Pervez, 44, one of the youngest professors of the prestigious university, was found dead in a hotel room in New York on Thursday evening, his family members said on Saturday.
The only son of Shahabuddin, he had been in the US for some years. He is married and has two children.
His family members here are desperately trying to gather more details about his mysterious death.
He had last called his wife on Wednesday evening and was found dead in the hotel room a day later, they said.
