Just to give you a perspective. My mother retired as a Vice Principal of a government aided school in AP after 35 years of service and she received approx rs 18,000/month salary in the end. The job also had pension, gratuity, paid leave, normal school vacations, setting up, grading and administering board exams as perks and additional income.
In contrast, a fresh grad in IT from a reasonably good school takes that much back home in the first month <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
