes with the public, asked people to talk about the issue as it went around parts of Krishna Nagar.
