Mudy [edited - Viren]Read the following:
'In spite of long years of living and working abroad, Prof. Sen says, "I value retaining my Indian nationality." Despite being deeply attached to the country of his hirth, its people, social values and traditions, he has an outlook which is not limited by national boundaries.'

In all probability, the next President will also be from the minority community. However, it will all depend upon the political parties and the main opposition party the BJP with its current infighting is unlikely to put any serious effort to get its candidate elected as President. In any case, the people of India do not have any direct say in the matter of election of the President of India. The composition of the electoral collage is such that it is only the political leaders who are the deciding factor.
