I have a request.

Could we make a collection of the most useful Indian websites and pin it to the top of this section? Many of us assume that everyone knows BR (and I guess it's largely true), but there may be people who have wandered on to this forum who are unaware of BR and similar fora. The same would apply to specialty sites such as Indian bookstores, movie reviews, travel, shopping, religion based etc.

If there is already such a collection, please someone point it out.

OTTOMH, here is a shorlist:

Indian Military website and forum (BR): www.bharat-rakshak.com
Movie/song reviews: www.planetbollywood.com
Hinduism: www.hindutva.org
General topics: www.sulekha.com
Images of Hindu gods: www.hindugallery.com
Kashmiri Pandits home page: http://www.kashmiri-pandit.org/index.html

I will post more later.

Pradeep

Bhootnath:

Would also be nice to list out people like Bidwais, Mani Iyers et al too. They did nothing but critisize for past 5 years. Now, they'll either keep doing the same with new administration or find ways of justifying the same crap we've seen for 50 years. Or maybe things will be all nice and hunky dory in which case we'll miss these chaps. <!--emo&Sad--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Bhootnath, T.R. Jawahar of newstoday.net is another one to the list.

Hi guys, following up this thread on the links issue and quering if its possible for members to build up or upload links on their own to the India Links Section including some of the above as poted. It would be a great reservoir for links that could be organised as to different sections.

Spent some time looking for the traffic link to see how India-forum was doing, bit of a downward change for a few months but seems to be rapidly changing with new article by Hauma and the thread on Shankaracharya.

Alexa traffic on India-Forum.com

Another cool site that i came across recently was www.coolgoose.com, if one clicks on music and world and sanskrit and religious you get a wide variety of bhajans uploaded by various members including one's hard to find as the Hanuman Chalisa by M.S.Subbulakshmi.

Would be neat if India Forum had such a bucket to upload important files and pics that could later be added into articles.

Back to the forum!!

The introduction line below Indian Culture Forum reads:
Discuss the <i>mosiac</i> that is the Indian culture

<i>Mosaic</i> is incorrectly spelled there. Please fix it.

Welcome RajivG. This is the right place for the BRF "banned".
As they say, " give us your downtrodden, give us your banned <!--emo&Wink--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

BRF is not bad; just some admins and their darling posters are pseudo=secular riff-raf.
There is one a-hole who likes to talk in riddles and pretend he is a profound thinker, and his chamcha is a go-an who has orgasms reading those obtuse posts.
They are examples of what is wrong with brf.
On the othert hand Shiv is clear headed and pushes things to the limit. His threads on the poison of islamists are pretty good.
Anyway, Welcome to India Forum - the place where PC is not in fashion - and you can call a spade a spade.

yes, we are working on, still unable to find reasons. We are moving trash can threads to Blogspot, but performance is still bad.

It is very slow.
