US to be blamed for rise of terrorism in Pak: QureshiQUOTEIslamabad Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has blamed the United States for the rise of terrorism in the country.
Interacting with media persons during a press conference at the Multan Airport, Qureshi held America responsible for the continuous spate of violence in the region.

“We’ve made it clear to the Americans that they are responsible for this problem. They established training camps and created mujahideen to disintegrate Russia. When it collapsed, they left and we fell prey to the menace of terrorism,” 'The Nation' quoted Qureshi, as saying.

Qureshi said that the issue of terrorism needed a regional-level solution and urged countries like Afghanistan and Iran to support Pakistan in its effort to fight the menace.

QUOTEOperation Rah-e-Hijat in South Waziristan Update.

The army killed 20 Taliban on the fourth day of Operation Rah-e-Nijat against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in South Waziristan, the military said on Tuesday, as troops intensified the battle for control of Kotkai.

An exceptionally reputable and well informed McClatchy correspondent, a native Pakistani, provided a very different version of the fighting at Kotkai in South Waziristan. As reported in the Miami Herald. Saeed Shah reported,

Taliban guerrillas recaptured the birthplace of the Pakistani Taliban leader( Hakimullah Mehsud) from the Pakistan Army Tuesday, inflicting the heaviest military losses so far in Pakistan's high-stakes offensive in South Waziristan….Taliban militants attacked Pakistani forces and recaptured the strategic town of Kotkai, Reuters reported Oct. 20. Security officials said government forces captured Kotkai but militants struck back to retake it. An intelligence official said seven soldiers including a major and several Taliban were killed in the fighting. Another intelligence official said jets bombed Taliban positions in and around Kotkai after the militant counterattack.

This report suggests that one of the three prongs of the Pakistan Army offensive got sucked into an ambush. Shah’s report and the Army statement are the first credible and congruent reports of a serious engagement. The Army got bested today, reminiscent of Musharraf’s campaign in North Waziristan.

McClatchy’s Shah also reported that government attempts to enlist the aid of Mahsud tribesmen were rejected by the tribal elders. The Mahsuds understand this is a punitive campaign. In other words, the deeper the Pakistan Army units move into South Waziristan, the greater is their danger of massacre, but for over-watch by the Pakistan Air Force. This “all out campaign” is faltering after four days, probably because it is far from an all out campaign.

QUOTEMeanwhile, US Congressman Jim Moran has urged the United States to guarantee that India does not attack Pakistan in any case and at the same time make it clear to New Delhi that any aggression would be dealt with by the United States.

Talking to the participants of “Day on the Capitol Hill” organised by the Pakistani-American Public Affairs Committee (PAKPAC) here on Tuesday, Jim Moran said it was not possible for the United States to provide funds to Pakistan to defend its borders with India. He said perhaps the US guarantees would ensure that the funds being provided to Pakistan were going to the purpose that was mutually beneficial to both the United States and Pakistan.

Mudy Ji :

From “Letters to Jehadi Sethi”

Topi drama

Sir,

There are altogether one million military personnel in the Pakistan Army that boasts to be the 5th largest in the world; and just 8-9 camouflaged terrorists penetrated into the GHQ buildings, killing more than the number of perpetrators, including a Brigadier and Lt Colonel. What a shame!

A couple of weeks ago, I watched former dictator Perverz Musharraf speaking in the United States saying that 3000 Pakistani soldiers are guarding Pakistani nuclear facilities and that there is not even the slightest possibility for terrorists reaching infiltrating that security setup and getting access to the nuclear arsenal bombs. Mr dictator, you are lucky that some fools and idiots are listening to your lectures around the world since the world is never short of loggerheads. Otherwise, you would be paying for the booking of the auditorium from your own pocket! If your audiences had even a tinge of intellect, they would be aware that you are a failed person, who could not even save his own throne.

Pakistanis are a weird nation and right from the President to a push-cart man never learned a lesson in 62 years of their existence! After Sunday’s so-called successful operation [9 terrorists versus one million Pakistani forces] the army has left many open-ended questions for the world:

1) Is Pakistan capable of protecting its nuclear facilities?

2) Could Pakistan’s repeated insistence that the facility is in the safe hands convincing enough?

3) When 9/11 catastrophe took place, a large number of Muslim individuals and lobbyists clamored that the attacks were planned, well set and hand made by Jews with the conspiracy of the United States to trample down Iraq and Afghanistan and Muslims of the world at large. My point is this : could it be possible that Pakistani agencies designed the GHQ attack themselves, to achieve their desired objectives? These are the objectives that all of us are aware of.

Regardless of what the net result is, one thing is clear that the GHQ act, if genuine, proves to be extremely humiliating for the Pakistan army. Interesting and paradoxical part of the whole topi drama is that on one hand, 100 Pakistani TV channels are broadcasting master mind, Aqeel’s biography that he was born near Pindi, worked in the Pakistani Army Medical Store and traveled to South Wazirstan for training of terrorism and on the other, Munawar Hassan of Jamat-i-Islami and a bunch of demonstrators got up in Multan carrying Army Chief’s portrait chanting slogans, “America Murdabad, Israel Murdabad and India Murdabad.” What is going on?

The recent incident has paved a powerful argument for the United States to urge Pakistan that when 9 men could cross Pakistani check posts in GHQ, then a couple of hundred trained personnel could easily grab the Pakistani nuclear facility. We must also remember that just last year, over 300 Pakistani soldiers were taken hostage by terrorists somewhere around the northern borders. Everyone knows that America’s agenda is to deprive Pakistan from nuclear power by hook or crook and on the other hand, al-Qaeda and Taliban are working to grab the same to destroy the West! Will Pakistan be crushed in between?

Shafiq Khan,

Toronto.

Pakistan will just do fine because other are bigger fools. Look at India, they just bark but no action. Have you seen street dogs, when some one throw stone on leg they scream for short duration and hide under car. Look at US, they keep feeding mad dog because they love dog fights, it just gives them kick. Regarding UK, after they lost India, they lost their Manhood plus Hitler converted them into garlic paste, now they just stinks.

US embassy rejects misuse of Sihala college facilityQUOTEISLAMABAD: Pakistani authorities suspect that Americans involved in training of the Punjab Police at the Sihala Police College may have been involved in espionage near the Kahuta nuclear site located close by. However, US diplomats strongly deny this.

A credible government source said at least one Pakistani security agency has clearly indicated in its report submitted to the government that the Americans might have installed radiation detection devices at their Anti-Terrorism Assistance Programme (ATAP) camp situated in the college to monitor activities in the Kahuta nuclear site.

“Concerned authorities may be asked for a joint survey of the ATAP Camp by incorporating technical experts to assess if any interception equipment to detect radioactive rays has been installed or not,” the report said.

The report also revealed that following US pressure, the Ministry of Interior vide its letter number 1/41/2003-Police dated June 29 also granted a no objection certificate (NoC) for import of explosive material by the office of the ATAP.

From Paki fora about Sihala siteQUOTEI just happened to watch a brief report on SAMA TV that stated that there is one particular place inside Sehala Police Station which is completely occupied by Americans, allegedly CIA.
