Questions Related To India-forum Website
Can easily be fixed by embedding a turing number or captcha. That way, automated bots won't be able to register. And you won't have to waste time removing them. <!--emo&Big Grin--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Everyone may be facing problems to post and login.

How I did it-

On login page,

Enter your user id and click on forgotten password.

It will display page and request for your email address and user-id

Enter information

You will receive email.

Check in Inbox and junk folder.

At the near end of email, there is user id, validation number provided and link

Enter those information.

You will receive another email with your user id and new password

enter those information.

And later change your password to your choice.

If anyone had another option, Please post here.

Thanks,

I was able to get in after using the 'User ID' and 'Validation Key' provided at the end of the email. Using the activation link at the beginning of the email led to an error. Thanks Mudy and Rhytha

I was able to get login working by resetting the password.

However, the portal view is not working. I used to read the forum in that view before the upgrade.

it gives error

I notice that, on the new India-Forum.com home page, there is no link to the discussion forums.

Can you please add that, in a prominent place on the page. Otherwise we may lose valuable members!

Vishwas, Mudy.

I am aware of it, I waited for us to fix members problems first, if any, and they put it out for new sign-ups.
  Reply
rhytha,

I am not talking about new signups. I am talking about existing members.

I just didn't know how to get to forums at all. I thought forums were eliminated in the new design!

Eventually, I searched for this on Google, and got here.

For anyone else who has been experiencing the following problem:

If things still didn't completely work after trying Mudy's instructions to login (in post 1 of this thread), and you get to see the following forbidding welcome message instead, upon trying to login with the newly assigned password:

Quote:"An Error Occurred

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

[#1000] You are not allowed to visit this forum." <img src='http://www.india-forum.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Huh' />
Then too bad, they don't like you <img src='http://www.india-forum.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

However, that doesn't mean you can't crash the party anymore.

Because you can: just write to Rhytha and he will help you sneak in through the back door. (That's what I did when it happened to me.)
