Back to fascism days, when weak leaders started demonizing one group and created environment for prosecution. This process always starts from Europe.

India and Britain also share so much culturally whether it’s watching Shah Rukh Khan, eating the same food, speaking the same language and of course, watching the same sport. Many of you in this room would have grown up revering Kapil Dev. I did the same with Ian Botham. And Sachin Tendulkar, the Little Master, is so talented that wherever you’re from, you can’t help but admire him as he hits another century. Indeed, culture is so important to our relationship that it’s going to be a significant part of what I talk to Prime Minister Singh about. http://www.business-standard.com/india/n...5C/403136/

But this isn’t just about Britain and India. This is a relationship that can benefit the world.

In this perceptive article published in THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, Gurcharan Das reviews a perceptive book:

"Monsoon: The Indian Ocean and the Future of American Power" by Robert D. Kaplan (Random House, 366 pages, $28).

An excerpt from the review:

"When it comes to the contest between India and China, I do not believe it will be decided either by arms or economic strength. Both countries will soon become prosperous and middle class. The race will be won by India if it fixes its governance before China fixes its politics; or by China if it finds a way to give its people liberty before India reforms its institutions of the state--bureaucracy, police, and judiciary."

Quote:Soros' donation is meant to help Human Rights Watch volunteers around the world entice other donors to give enough additional money to boost the organization's budget from $48 million a year to $80 million within five years. The organization envisions hiring about 120 more staffers -- primarily researchers and advocates -- and setting up new offices to encourage such emerging powers as India and Brazil to make human rights a keystone of their foreign policies.

But the money also is meant to make its donor base as international as its outlook. Plans call for Human Rights Watch to draw at least half its income and most of its board members from outside the U.S. within five years. Now, about 70 percent of the money and 80 percent of the board members are U.S.-based.

Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange issued the order temporary halting the ban after the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations filed a lawsuit on the matter.

The 16 brewing conflicts to watch for in 2011.

I am surprised India is not on list. Currently, Indian ruling party (Congress party, who President is Sonia Gandhi) is engulfed in every single scam. They will not leave power easily. Only way to stay in power, they will create civil war like environment. Currently, they are directly creating environment against majority religion of India and religious leader. India bureaucrats, who are directly involved in scams are working full time to protect Queen and her stooges, so that they can protect their own assets.

Tajikistan give 1% of its territory to China.

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan – Tajikistan has agreed to give away a portion of its territory to neighboring China in a bid to put an end to a land dispute dating back more than a century.

Parliament voted Wednesday in favor of giving up around 1,000 square kilometers of land in the Central Asian nation's sparsely populated Pamir Mountains region. There was no immediate information on how many people live in the territory to be ceded.

Opposition leader Mukhiddin Kabiri said the land transfer is unconstitutional and represents a defeat for Tajik diplomacy. But Foreign Minister Khamrokon Zarifi portrayed it as a victory, saying China had initially claimed more than 11,000 square miles (28,000 square kilometers).

It is just the beginning and the political analysts strongly believe that this time the Arab world will see some significant changes. Many believe that America's paranoia about Muslim fundamentalism and terrorism has protected these dictators over the years. However, the world is demanding that they open up themselves to reforms and social welfare. Riots and protests are also happening in Algeria and Jordan over high food prices which indicate that only democracy and fair governance can calm the people down. http://www.siliconindia.com/shownews/Wil...Newsletter

"State multiculturalism" has failed and left young Muslims vulnerable to radicalisation, David Cameron, the British prime minister, has said, arguing for a more active policy to heal divisions and promote Western values.

Cameron, in a speech to a security conference in Munich on Saturday, said that Britain and other European nations needed to "wake up to what is happening in our countries" as well as tackling terrorism through military operations overseas.

"Under the doctrine of state multiculturalism, we have encouraged different cultures to live separate lives, apart from each other and the mainstream," Cameron said.

"We have failed to provide a vision of society to which they feel they want to belong ... all this leaves some young Muslims feeling rootless. http://english.aljazeera.net/news/europe...10460.html

"We've even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run completely counter to our values.

"It is time to turn the page on the failed policies of the past."
