I did watch the transit of venus. Could see it as bright as a star.
Even mars came to the closest to Earth during that period.
That 20-30 year gap is actually a quarter of the precession cycle (72) year.
It is roughly 18 years. before and after 2012.
The change has started from 1994 to 2030.
Some say the period in 1980-2016
