State News And Discussion - 3
The poltics party guy how can he claim to be an analyst? He recommends KKR add two more Reddys to the already 14 and yet with same breath calls KKR a casteist, when the whole cabinet was selected by SG and her minions from Delhi! IOW KKR had no say in deciding who gets a berth and whcih one!

Looks like the SG system has perfected the ploy of chosing a non-entity and making them a trap to attract all the abuse while they hum along merrily. Look at MMS at center and now KKR at Hyd.

Congress is solidifying caste everywhere, just what is required in 21st century.

SG team is complete failure. Let see whether TDP is able to grab opportunity.

Indian Secularism is minorityism and mandalism. That is how all political parties including the BJP play.

More ruminations on Telangana by Poltics party guy:

http://www.politicsparty.com/telangana_2011.php

he says no Telangana will decimate INC. And if Telanagana is decided it will decimate the Telangana outfits!

Also what if they decide to split only the hardcore Telangana districts and keep the mixed districts with Andhra or creat a new Union Territory with them?

Maybe psy-ops or a survey designed to scare BJP in Karnataka

Bangloreans dont want BSY

Its expected, besides how many did vote for BJP? If it was all urban voters the BJP never would have come to power. Shows they like corruption more than good governance if they prefer HDK of JD. HDK was the worst CM.

Does anyone have any information on the ground situation in Punjab? I believe it will go to polls in 2011/12. Punjab has a tendency to fluctuate beween Congress and Opposition.

IF MMS is PM during election, for general election it will go for Congress and for state election at this stage very fluid, lot depends on how much Badal will give free electricity to farmers and loan write off.

Currently, bribe request by state employee is very very high, now they ask openly. It may be country wide problem.

People Kicking Rahul Gandhi. It is a Great Andhra article under the "Gossip" section, so take it for what ever it is worth. But one thing I know is Great Andhra has its loyal followers. And my friend former supporter of Rahul and YSR has cut his support to Rahul; he is now a full blown supporter of ONLY Jagan. There seems to be anti-Rahul wave in AP.

Except in Telangana region, if there is an election the fight will be between two regional parties. Yet to be named Jagan's party and TDP. The competetive politcs between these two parties started. Sonia and Rahul - who are they?

Telangana - We will see as this portion also will be a big lose-lose for INC in several districts. It is only a matter of time that INC will finally exit from its strongest bastion.

BJP needs to have clear strategy to win the States. AP is ripe for plucking. It should make inroads in TN. By the end of 2011, it should have at least 2 Southern States firm in its pocket (including Karnataka). RSS is doing great & thankless job in Kerala.

Kiran Reddy prefers Naidu to Jagan?

Quote:Jagan's two-day fast from Tuesday is just a token move compared to Naidu's indefinite fast, but ironically it is going to be the fast of the YSR scion that will force the hands of the government. So it seemed on Monday evening.

"This is a lose-lose position for the government. It knows that sops will have to be given to the farmers and also aware that the credit would go to Naidu or Jagan depending upon the timing of the announcement," said a senior government functionary.

"The million dollar question for CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is who should be allowed to walk away with the credit," the functionary added. Informed sources said the CM spoke to some of his close aides from New Delhi (where he attended the Congress plenary) on the government strategy.

And from this it seems that Kiran would not like Jagan to get any credit or mileage out of his 48-hour fast. Between the two, Naidu is seen as the lesser evil and if circumstances forced so, Kiran would rather allow the TDP boss to get the credit, the CM is believed to have said.

Kiran feels that if the Congress succeeds in pacifying Naidu by convincing him about fresh sops, then the government could get a breather. But if Jagan is allowed to walk away with the credit, it could cause greater damage for the party image in the long term.

Does anyone still have doubts about the state of INC in AP? <img src='http://www.india-forum.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Jagan's fast attracts thousands, including Congress members

Quote:Thousands of people, including 17 Congress legislators, on Tuesday thronged the banks of the Krishna river in Vijayawada to participate in a 48-hour fast by former Congress MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy {actually 10 lacs attended and all the highways are blocked. Actually Vijayawada is a huge junction for East to South traffic. It is also the heart of the coast and a trendsetter for politics of AP. Very very rich people come from here.} to demand that the government come to the rescue of farmers who lost their crops in the recent rains.

Three members of the legislative council, some senior leaders, former ministers of the ruling party and a few filmstars also turned up at the mammoth gathering.

Jaganmohan Reddy, popularly known as Jagan, launched the fast with over 100,000 farmers and supporters from different parts of the state in attendance in what is considered as his first show of strength since leaving the Congress last month.

The former Kadapa MP, who turned 38 on Tuesday, began the fast along with his supporters near the Prakasam Barrage.

Seventeen members of the assembly, including actress Jayasudha, former ministers B Srinivas Reddy, P Subhashchandra Bose and Konda Surekha, some former ministers as well as some MPs have joined the fast.

The response to the programme titled laksha deeksha (fast by one lakh) evoked huge response with people from across the state descending on this town of Krishna district in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

But the crowds were proving uncontrollable for organisers and the young leader had to repeatedly appeal to people not to move towards the dais.

The son of late Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy reached the venue after offering prayers at the Durga temple.{He may be an EJ but being in Vijayawada and not going the famous Durga Temple on the indrakeeladri will be considered as bad omen. There were several stories and history behind the temple.}

Jagan launched a scathing attack on the state government, saying it forgot the ideals of late YSR by ignoring the welfare of farmers.

"For the last one year, farmers are suffering one loss after the other. How many more farmers have to die before this government takes steps to solve their problems," asked Jagan.

The participation of Congress legislators worried the party leadership. Senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao said he would complain to the central leadership.

Jagan, who quit the Congress and resigned from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat accusing the leadership of dividing his family, reached the town in the morning by Prashanti Express to a warm welcome by supporters.

Soon after his arrival at the venue, Jagan garlanded a statue of his father. Prominent supporters sat on the 100-feet long, 50-feet wide and 10-feet high dais with massive cut-outs of the late chief minister and Jagan in the backdrop.

Those on the dais included former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and actress Roja, actor couple Rajasekhar and Jeevita and TDP founder NT Rama Rao's widow Lakshmi Parvathi.

Addressing the gathering, Roja said Jagan's fast had sent tremors in Delhi with MPs from the state queuing up outside Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence to meet him on the problems of farmers.

Actress Jayasudha, who represents the Secunderabad assembly constituency, said she had come here as she became a legislator because of the late Rajasekhara Reddy.{She is another EJ}

Jagan, who has announced plans to float a new party in 45 days, has gone all out to make the fast a massive show of strength. The organisers said the open space in front of the dais can accommodate 175,000 people.

After the rains early this month caused huge crops losses, Jagan had visited Guntur, Krishna and East Godavari districts to call on farmers. His tour had sent ripples in the Congress with a section of party leaders, including two legislators, joining his camp.

Jagan's action, however, has drawn criticism from his uncle and state Agriculture Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, who claimed that the package announced by the government for farmers last week was the best in India.

Jagan began the 48-hour fast at a time when leader of opposition and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is also on a fast for five days, demanding a fair deal for farmers.

The TDP chief, arrested Monday, is continuing his indefinite fast at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad.
