Three Indians in fray for Grammy Awards

72-year-old Asha Bhosle and Anoushka has been nominated in the category of `Best Contemporary World Music Album.`
Norah Jones, Anoushka`s half sister, is in contention for the `Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals` category in nominations.
Asha Bhosle`s album in collaboration with Kronos Quartet titled `You`ve stolen my heart- songs from R D Burman`s Bollywood` is in the race on Category 73.
Anoushka is in contention in the same category for the album `Rise`, while Norah is placed in Category 8 for `Viriginia Moon`, a collaborative album with Foo Fighters.
Lama Tashi, a Buddhist monk and Tibetan scholar from Arunachal Pradesh, has been shortlisted for the Grammy Award in the Traditional World Music category for his album Tibetan Musical Chants.
Lama Tashi is the principal of the Institute of Himalayan Studies at Dahong, Bomdila. His album consists of Buddhist chants and carries the message of love and peace. He is the principal chant master of the Dalai Lamaâs Drepung Loseling Monastery in India â one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world, with over 3,000 monks. He has travelled extensively throughout, teaching, performing, and recording with monks.
