NEW DELHI: The RSS has won a positive endorsement from the UPA government. <b>The Tribal Affairs ministry in its annual report has recognised the services of four RSS affiliated organisations and has listed it in the select category to grant relaxation while providing grants.</b>

An elated RSS has put the endorsement on the top of its website with the headline: “Sangh activities win union ministry’s approval.”

The website, rss.org, says “While the UPA government and its coalition partners especially the Leftists oppose the RSS, the government had to laud the service rendered by various RSS associated organisations in different parts of the country. About one third of the 14 voluntary organisations whom the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has identified in its annual report for their outstanding services, are RSS associated organisations.”

“The Ministry of Tribal Affairs implements its welfare schemes for all-round development with the help of voluntary organisations. <b>The Ministry has identified 14 organisations, which produced remarkable results through implementation of its various schemes. The ministry has put them in a special category to grant relaxations while providing grants for next year,”</b> it said.

<b>The RSS affiliates which have been listed are Vidya Bharati, Sewa Bharati, Deendayal Research Institute New Delhi and Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram.</b> The Ministry is working on four major schemes with the participation of voluntary organisations. <b>They include grant to the organisations working for the welfare of the tribal, literacy campaigns among tribal women, running of vocational training centres and development of various tribal communities. </b>
