The 'holy' catholic church refuses to take responsibility for christianism's crimes:

1. First it denies what's happening for as long as it can

2. Then, when it is forced to admit to something, it tries to stifle the truth from leaking out to the wider public (e.g. see church procedure on how sexual abuse cases have to be handled internally within the church)

3. When caught, it pleads misunderstanding or decides to apologise or distracts with irrelevant, unrelated or invented counter-allegations. Trying for an equal-equal, so that it doesn't remain conspicuous.

4. It tries to blame others. (Including individuals, like the victims of sexual abuse.) It hardly ever excommunicates any of its own hierarchy, which shows that it is NOT repentant and WILL do it again. I think I saw a recent example illustrating this, will try to find it.

5. It tries to cover the matter up. E.g. the facts of Vatican/catholic church's fundamental involvement in nazism in Europe, especially with Ustashe nazis of Croatia. This matter could be covered up for a long time because wartime documents were classified information - until they were declassified more recently.

6. If it's a huge crime and the church involvement has become so public that denial, cover-up, apologising and/or shifting from one foot to the other foot won't save the day, it will blame the devil.



And so: enter Father Amorth, the exorcist, who naturally refers to the "accuracy" of the film The Exorcist to prepare/pre-scare the audience into the right state of delusion.

Of course tabloid space is procured for Amorth's voice: the last-ditch christist excuses must reach the masses, else what's the point of all the dramatics if there's no audience?



Predictably he blames all of catholicism's abuse situation on "the devil" (when it's *jesus* who's the artifice for aggression, i.e. jeebus is the cause of christian terrorism). Amorth declares Hitler was possessed by the Devil (though his church has never excommunicated him), but is careful to avoid difficult questions by explicitly not mentioning the Vatican intimate Slovakia's Catholic-Priest-cum-Nazi-Head-Of-State Tiso or that other buddy of the Vatican, Ustashe nazi Archbishop Stepinac of Croatia's nazi state (headed the committee of the forced=violent conversions of the Orthodox Serbs and known as the "father confessor to the Ustashi").

Similarly, when faced with what to do about nazi Germany, he excuses christianism with the equally absurd notion that a whole nation can be possessed by the devil. Except, of course, that they were possessed by the invention of jeebus. It was nazi priests and nuns working for Catholic and Protestant churches who were eagerly helping out the nazi state in turning in members of their own congregations who had Jewish ancestry, in euthanising people with disabilities, etc. And the faithful christians committed christian nazi crimes not just in Germany (which the Vatican had a comfy treaty with) but in catholic-ruled Ustashi (nazi) Croatia, where the priests and archbishops *were* the arch-nazis. Said murderous nazis also have lots of happy photos taken with the Vatican from where their orders emanated. And the loyal Vatican helped these - including Croatia's Ustashe leader Pavelic - throughout, even after it was all over for nazism.



Amorth's reasoning "how else can the sudden vast number of sexual abuse cases and hitler and nazism be explained" is particularly sly - his apologetics targets the bewildered faithful sheep all across the globe, to keep them drugged for longer using the powerful 'devil' excuse that is so effective on the christianised psyche.

But the explanation for the "How" is simple:

1. Sexual abuse in the church is not sudden or recent, it goes back to as long as the church has been in existence. And until recently, the many many cases were just hushed up for a long time, as even news reports keep reiterating.

2. Catholicism is inherently fascist (IIRC, nobeliefs.com has the documentation). Christianism is both the ur-fascism and the most fully-developed form of fascism, of which catholicism is the most expert. It's so advanced because it has become expert over the ages.



Christianism, as a means to continue to keep itself afloat (=christian apologetics) likes shifting the blame from itself onto its invisible spooks. Of course, christist and christoconditioned entities like the Telegraph UK will lend a credulous ear to such inane christian excuses as The Devil Did It.

But heathens do not believe in satan, no more than they believe in the evil jeebus-jehovallah fiction. And heathens must remind themselves to always hold the christ fiction=christianism itself responsible.





Don't know why Nizhal Yoddha regularly humours the existence of the fictional devil, and now humours this latest catholic deflect-onto-the-devil routine. No Hindu should be falling for the "devil" claptrap. He doesn't exist either.



Besides, as reverted heathens of Europe say: satanism and christianism are part of the same religion=christianism. They both developed concurrently, in the same church circles (popes and cardinals and priests of history have been listed as satanists) and their rites of christianism are related (declared as "inverted", involve the same christo-theological matters like cross, baptism, sabbath, etc). It's not "abrahamic", it's specifically christianism. Similarly, it's only among christianised populations that you ever find satanism (including among Indian christians, as Mudy once posted news articles on), because it is part of the same religion: it's part of *christianism's* dualism. Hence the phenomenon goes back a long way: there were quite a few medieval satanists in long-christianised Europe - refer to Joseph McCabe who goes over the contemporary documentation of such accounts.



The origin is the babble. As per the babble, lucifer (=the name of the fallen seraph(?) Satan; the rebel angel apparently had his own will which angels are not supposed to have) is addressed as the Morning Star. And elsewhere in the same babble jeebus is defined as the same Morning Star. As western ex-christians have long pointed out, that and other biblical statements makes jeebus=satan. In any case, believe in the one = believe in the other, christianism is a dualist religion regardless of whether they deny it. For an all-poweful god to be eternally opposed by the devil who yet helps him in his other role of tormenting the unbelievers for eternity shows that it's either dualist or gawd=satan. Anyway, the babble and the history of christianism/christian church is where this intimate connection and back-and-forth-osmosis between mainstream christianism and its satanism derives from.



One last repeat: both jeebusjehovallah/satan are fiction and there's no need for the free world to believe in one or the other. People who accept this nonsense that the "devil did it" are falling for christian apologetics. Case in point: Telegraph UK that gave father Amorth and his bag of 'exorcist' excuses a platform.

ROME - An extraordinary summit between Irish bishops and Pope Benedict XVI opened Monday with a prayer and fraternal kisses in what Ireland's top bishop called a first step toward repentance for the country's clergy sex abuse scandal.



The delegation's top member, Cardinal Sean Brady, archbishop of Armagh and primate of all Ireland, told Vatican Radio the two-day meeting was part of a "journey of repentance, reconciliation and renewal" for the Irish Church.



An investigation last year revealed that church leaders in Dublin had spent decades protecting child-abusing priests from the law while many fellow clerics turned a blind eye. A separate report in Ireland released months earlier documented decades of sexual, physical and psychological abuse in Catholic-run schools, workhouses and orphanages.



The revelations shocked the predominantly Catholic nation.



[size="5"]Clogher Bishop Joseph Duffy said resignations were not on the agenda in Rome, [color="#FF0000"]despite victims' demands that clerics who played a role in concealing pedophile priests step down.[/color][/size]



The 24 bishops went one by one to the pontiff and kissed his hand in a sign of fraternal respect in the first of two sessions on Monday.



On Tuesday, before heading back to Ireland for Ash Wednesday penance services, the bishops will have one more session with Benedict, who before becoming pope had decried "filth" among some ranks of clerics in the worldwide church.

Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said one point of discussion will be the special pastoral letter Benedict has promised to send on the abuse scandal. Duffy indicated on Sunday that the letter's issuance is not imminent because of the complexity of the scandal.



Victims have been clamoring not only for resignations, including of one of the bishops at the summit, but for the Vatican to take clear responsibility for what they call a culture of concealment of abuse.



Several Irish bishops have agreed to resign, including two who stepped down on Christmas Day, but others have flatly refused.

Bishops will each speak with the pontiff about their views and knowledge of decades-long sexual, psychological and physical abuse of minors by parish priests and by clergy in Catholic orphanages, workhouses, and other institutions.



"Trials that come from inside are of course the most difficult and humiliating," the Vatican No. 2, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, said in a homily during Mass before the summit's opening. "(But) every kind of trial can become a motive for purification and sanctification as long as one is illuminated by faith ... and as long as the sinner recognizes his sin."



Among the bishops at the summit will be Martin Drennan of Galway, who has insisted he did nothing to endanger children, and rebuffed calls that he stepped down.



In the Dublin report, investigators determined that a succession of archbishops and senior aides had compiled confidential files on more than 100 parish priests who had sexually abused children since 1940. The files had remained locked in the Dublin archbishop's private vault.



Abuse victims, galvanized by former altar boy Andrew Madden, who in 1995 became the first Irish person to go public with a lawsuit against the church, have accused the pope and his diplomat in Ireland, Archbishop Giuseppe Leanza, of [color="#FF0000"]hiding behind "diplomatic protocols"[/color] in refusing to respond to letters from Irish investigators about the extent of abuse and [color="#FF0000"]cover-up[/color].



Leanza is a summit participant.



The reports follow a campaign by the archbishop of Dublin and primate of Ireland, Diarmuid Martin, to confront abuse allegations and deal honestly with the cover-up and victims' suffering. Martin, who heads the Holy See's office on justice, had welcomed the bishops' resignations last year.



Among the Holy See officials joining the summit is U.S. Cardinal William Levada, who heads the [size="5"][color="#FF0000"]Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, a key Vatican office that reviews abuse claims against clergy worldwide.[/color][/size]

BERLIN - Catholic authorities in Germany announced two major abuse investigations Wednesday — one into the renowned choir once led by Pope Benedict XVI's brother and another into what everyone, including the pope, knew about the sexual and physical abuse of students.



The Roman Catholic diocese of Regensburg in southern Germany said it appointed an independent investigator to examine the allegations of physical and sexual abuse that have engulfed the prestigious Regensburger Domspatzen boys choir, which was led by the Rev. Georg Ratzinger, the pope's older brother, from 1964 until 1994. [color="#0000FF"]So far[/color], the sexual abuse allegations predate Ratzinger's term.

[color="#800080"](Also note how it's the catholic diocese itself that *says* it has appointed an 'independent' investigator. It's not the government who has appointed people to this task. That means, the entire business is treated as an internal affair to the church: i.e. it's going by the church handbook on how to deal with sexual abuse cases. Diocese spokesman Jacob Schoetz said that Nuremberg lawyer Andreas Scheulen was named to lead the inquiry.

"The independent lawyer will thoroughly go through all existing legal papers, all court decisions and any information available," Schoetz said. "We expect to publish first results within the next two weeks."



In addition, the German Bishop's Conference said it would look into [color="#FF0000"]wider-ranging allegations across the country[/color] after more than 170 students at Catholic schools have said they were sexually or physically abused decades ago.



The conference said it had not launched a formal investigation but had called on parishes and church institutions in Germany to conduct their own examinations. The conference is also seeking expert advice on the issue, prelate Karl Juesten told The Associated Press.



Those local investigations will also examine allegations of sexual abuse at the choir and look into what, if anything, the pope himself knew in his previous position as the archbishop of Munich.



"We do not know if the pope knew about the abuse cases at the time," Juesten said. "However, we assume that this is not the case."

Stricter rules

In reaction to the spiraling child abuse scandal, the German government said it would impose stricter rules on educators. Families Minister Kristina Schroeder told the Wiesbadener Kurier daily Wednesday that local authorities will be allowed to ask for a thorough police check on all applicants who are going to work with kids.



Juesten, the liaison between Roman Catholic bishops and the German government, also praised Ratzinger, the pope's brother, for saying sorry to victims on Tuesday for doing nothing decades ago to stop the beating of students.



Ratzinger says students told him of allegations of physical abuse at an elementary school decades ago and apologized for doing nothing about it.



Reached by telephone Wednesday, Ratzinger said he had no further comment on the matter.



Ratzinger had first said he was unaware of any abuse, and Juesten said that others should follow the 86-year-old's lead in coming clean.



"The other perpetrators should follow the example set by Mr. Ratzinger and apologize to the victims for the abuse they have committed," he said.



However, the pope's brother has said he was unaware of allegations of sexual abuse at his own choir — incidents alleged to have occurred before his tenure.

Particularly sensitive

The Roman Catholic Church has been hit by years of abuse claims in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia and other countries. Yet the German abuse allegations are particularly sensitive because Germany is the pope's homeland, and because the scandals involve the prestigious choir led by his brother for 30 years.



Juesten said it was not known if Benedict, who served as archbishop of Munich and Freising from 1977 to 1982, was aware of any of the child abuse cases that took place then at Catholic schools and other institutions. Benedict did not oversee the Domspatzen choir, which reported instead to the Regensburg Diocese.

Schoetz, the spokesman for the Regensburg Diocese, said there were several cases of sexual abuse by two priests at the choir in 1958 and 1959.



"Sentences have been handed down, the accused have been punished and have since died," he said.



However, Scheulen, the lawyer leading the inquiry, will be asked to collect any type of other information or allegations on all possible cases of physical or sexual abuse, Schoetz said.



'Severe beatings were normal'

Franz Wittenbrink, 61, sang in the Regensburger Domspatzen choir from 1958 to 1967, said he was physically abused on a regular basis by the priests at its boarding school.



"Severe beatings were normal, but Ratzinger did not belong to the group of more sadistic abusers," Wittenbrink said in a phone interview with the AP from Hamburg. "But I do accuse him of covering up the abuses."



[color="#FF0000"]Wittenbrink said all boys suffered some physical abuse but a "selected group" of students was also abused sexually.[/color]



[color="#0000FF"]Another former choir boy at Domspatzen told the Bild Zeitung daily that he and other boys were sexually abused by teachers at the choir's boarding school in the 1950s. Manfred von Hove was quoted as saying he "finally wants to have answers and find out who was responsible for the cover-up at the time."[/color]



Von Hove also said he planned to sue the Regensburg Diocese for compensation.



Von Hove's telephone number is not listed and he could not be reached for further comment.

Ratzinger has repeatedly said the sexual abuse allegations date from before his tenure as choir director.

"These things were never discussed," Ratzinger told the Passauer Neue Presse daily. "The problem of sexual abuse that has now come to light was never spoken of."



Ratzinger did admit slapping students in the face as punishment for many years, but said he was happy when corporal punishment was made illegal in 1980. Corporal punishment was standard in German schools until the reform movement of the 1960s.



Yet the allegations of beatings from one elementary school at Etterzhausen, however, go far beyond the norm of corporal punishment.



Rudolf Neumaier, a student at Domspatzen Preschool in Pielenhofen in 1981 and 1982, told the AP he was slapped there, witnessed the corporal punishment of other boys, and saw then-director Johann Meier hit an eight-year-old boy with a chair.



Neumaier, who went on to join the Domspatzen choir in Regensburg in 1982, stressed he did not witness or hear about any abuse at the choir boarding school itself. But he said he personally told the pope's brother about the violence at the preschool but Ratzinger did nothing about it.



"I told Ratzinger myself, but he chose not to listen," Neumaier said.



Neumaier said he was shocked to find out that preschool director Meier stayed in his job until 1992.



The schools at Etterzhausen and Pielenhofen, where severe beatings have been reported, were two feeder schools for Ratzinger's choir, and Ratzinger said Tuesday that boys had told him about being mistreated at Etterzhausen but he did not understand how bad it was.

The German government has also announced plans for "round table" meetings involving school, church and other representatives to work on ways of detecting, preventing and dealing with future abuse. The first meeting is set for April 23.

The Roman Catholic Church is under increasing scrutiny as allegations of child sexual abuses by priests have emerged in several European countries.



Following are details of some of the major abuse scandals:



* NETHERLANDS: More than 200 Catholics have come forward in the past week with reports of abuse after a report by Radio Netherlands Worldwide and newspaper NRC Handelsblad that three priests from the Salesian order abused pupils decades ago at a boarding school.



* GERMANY: The Regensburg diocese said last week in a statement that one priest abused two boys sexually in 1958 and was sentenced to two years in jail. Another clergyman served 11 months in jail in 1971 for abuse. It mentioned three men who claimed to have suffered sexual abuse in the early 1960s by several unnamed teachers while they were at boarding schools connected to the "Regensburger Domspatzen" (Regensburg Cathedral Sparrows), the official choir for the diocese.



-- Archbishop Robert Zollitsch, head of the German Bishops Conference, apologized last month for sexual abuse of children by Catholic priests after more than 100 cases were reported in Jesuit boarding schools around the country.



* IRELAND:



-- April 2002 - Bishop Brendan Comiskey of Ferns, one of Ireland's best-known clerics, resigned over his handling of charges against a priest of his diocese who committed suicide in 1999 while facing 66 charges of sexual abuse.



-- May 2009 - The Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse issued a five-volume report that took nine years to compile. It said priests beat and raped children during decades of abuse in Catholic-run institutions.



-- November 2009 - The Murphy report, a government-commissioned inquiry into abuse in Dublin from 1975 to 2004 released on November 26, 2009, said church authorities covered up widespread cases of child sexual abuse until the mid-1990s.



-- December 2009 - After meeting two Irish Church leaders, Pope Benedict said he shared the "outrage, betrayal and shame" over the scandal in Ireland.



-- Last month, Benedict held crisis talks with 24 Irish bishops at the Vatican. A Vatican statement after the talks called child sexual abuse by priests a "heinous crime" and said the bishops had promised the pope they were committed to cooperating with authorities. Four bishops have offered their resignations and the pope has so far accepted one.



* UNITED STATES:



-- December 2002 - Boston's Cardinal Bernard Law resigned over charges he transferred clerical abusers to other parishes to cover up the scandal.



-- June 2002 - The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops directed dioceses to investigate all charges of sexual abuse.



-- February 2004 - Independent researchers commissioned by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said a total of 10,667 people had accused U.S. priests of child sexual abuse from 1950 through 2002. More than 17 percent of accusers had siblings who were also allegedly abused. Among accusers, 47 percent said they had been abused numerous times.



-- July 2007, Archdiocese of Los Angeles agreed to pay $660 million to 500 victims of sexual abuse dating as far back as the 1940s, in the largest compensation deal of its kind.



-- April 2008 Pope Benedict met victims of sexual abuse by priests during his visit to the United States. The U.S. church has paid some $2 billion in settlements to victims since the scandal first broke in 1992.



-- October 2009 - The diocese of Wilmington, Delaware filed for bankruptcy protection. It later agreed to provide documents to alleged sex abuse victims to postpone the start of about 80 civil cases. Since 2002, the Wilmington diocese has settled eight cases for an average of about $780,000 each.



* BRITAIN - July 2000 - London Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor acknowledged making a mistake in a previous post in the 1980s by allowing a pedophile priest to continue working. The priest was jailed in 1997 for abusing nine boys over a 20-year period.



* AUSTRIA - July 2004 - Austrian News magazine Profil ran pictures of priests kissing and groping seminarians at a Roman Catholic seminary in the St. Poelten diocese.



* AUSTRALIA -- July 2008 - On a visit to Australia, Pope Benedict apologized for sexual abuse by clergy, condemning it as "evil" and saying abusers should be brought to justice. At that time there had been 107 convictions for sexual abuse in the Catholic church there.



* MEXICO - March 2009 - Pope Benedict ordered a probe of the Legion of Christ priestly order whose founder was discovered to be a sexual molester. In 2006, Pope Benedict told the founder, Father Marcial Maciel, to retire to a life of "prayer and penitence." Maciel died in 2008.



* CANADA - Oct 2009 - Bishop Raymond Lahey of Antigonish in Nova Scotia was charged with possession and importation of child pornography. Earlier that year, he had overseen a C$13 million ($12 million) settlement with clerical abuse victims in the Antigonish diocese in a case dating back to 1950.

Soon after Jan van Riebeeck set up a Dutch settlement at the Cape of Good Hope in 1652, to supply provisions to Dutch ships plying to and from India and the East Indies, people from India were taken to the Cape and sold into slavery to do domestic work for the settlers, as well the dirty and hard work on the farms



From then until late eighteenth century when the import of slaves from Asia was prohibited, many hundreds, if not thousands, of persons from India - mainly Bengal, Coromandel Coast and Kerala - were taken to the Cape and sold into slavery.



Officers of ships and officials of the Dutch India Company returning to Holland usually took slaves or servants with them and sold them at high profit in the Cape. (Slaves could not be taken to Holland where slavery was prohibited). Many others were carried by Danish and British ships. While most of the Indians were taken from Dutch trading posts in India, a considerable number were also taken from Batavia as thousands of Indians had been taken by the Dutch as slaves to Batavia.

Many of those sold in the Cape, however, had not been slaves at all in India, but domestic servants, bonded or otherwise. The Reverend William Wright, a missionary in the Cape of Good Hope in the 1830`s, wrote of the slaves: "Some are natives of Bengal and other parts of India, who came to the colony as free servants, and were bartered or given away to the colonists."



In fact, there is reason to believe that many of the slaves - far too many of them were children, even less than ten years old - had been kidnapped in India. Warren Hastings, the British Governor-General of India, wrote in a Minute on May 17, 1947: "... the practice of stealing children from their parents and selling them for slaves, has long prevailed in this country, and has greatly increased since the establishment of the English Government in it... Numbers of children are conveyed out of the country on the Dutch and specially the French vessels..."



In 1706, a Dutch political prisoner, Jacob van der Heiden, was confined in a dungeon in Cape Town with Ari, an Indian slave charged with serious offences. He found that Ari had been kidnapped as a child while playing with other children on the Surat beach. He had been sold from one master to another and had been treated so harshly that he had run away. He joined other fugitive slaves and lived on stolen food until he was caught.

Individual slaves ran away from the harsh conditions on the farms and lived as fugitives. Most of them were caught: they were flogged, branded and sentenced to hard labour in chains.



At least two attempts were made at mass rebellion. The most remarkable was on October 27, 1808, when hundreds of slaves, including many from India, rebelled and joined a peaceful march from Swartland (near Malmesbury) toward Cape Town to demand freedom. The government sent troops and over 300 were captured. To avoid wider repercussions, it eventually charged only the leaders of the resistance.



Two accounts from court records show the harsh punishments to which the slaves were subjected and their spirit of freedom.



In 1739, Cupido, a slave from Malabar, threatened his mistress with a knife to force her to listen to his story. He said he resented the work and the lack of freedom which he had enjoyed in his own country. He wished to commit suicide as that was the only way he could obtain freedom and deprive his owner of his possession.



Cupido was overcome before he could stab himself, and broken alive on the wheel, thus being subjected to slow death.



Alexander, from Bengal, ran away and was captured in the 1730`s. He was flogged, branded, pilloried under the gallows and sentenced to 25 years of hard labour in chains. He managed to escape and was captured again in 1737. He was broken on the wheel after eight pieces of flesh were pulled out from him with red-hot tongs.

I got to thinking about that deranged christoterrorist Brenda Walker - yet another Amrikkkan wannabe-'journalist' - whose anti-Hindu hate-spew from a few years back included whining on incessantly about how some Hindus married their kids to dogs or mountains to bring the kids good fortune and ward of the ill, and how one Hindu woman had married a cobra out of affection, and how frogs were married off for good luck etc. It was no doubt an article meant to incite more of her madmen to missionise the 'Heathens of India' for 'wallowing in superstition/darkness/devil/etc'.

Anyway, next time her christonazi kind opens their flap on 'Hindoos' and 'Hindooism', can shove the above christo-event in. Should keep them quiet for a good while I think (or, fingers crossed, give them long-lasting if not permanent indigestion).

Abuse Investigation Needed 'Without a Moment's Delay'



[color="#0000FF"]The child-abuse scandal that broke out in Germany in late January has now spread across the country.[/color] As shocked German politicians argue over whether to lift the statute of limitations or impose civil penalties, newspaper commentators are unanimous in their call for swift and concerted action.



At first, it seemed like an isolated incident of abuse at one Catholic school in Berlin. But now, in little over a month, it has ballooned into a massive scandal, with reports of molestations and beatings stretching back decades -- in all types of private institutions and all over Germany. Shocked by the scope and terrible nature of the scandal, Germans are clamouring to find the appropriate response.

Very much more serious is the role of Joseph Ratzinger, before the church decided to make him supreme leader, in obstructing justice on a global scale. After his promotion to cardinal, he was put in charge of the so-called "Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith" (formerly known as the Inquisition). In 2001, Pope John Paul II placed this department in charge of the investigation of child rape and torture by Catholic priests. In May of that year, Ratzinger issued a confidential letter to every bishop. In it, he reminded them of the extreme gravity of a certain crime. [color="#0000FF"]But that crime was the reporting of the rape and torture.[/color] The accusations, intoned Ratzinger, were only treatable within the church's own exclusive jurisdiction. Any sharing of the evidence with legal authorities or the press was utterly forbidden. Charges were to be investigated "in the most secretive way ... restrained by a perpetual silence ... and everyone ... is to observe the strictest secret which is commonly regarded as a secret of the Holy Office … [color="#0000FF"]under the penalty of excommunication." (My italics). Nobody has yet been excommunicated for the rape and torture of children, but exposing the offense could get you into serious trouble.[/color] And this is the church that warns us against moral relativism! (See, for more on this appalling document, two reports in the London Observer of April 24, 2005, by Jamie Doward.)



Not content with shielding its own priests from the law, Ratzinger's office even wrote its own private statute of limitations. The church's jurisdiction, claimed Ratzinger, "begins to run from the day when the minor has completed the 18th year of age" and then lasts for 10 more years. Daniel Shea, the attorney for two victims who sued Ratzinger and a church in Texas, correctly describes that [color="#0000FF"]latter stipulation as an obstruction of justice[/color]. "You can't investigate a case if you never find out about it. If you can manage to keep it secret for 18 years plus 10, the priest will get away with it."



The next item on this grisly docket will be the revival of the long-standing allegations against the Rev. Marcial Maciel, founder of the ultra-reactionary [color="#0000FF"]Legion of Christ[/color], in which sexual assault seems to have been almost part of the liturgy. Senior ex-members of this secretive order found their complaints ignored and overridden by Ratzinger during the 1990s, if only because [color="#0000FF"]Father Maciel had been praised by the then-Pope John Paul II as an "efficacious guide to youth."[/color] And now behold the harvest of this long campaign of obfuscation. The Roman Catholic Church is headed by a mediocre Bavarian bureaucrat once tasked with the concealment of the foulest iniquity, whose ineptitude in that job now shows him to us as a man personally and professionally [color="#FF0000"]responsible for enabling a filthy wave of crime.[/color] Ratzinger himself may be banal, but his whole career has the stench of evil—a clinging and systematic evil that is beyond the power of exorcism to dispel. What is needed is not medieval incantation but the application of justice—and speedily at that.

That clause specifying that incidents of child rape must not be reported until ten years after the victim's 18th birthday is an unbelievable outrage. At least [color="#0000FF"]in his native Germany[/color], the statute of limitations on child abuse cases specifies exactly that time frame: [color="#0000FF"]Child abuse can be prosecuted up to ten years after the victim turns 18. They apparently didn't even have the decency to disguise their intentions by a less obvious phrase.[/color] How do they keep getting away with this?

Germany is having its moment of revelation. This crisis is a wave sweeping across the US, Ireland, into Germany. Imagine when it hits Italy and the [color="#FF0000"]third world[/color] where clergy held unquestionable authority for so long. There should be a Nuremberg Trial of the Catholic Church for crimes against humanity. It is an utterly corrupt institution. Open the doors and windows, let the sun shine in, and let this dinosaur fall of its own dead weight.

This is a serious problem, because such predatory behaviour is "nurtured": some abuse victims who remain quiet become abusers later in life.



In unconverted countries, christians are attacking heathen children in the christian schools, orphanages and (medical and other) facilities that have mushroomed everywhere. The jeebus-poison spreads.

I know lots of CINOs (Christians in Name Only) in the US but very few Christians. I grew up with German Baptist...those are real Christians. Amish and Mennonites, yes. But when I go to most protestant churches today there are woman speaking in church and that is clearly not allowed: 1 Timothy 2:11-12. There are actually several verses regarding woman not speaking in church. But this is the latest verse to address it and it is clear about its intent.

I think the US coddles its Christian fundamentalists. Of course not all Christians are. Many of the people you see screaming in anger on the streets and TV would call themselves Christian--yet they indulge themselves in anger without a qualm.



Christian ethics are just fine. [size="5"]But the theology is a joke and the mythology no more real than any other. The biggest problem I see with today's fundamentalists is they are continually arguing against science, lying about history (claiming that the main source of democracy is Christianity), and preventing us from improving our education.[/size] Dentists from texas are allowed to write Jefferson out of history in favor of fifth-raters like Gingrich.



I think we could use more making fun of religion here. Shall I mention the RC homosexual clergy or the anti-evolutionists or the people who think the planet is 6000 years old?

Missionary film leads to people 'hating Indians and wishing them dead'

To mark the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, March 21, Survival is accusing the makers of a controversial film of inciting racial hatred against Brazilian Indians.



The film, ‘Hakani’, has been watched by more than 350,000 people on YouTube and claims to be the true story of a Brazilian Indian child buried alive by her tribe. Survival argues the film is faked, that the earth covering the children’s faces is ‘actually chocolate cake’, and that the film’s claim that infanticide among Brazilian Indians is widespread is false.



‘People are being taught to hate Indians, even wish them dead,’ says Survival’s director, Stephen Corry, in an exclusive interview about ‘Hakani’. [color="#0000FF"]‘Look at the comments on the Youtube site, things like[/color], ‘So get rid of these native tribes. They suck’, and, ‘Those amazon mother f***ers burrying (sic) little kids, kill them all.’



‘The film focuses on what they claim happens routinely in Indian communities, but it doesn’t,’ Corry says. ‘Amazonian infanticide is rare. When it does happen. . . it is the mother’s decision and isn’t taken lightly. It’s made privately and secretly and is often thought shameful, certainly tragic.’



‘Hakani’ was directed by David Cunningham, the son of the founder of an American fundamentalist missionary organisation called [color="#0000FF"]‘Youth with a Mission’[/color], which has a branch in Brazil known as Jocum. Corry argues that the missionaries try to downplay their involvement in the film.



‘You’re invited to give money to UNKF, but you aren’t told what the initials mean (it’s part of the mission),’ Corry says. ‘The evangelical involvement is not mentioned at all. Even if you download the full film, the credits are unreadable, so you can’t tell who is behind it.’

Corry says the film is part of the missionaries’ campaign to pressure Brazil’s government to pass a controversial bill, known as ‘Muwaji’s law’. This would force Brazilian citizens to report to the authorities anything they think is a ‘harmful traditional practice’ – a law which would ‘foster witch-hunts’, ‘roll Brazil back centuries’ and ‘could bring catastrophic social breakdown’.



Survival believes that cultural practices should be based on the free and informed consent of all participants and that infanticide is wrong.

You object to the film ‘Hakani’. Why?



Stephen Corry: It’s faked. It puts together footage from many different Indian tribes and uses trick photography to make its point. It wasn’t filmed in an Indian community, the earth covering the children’s faces is actually chocolate cake, and the Indians in the film were paid as actors.





The filmmakers say it’s a re-enactment, not a fake. How do you respond?



Stephen Corry: It’s presented as entirely real. The opening title of the complete film reads, ‘A true story’, and only at the very end is the viewer told it’s a re-enactment. The trailer, which has been seen by far more people, doesn’t mention it at all. If it were broadcast here, that would be mandatory.



If [the infanticide] happened as portrayed, it’s an extraordinary isolated case. After decades of working in Amazonia, we know of no Indian peoples where parents are told to kill their children. It just doesn’t happen.



Why oppose the film if it’s just trying to stop infanticide?



Stephen Corry: The film and its message are harmful. They focus on what they claim happens routinely in Indian communities, but it doesn’t. It incites feelings of hatred against Indians. Look at the comments on the YouTube site, things like, ‘So get rid of these native tribes. They suck’, and, ‘Those amazon mother f—-ers burrying (sic) little kids, kill them all’. The filmmakers should be ashamed of all the harm this film is doing to the people they are trying to help. (1. No. Christofilmmakers are not trying to help. They're aiming at genocide.

2. It's all rather like the christolies by the various Donigers, in Slumdog Millionnaire, and by christomedia's "Orissa nun raped" fictions and its one-sided reporting on Kandhamal and Godhra are meant to drum up hatred and more christomissions/funding against Hindus.)



It’s propaganda to bolster the evangelical campaign for a very dangerous principle, the so-called Muwaji law, which has been presented to the Brazilian Congress.



What’s that?



The Muwaji law focuses on what it calls ‘traditional practices’ and says what the state and citizens must do about them. It says that if anyone thinks there is a risk of ‘harmful traditional practices’, they must report it. If they don’t, they are liable to imprisonment. The authorities must intervene and remove the children and/or their parents. All this because someone, anyone, a missionary for example, claims there is some risk.

Indians launch petition against draft law facilitating theft of children 24 April 2009



A group of Brazilian Indians have launched a petition against a draft law that would facilitate the theft of indigenous children by evangelical missionaries.



The draft law, backed by missionary organization ‘Youth with a Mission’, would allow the Brazilian authorities to remove indigenous children from their families and communities if suspicions of ‘harmful traditional practices’ were raised.



‘Youth with a Mission’ is using a film implying that infanticide is widespread among Brazilian indigenous peoples to drum up support for the law. The film, ‘Hakani’, has been watched by more than 450,000 people on YouTube.



In fact, infanticide among Brazilian Indians is very rare.



The Indians say that evangelical missionaries are taking children from indigenous communities on the pretext of ‘saving’ them from infanticide.

What is Survival?



Survival is the only international organization supporting tribal peoples worldwide. We were founded in 1969 after an article by Norman Lewis in the UK’s Sunday Times highlighted the massacres, land thefts and genocide taking place in Brazilian Amazonia. Uncontacted Tribes



Over one hundred tribes around the world choose to reject contact with outsiders. They are the most vulnerable peoples on the planet.

(So they've made it clear they want to be left alone, in peace. But christianism will never allow other people their rights and the freedom to just be.)



Many of them are living on the run, fleeing invasions of their land by colonists, loggers, oil crews and cattle ranchers. They have often seen their friends and families die at the hands of outsiders, in unreported massacres or epidemics.

Christian missionaries, who have been making first contact with tribes for five hundred years, are still trying to do so today. Often believing that the tribes are ‘primitive’ and living pitiful lives ‘in the dark’, the missionaries’ ultimate aim is to convert them to Christianity – at whatever cost to the tribal peoples’ own health and wishes.



In Peru, just a few years ago, evangelical Protestant missionaries built a village in one of the remotest parts of the Peruvian Amazon with the aim of making contact with an uncontacted tribe living in that region. They succeeded in making contact with four people: one man and three women. The man, known as Hipa, told a Survival researcher about first contact: ‘I was eating peanuts when I heard the missionaries coming in a motor-boat. When I heard the motor-boat’s engine running, I said to myself, ‘What’s happening? A motor-boat! People are coming!’ When we saw them, we went and hid deeper in the undergrowth. The missionaries called, ‘Come out! Come out!’



Members of the New Tribes Mission, a fundamentalist missionary organisation based in the US, carried out a clandestine mission to make contact with the Zo’é of Brazil to convert them to Christianity. Between1982 and 1985 the missionaries flew over the Zo’é’s villages dropping gifts. They then built a mission station only several days’ walk from the Indians’ villages. Following their first real contact in 1987, 45 Zo’é died from epidemics of flu, malaria and respiratory diseases transmitted by the missionaries.

The New Tribes Mission was totally unprepared and did not provide proper medical care to the Zo’é. [color="#800080"](Oh what a surprise. Reminiscent of those earlier 'innocent' christians who spread 'helpful' infected smallpox blankets among native N Americans.)[/color] Their policy to sedentarise the Zo’é around the mission meant disease spread rapidly, and the Indians’ diet suffered because the game they hunted became scarce due to the concentration of Indians in one area. As the Zo’é’s health suffered, they began to lose their self-sufficiency, and became dependent on the missionaries for everything. In response, the government expelled the missionaries in 1991. Since the Zo’é have been left in peace and now receive proper medical care, their population is increasing.

South American Indians demand ‘respect’ for uncontacted tribes

An indigenous federation that defends uncontacted tribes across South America has demanded that Peru’s government respects the rights and lives of uncontacted Indians living in the remote Peruvian rainforest.



The demand comes after unique photos of an uncontacted tribe living in Brazil, near the Peruvian border, made world headlines. Other tribes in the region are believed to be at risk from uncontacted Indians from Peru fleeing into Brazil to escape illegal logging.



The demand was made by the International Indigenous Committee for the Protection of Uncontacted Tribes and those in Initial Contact in Amazonia, the Chaco and Eastern Paraguay (CIPIACI).



‘The movement of isolated tribes into Brazil seems to be the result of the constant aggression and threats they have been facing on their land in Peru,’ CIPIACI’s statement reads. ‘Effectively, this kind of displacement has been going on for the last few years because of the invasion of their territories, mainly by loggers or missionaries who follow them and want to contact and evangelise them.

(Christianism will hound all vestiges of heathenism into conversion or extinction. Those are the only two choices it gives heathens.)



‘We demand that the Peruvian government meets its responsibility to guarantee respect for the rights of uncontacted tribes by the legal recognition of their ancestral land, the removal and sanctioning of outsiders who have invaded their land and threaten their lives, and the adoption of effective measures to guarantee their physical, social and cultural integrity.’



An unknown number of Ayoreo-Totobiegosode remain in the forest, actively resisting contact with outsiders. From evidence such as footprints and abandoned huts, there are known to be several distinct family groups living in a wide area.



In 1993, those Ayoreo-Totobiegosode who had been forced out of the forest submitted a land claim to the government on behalf of their relatives still in the forest. With the assistance of a local NGO, the Totobiegosode Support Group, the Indians requested title to, or protection over, 550,000 hectares of their land – less than a fifth of their ancestral territory of 2.8 million hectares.



Since the claim was submitted the government has titled 67,400 hectares to the Indians, with another 116,000 hectares promised. Injunctions have also been placed on the whole 550,000 hectares, preventing landowners, ranchers and other settlers from clearing forest or carrying out any other work on the land. But despite these injunctions, there has recently been a frightening wave of incursions, some of them causing the Totobiegosode in the forest to flee, abandoning their huts, which have been found empty.

Indigenous leader recalls 'terrible consequences' of first contact

An indigenous leader from Ecuador has spoken about the ‘terrible consequences’ of first contact between his tribe and the outside world.



Ehenguime Enqueri Niwa, from the Waorani tribe, spoke publicly at a high-profile conference in Paraguay intended to help protect other tribes from suffering a similar fate to his own.

‘It’s identical to what is happening in Peru. For centuries the Waorani have defended their territories, but now the biggest threats are oil exploration, loggers and miners.’



The Waorani were contacted in the 1950s by American missionaries. Enqueri’s father was one of the first members of the tribe to be contacted and was also involved in the killing of five of the missionaries – an event that made world headlines at the time.

The last uncontacted Indians south of the Amazon basin are being squeezed from all sides. With their last refuge gradually being overrun, they have nowhere left to hide. But if the Paraguayan government acts, the Indians can keep hold of their land and avoid the diseases that threaten to decimate their population.



The Indians are members of the 5,000-strong Ayoreo tribe which once occupied much of north Paraguay and south-east Bolivia. This region is part of the Chaco, a sparsely-populated expanse of scrub forest, grasslands and swamp. The Ayoreo are hunter-gatherers, living off the abundant natural resources of their homeland; they hunt wild pigs and armadillo, collect wild honey, and plant squash, corn and beans in the rainy season.



During the last century most of the Ayoreo's land was taken over by outsiders. In Paraguay ranchers cleared the forest of valuable timber, and set up vast cattle ranches. From the 1920s, thousands of European Mennonites established colonies in the Chaco; their ranches and dairy farms in turn attracted land speculators, whose companies now hold title to much of the Ayoreo's territory.



More recent arrivals to the Ayoreo's land are the fundamentalist missionaries of the American New Tribes Mission (NTM). The NTM has tried to convert many Ayoreo, and established a colony at a place called Campo Loro.



In 1979 and 1986 'evangelised' Indians, with the backing of the NTM, went into the forest to bring out uncontacted Ayoreo, from a group known as the Totobiegosode – 'people from the place of the wild pig'. At least five of the 'evangelised' Ayoreo died during these expeditions, as the uncontacted Indians tried to defend themselves from capture. Several of those brought to Campo Loro died soon after through ill-health. Campaigns by Survival and others brought a halt to these 'manhunts'.

(Manhunts = one of christianism's famous Convert-Or-Kill-All technique where they search for heathens in the remote forests of S America to capture them and put them in jeebus christ's concentration camps. Covered in Norman Lewis' book "The Missionaries".

In June, bulldozers cleared paths into forest in the south-east of the Indians' territory on land owned by the Veragilma and Falabella companies. The paths were cut to give access to stands of palo santo, a valuable hardwood. At the same time, the authorities in the regional government of Alto Paraguay are pushing for new colonisation of these lands. A huge track has also been bulldozed by Mennonite settlers on an estate called Yvy Pora: this disturbed the Totobiegosode in the area, who fled. Still other paths have been cleared on the Nieto and Gorostiaga ranches in the south and west of the Ayoreo territory.



The Ayoreo-Totobiegosode have been fleeing incursions onto their land for decades, and have made it abundantly clear they do not want contact: in 1994 and 1998 arrows were fired at bulldozers operating on their land. The clearing of their land is illegal – and if it continues, puts the isolated Ayoreo at great danger of being caught up in violent conflicts or again falling victim to disease.

Bulldozers move in on isolated Indians' heartland



The Ayoreo-Totobiegosode Indians live in the Chaco, a vast expanse of dense, scrubby forest stretching from Paraguay to Bolivia and Argentina.



Their territory has been bought by land speculators and ranchers and is now being rapidly cleared.



The Totobiegosode live in small communities. They grow squashes, beans and melons in the sandy soil, and hunt in the forest. Large tortoises and wild pig are particularly prized, as is the abundant wild honey.



In the forest four or five families will live together in a communal house. A central wooden pillar supports a dome-shaped structure of smaller branches, topped with dried mud.

Each family will have its own hearth around the outside; people will only sleep inside if it rains.



The most important Ayoreo ritual was named after asojna, the nightjar: when the bird’s call was first heard it heralded the arrival of the rainy season, and a month of celebrations and festivities.



The Ayoreo who now live in settled communities live in individual family huts. Those who have lost their land now have little choice but to work as exploited labourers on the cattle ranches that have taken over much of their territory.

Fundamentalist missionaries make regular visits to recently-contacted group

The controversial American fundamentalist missionary organisation the New Tribes Mission (NTM) is making weekly visits to a group of isolated Ayoreo-Totobiegosode Indians first contacted in 2004.



The group of 17 men, women and children emerged from the scrubby forests of western Paraguay in 2004 in search of water. Colonists had penetrated their remote forest home and were using the permanent waterholes for their cattle, thus preventing the Indians from making use of them.



The group are the close relatives of other Totobiegosode Indians forced out of the forest in two controversial incidents, in 1979 and 1986. On both occasions missionaries of the New Tribes Mission assisted in the contact expeditions; several Ayoreo died as a result of these encounters.



Visits to the most recently-contacted group, who have now returned to the forest and are living with other Ayoreo in a newly-established community called Chaidi, are supposed to be closely regulated to avoid the Indians catching diseases to which they have no immunity. But the NTM recently confirmed that, 'Each week missionary John Keefe and two Ayore (sic) men go to Chaidi to teach evangelistic Bible lessons to a group of Ayores (sic) who emerged from the jungle in March 2004.'



The NTM described a typical session:



'As John taught about the Ten Commandments he held up a mirror, showing the Ayores how he could look into it and see himself. Then he took mud and spread it all over his face. The people thought it was hilarious, but John brought out the seriousness of the lesson. He told them how, in the mirror, he could see the dirt all over his face and that God's Law was like a mirror. It showed people how they are dirty (sinful) before God.'.

Once again gives the lie to people claiming that the day of Jeebus' Conquistadors baptising the Americas in the blood of Natives' Extinction are over.

1. Christianism still exists, so too heathenism (christianism has tracked down and mapped the last outposts of heathenism).

2. Because heathenism still exists, jeebus' mandate to its cannibal sheep to Convert-Or-Kill is still in force.

3. And so, christianism's convert-or-kill program continues.

No use blaming christians, who are merely brainwashed. Christ=christianism is to blame.

All this will never end until the mindvirus of christianism is eradicated.
