This Union Territory will have geographical linkage and contiguity via Nalgonda district in the south-east to Guntur district in coastal Andhra and via Mahaboobnagar district in the south to Kurnool district in Rayalaseema:
"This is likely to receive stiff opposition from Telangana protagonists and it may be difficult to reach a political consensus in making this solution acceptable to all," it says.
5. Bifurcation of the state into Telangana and Seemandhra as per existing boundaries with Hyderabad as the capital of Telangana and Seemandhra to have a new capital:
"The committee feels that this option has to be given consideration. The continuing demand for a separate Telangana has some merit and is not entirely justified. In case this option is exercised the apprehensions of the coastal Andhra and the Rayalaseema people and others who were settled in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana with regard to their investments, properties, livelihood and employment would need to be adequately addressed.
"Considering all aspects, the Committee felt that while creation of separate Telangana would satisfy a large majority of the people from the region, it will also throw up several serious problems. Therefore, after taking into account of the pros and cons the committee did not think it to be most preferred, but the second best option. Separation is recommended only in case it is unavoidable and if decision can be reached amicably amongst all the three regions."
6. Keeping the state united by simultaneously providing certain definite constitutional/statuary measures for socio-economic development and political empowerment of Telangana region-creation of a statutorily-empowered Telangana Regional Council:
"In this option, it is proposed to keep the state united and provide constitutional/statuary measures to address the core socio-economic concerns about the development of the Telangana region. This can be done through the establishment of a statutorily-empowered Telangana Regional Council with adequate transfer of funds, functions and functionaries. The regional council will provide a legislative consultative mechanism for the subjects to be dealt with by the Council.

Do not write off. We need to get more clarity on the Jagan-Sonia stuff. Though it is very very early stages, TDP, Jagan and KCR may split the 296 seats and a deadlock may be possible. INC may lose now but using the split they may force a Telangana resolution to really split the state. Once the split occurs in 2011, by 2014 is a new game.
My thoughs may be bizzare but I will wait for few more months before concluding.
These are the four reasons why Jagan wants the Congress and Sonia Gandhi to bear the `Deccan headache' till 2014 when AP will face Assembly elections . By then, hopefully some of the issues would have died down and, with public memory being short, Jagan can find his way to newer issues. This is precisely why Jagan is being a gentleman and doing Congress and Sonia a favour. That is, till 2014.
Jagan is still organizing his strength by going on his 'odarppu' yathra while being visible centre-stage on current economic issues affecting the largely agrarian state. He will be a 'gentleman' until he is sure that in the ensuing election the Congress won't be a contender let alone be returned to power.
The Congress Party has no clue as to how it can stop the desertion of its legislators in both Telengana and non-Telengana regions.
By the way Telengana is a Muslims and Maoist dominated/infested area compared to the rest of Andhra. The BJP is ill-advised to support the creation of Telengana.

I am glad not all people think that way. I am not from Hyderabad or AP, yet I have invested in AP, yes lakhs of it. My brother has invested in the same city in lakhs. We lived there and it brought great joy and memories. We like it. We have invested in Bangalore too, and Chennai too. But that is just our family.
If one looks at Madras, there is a big Jain and Marwadi community presence. They are so far away from their original place; they have inhabited Chennai for decades and have invested heavily. They have built Colleges and other institutions in the city for the benefit of Jains and all others. I studied in one such Jain college.
There are lot more examples of people and communities investing in parts of the country that they do not have ancestral connection.

i. Sourav Ganguly is being asked by CPM to join and fight from Lalgarh.
ii. AGP in Assam is in big confusion. Some leaders just want to take the money from INC and are ready to sit as opposition. INC is ready to pay any amount to get a dummy opposition and especially they don't want AGP to have a tie up with BJP.
iii. BJP is having seeing a growing goodwill among voters. Only issue is that they need a leader (face) to take that voter goodwil.
iv. Within Congress, PC and others like Manish Tiwari etc feel that once RG comes central leadership, they will be sidelined. So not everyone is enthusiastically about defending the family. Congress Mansabdari structure is very clear in its interest. It will support the Delhi Sultanate as long as they get some benefit. If they don't get any benefit, they start issues all over.
v. INC brigrade is very unhappy that BJP did very well in Bihar. In Andhra they feel next time they will not cross 10 to 15 Lok Sabha seats. So they have to gain that from West Bengal, UP & Assam. It is working to get 55 MPs from UP (through any means..)
vi. In UP Mayawati is not giving away her votebank. Some surveys indicate return of BSP in 2012. Congress is not able to make much headway as it lacks a cadre base. So RG's "Mission 2012" has been shelved. Now INC in a "deal" mode with Mayawati. BSP can have the legislative power and INC should be given maximum number of seats in Lok Sabha. In return all the cases against Mayawati & BSP will be 'taken care'. Recently CBI didnââ¬â¢t appeal against an court order in IT tribunal or so.
