<!--QuoteBegin-->QUOTE<!--QuoteEBegin-->We know that the muslims used to kidnap Hindu women and rape them. How do we know these people (Pakistani muslims) are not the product of this rape?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
In Punjab, the people were totally segregated (since the times of first invasion of muslims).
Muslims lived mostly closed to city or to a shrine of their "pir" in a village., away
from others. If you closely look at the name of the village from time to time you will notice
a word "Ranghar" meaning "coloured" or "mixed" or "b@st@rd". For example a very famous
village close to my village is named "Ranghar Nangal" i.e. "Nangal of the Ranghars".
Pakistan has a full battallion that exclusively recruites these "Ranghars". Now who are these
Ranghars?
The hierarchy from the time period of Before Mughals and later went like this
A Qiledar (who controls a fort).
A Nawab (who controls 2-5 villages).
A Zamindar (who controls 1 village).
A Farmer/peasent (who works on the land of Zamindar and pays him 50-80% of produce).
The upper three (qiledar, nawab and zamindar now referred as QNZ) and their Army,
would from time to time kidnap "beautiful" girls and rape them., once gone these girls
would be totally shunned by the rest of the people in village (including muslims).
Normally as long as the utility of the girl remained these QNZ kept them and often
many children were born out of this union. These children were named "RANGHARS"
by Hindus/Sikhs of Punjab (land between Indus and Jamuna).
One anecdote during the times of Guru Gobind Singh was that some Sikhs of the Lahore
area were travelling to see him at Anandpur Sahib (Chandigarh) when Ranghars
of Morinda attacked and took away everything (they were only men). They came empty handed to Guru Gobind Singh. Guru sent his elder son Ajit singh (who was later martyred fighting mughals at Chamkaur) and 100 Sikhs to fix these Ranghars, Ajit Singh rode from village to village until finding out the real culprits, punishing them and getting the stuff back to his father.
Normally these Ranghars were raised by the Maulavi/Qazi of the mosque and their
exclusive work was to "collect money","kidnap woman","threat others" for their
illigitemate fathers. Ranghars were kept away from their mothers and brought up
by Orphanages attached to mosques.
Now Rangharas didn't had a caste (or can calll themselves anything they wish).,
but many people in Punjab converted to islam for money, marriage, even such
reasons as "meat eating"., not to speak of forced conversions and death threats
till 1947.
The people who converted due to other reasons (not rape) i.e. money, forced threat, normally kept their last names and their proud ancestory.
For example A muslim Jutt is almost as proud as a Hindu Jutt or a Sikh Jutt.
While Rangharas are with shady ancestory.
