The government has expressed deep concern over the growing controversy following publication of cartoons of Prophet Mohammad in European dailies.
It has also suggested that Denmark should apologise and give an assurance that such incidents will not recur.
The government had conveyed its outrage in October last year, a month after the cartoon was first published.
Meanwhile, angry protests against the cartoons continue unabated across the Muslim world.
The Danish envoy to Syria has left the country and the embassy has been shut down.
