<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin--> IIRC how majority of Muslims had no part in the Rising.

Nehru's Discovery of India (I'm cheating here.. was in Bharat Ek Khoj <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) had Sir Syed Ahmed saying just the opposite. He explains the reason of his refusal to join the INC stating that it was because Muslims suffered more (his words) than the Hindus for their part in the 1857 uprising. And he advocated that Muslims shouldn't be part of any group that rebelled against British government.
Now this was Nehru's interepretation, and given his agenda around that time, one can never be sure.
